About ICT awards for school teachers
National ICT Award for school teachers 2020 is awarded to facilitate those teachers who have enhanced student learning by effectively and innovatively integrating technology supported learning into the school curriculum and subject teaching, and thereby promoted enquiry-based cooperative-collaborative learning using ICT among their students. National ICT Award for school teachers is conducted by the Central Institute on Educational Technology (CIET) every year.
The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India, invites nominations for the National ICT Awards for school teachers for the year 2018 and 2019, from all States/UTs and Autonomous Educational Institutions under MHRD.
ICT award nomination process has started and the last date of submission of the nomination is 31 July 2020 and the award function tentatively will be held on 30 November 2020.

ICT awards for school teachers Reward
Each awardee teacher will get an ICT Kit, a laptop, and a commendation certificate. The awardees would be encouraged to function as mentors for their area to motivate and train other teachers. All the awardees will form a community of resource persons through networking. Selected initiatives would be shared as best practices across the country.
ICT awards for school teachers Application form and Process
The Application Process for National ICT award has been started and the last date to apply is 31 July 2020.
The various instructions before filling the entry form are as follows:
- A teacher Portfolio should be submitted along with the Entry Form.
- The portfolio should include evidence of the teacher’s awareness and use of ICT in his/ her own professional development, in improving his/ her teaching-learning, and in enhancing the overall quality of education in schools and community.
- The portfolio should document sustained systematic work using ICT over the years.
- It should also include relevant supporting documents, tools, reports of activities, field visits, photographs, audios or videos.
- E-contents listed in the portfolio (Audios, Videos, Multimedia, Charts, Maps, Models lesson plans, and images) should be uploaded/shared online.
ICT awards for school teachers Selection Process
- Schools will send detailed entries in the prescribed format along with supporting documents to the Directorate of Education of their States/UTs/Organisation through proper channel (Principal/DEO/Regional Offices etc.).
Shortlisting of Entries for Award
A Committee under the Chairmanship of Secretary/Commissioner (Education) of the concerned State/UT/Autonomous Organisations (KVS, NVS, CBSE, CISCE, CTSA, AEES, MOD etc.) will scrutinize all the entries and shortlist the candidates and forward the same to the Member Secretary of the Awards Committee along with minutes of the meeting. The State/UT/ organization shall recommend only twice the number of teachers as their awards quota, in order of merit.
Making Presentation to the Award Committee
Shortlisted candidates would be required to make presentations to the Awards Committee. Invitation in this regard will be sent to teachers directly by CIET-NCERT with intimation to their Directorate/Organisation. The composition of the Committee will be as follows:
- Director, NCERT, New Delhi Chairman
- DDG. NIC, New Delhi Member
- The representative from Secondary Education Bureau, Dept. of SE&L, Ministry of HRD, GOI Member
- The representative from the Dept of IT, New Delhi Member
- Joint Director, CIET, New Delhi Member Secretary
