NHFDC Scholarship 2017-18 Scholarship for differently abled students

NHFDC Scholarship 2017-18 is offered by National Handicapped Finance and Development Corporation (NHFDC). It invites applications from differently abled students who are pursuing Graduate and Postgraduate level professional and technical courses.

The interested candidates need to make an online application for the NHFDC Scholarship 2017-18 and there are 2500 slots available for the scholarship.The candidates will receive reimbursement of non-refundable fees restricted to the limit of a fee of similar courses in Government/ Government-Aided institutions in addition to Maintenance allowance and Stationery allowance.

Reservation for Girls: There is a reservation of 30% scholarships for Girl candidates, these NHFDC scholarships will be transferred to male candidates in case a sufficient number of suitable female applicants are not available.

NHFDC Scholarship provides various allowances and monthly maintenance allowance to help them continue their studies. The details of the benefits are provided below:

• Number of Scholarships: There are total 2500 scholarships available and 30% scholarships are reserved for female candidates.
  • These reserved scholarships can be transferred to male candidates in case suitable female candidates are not available.
• Reimbursement of Fee: Beneficiaries of the scholarship will get the reimbursement of the non-refundable fees paid to the Institution in which they are studying.
  • The amount of fee that will be reimbursed restricted to the limit of the fee of similar courses in Government/ Government-Aided institutions.
• Maintenance Allowance: The candidates will get a monthly allowance for ten months at the rate of Rs.2,500 per month for the Professional Graduate courses and Rs.3,000 per month for professional Post-graduate courses.
• Stationary Allowance: The students pursuing professional Graduate courses will receive a stationery allowance of Rs.6000 while students pursuing professional Post-Graduate courses will get a stationery allowance of Rs.10,000.
• Assistance for purchase of aids & appliances: Once during the lifetime candidates will be provided with financial aid to buy aids & appliances.
• Visual, Hearing and Orthopaedically handicapped differently-abled students, also, will be provided aids and appliances, only once during a lifetime, as given below:

Renewal of NHFDC Scholarship

The scholarship need to be renewed yearly, and the following documents are to be sent along with the application form for the renewal of the scholarship:

• Mark sheet: A copy of last year’s mark sheet.
• Passbook & Cheque: A copy of passbook of saving bank account and a cancelled cheque.

NHFDC Scholarship Application Form needs to be filled online and can be made anytime during the year. The candidates need to fill the online application form and send a printed copy of the application form and other supporting documents to the related authorities. Application Form: Candidates need to fill the online application form and take a printout of the same after completing the process.The printout of the application form after being countersigned and recommended by the head of the Institute (where the candidate is studying) is to be forwarded along with other required documents.

Required Documents

To complete the application process, the following documents are to be attached along with the online filled application form:

• Academic Records: Attested copies of mark sheets/ Certificates for the qualifying examination.
• Proof of Annual Income: Last salary slip of the parent/guardian, Income Certificate issued by Gazette authority.
• Disability certificate: Attested copy of Disability Certificate.
• Aadhar Card Attested Copy
• Receipt of Course Fee paid: Receipt of the fee paid during the academic session.
• Invoice of eligible assistive devices purchased from authorised dealers and duly countersigned by the authorised signatory of the institution.

Submission: After completing the online application form, the printout of the application form along with all the documents mentioned above should be sent to the address given below to complete the application process:

• The selection of the candidates for the NHFDC Scholarship 2017-18 will be done on the basis of the academic profile of the candidate and the availability of the scholarships.
• The decision of the corporation will be final and no further communication regarding the same will be entertained.

Earlier the applications were open throughout the year and the scholarship is awarded on a quarterly basis for the application received in the preceding quarter.
