About National Girl Child Secondary Education Scholarship Scheme
National Girl Child Secondary Education Scholarship Scheme 2017-18 is for girls students who are enrolled in class 9 in a State Government, Government-aided and Local Body schools. Under the scholarship scheme, Rs 3,000 will be deposited in the name of selected students as a fixed deposit in their bank account and the students can withdraw it on passing class 10 and attaining 18 years of age. The objective of National Girl Child Secondary Education Scholarship Scheme 2017-18 is to establish an enabling environment to reduce the dropouts and to promote the enrolment of girl students. The National Girl Child Secondary Education Scholarship Scheme is offered under Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, Government of India. Aadhar and bank account number of the candidates have to be provided latest by 30 September 2017. National Scheme of Incentive to Girls for Secondary Education (NSIGSE) falls within the category of pre-metric scholarship.

National Girl Child Secondary Education Scholarship Scheme Reward
The SC/ST Girl candidates selected under the scheme will be given Rs 3,000 as scholarship amount which will be disbursed on the account of girl candidates. The amount of scholarship will be deposited as fixed deposit and can be withdrawn along with interest after passing class 10 and attaining the age of 18 Years.
National Girl Child Secondary Education Scholarship Scheme Application form and Process
The eligible candidates have to fill the application form online on the official website of National Scholarship Portal www.scholarship.gov.in. The application Performa is available to the district education officers/principals of the schools in hard copy and the candidates can also download it from the official website. National Scheme of Incentive to Girls for Secondary Education (NSIGSE) falls within the category of pre-metric scholarship. The submission of the application form is described as under.
- STEP 1: The students or the school have to fill the application Performa in the excel sheet. The students have to provide the basic details asked in the application form.
- STEP 2: After filling the application Performa, the principal of the school will verify it. Thereafter, it will be sent to District Education Officers either through email or on CD and hard copy.
- STEP 3: The District Education Officer (DEO) will log in with user ID and Password generated by the State Nodal Officer and sent on the registered mobile number of DEO.
- STEP 4: The students have not to pay the fee for the application form. The Aadhar seeded bank account number has to be provided latest by 30 October 2017. Data uploading of students on NSP will be done by District Education Officer.
- STEP 5: Now, The use of Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) for data submission will be done by the State Nodal Officer only while submitting the data from State to this Department on NSP.
National Girl Child Secondary Education Scholarship Scheme Selection Process
- The information of all girls’ students who have applied for the scholarship scheme will be first verified by the Principal of the school. Thereafter, it will be sent to the district education officer.
- The District Education Officer will now login with user ID and Password generated by the State Nodal Officer and sent on registered mobile number.
- Now the use of digital signature certificate (DSC) for data submission will be done only by the State Nodal Officer while submitting the data. Thereafter, the collected data from different schools will be uploaded on the official website.
