NCO 2018: 18th National Cyber Olympiad will be conducted by Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) this year. SOF is a non-profit organisation which conducts various Olympiads throughout the year. The main objective of SOF is having a large, exclusive scientific and IT talent pool for the future is seeking out, identifying young geniuses and providing them with a unique competitive platform where they can prove themselves. Six Olympiads are organised by Science Olympiad Foundation, and the names of the Olympiads are as follow:

NCO Exam BY Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF)

A Non-profit educational foundation which promotes the study of Science, Computer, Mathematics, and English not only in India but also in Singapore, Oman, Qatar, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Durban, and UAE. In 2014-15, students from 31,500 schools from 14000 cities participated in various Olympiads organized by SOF. The SOF foundation is having a large, exclusive scientific and IT talent pool which works for seeking out, identifying the young geniuses and providing them with a unique competitive platform where they can prove themselves. Apart from the National Cyber Olympiad (NCO), the foundation conducts several Olympiads. All the activities of the SOF aim at making learning an interesting as well as an interactive process in which the learner can actually able to put their skills, talent, memory, and knowledge to test.

National Cyber Olympiad - NCO 2018

• National Cyber Olympiad (NCO) is a unique and most prestigious Cyber Olympiad in Asia.
• Students from class 1 to12 appear in the Olympiad examination, initially conducted at their school and based on the result of the examination they are ranked at various levels.
• Cyber Quotient (CQ): It gives the Score, School Rank, City Rank, State Rank, International Rank and Percentile of the participating candidates, along with a Participation Certificate.
• School Cyber Quotient (SSQ): Science Olympiad Foundation generates a performance report for all participating schools, in which they are ranked according to the performance of their students.
• NCO 2018 Exam Date: SOF National Cyber Olympiad will be conducted on two dates that are 20 December 2018 & 31 January 2019 as per the school convenience.

NCO Prizes

The SOF NCO is conducted at 2 levels and the prizes are huge for the students who will qualify in the Round 2. We have listed the prizes for the SOF NCO in the table below.

NCO (National Cyber Olympiad) Awards

• Gold Medal: Gold medal and Merit Certificates will be given to top ten rank holders from each class.
• These awards will be given to the winners from 20 Zones/States for their performance in the National Cyber Olympiad.
• For the academic year 2018-19, SOF will spend over Rs.16 Crores on Scholarships, awards, gifts & felicitations etc.
• International, Zonal and Class topper rewards will be awarded to the winners of SOF NCO. The SOF NCO is a single level exam and which will be conducted for the students from classes one to twelve.
• Appreciation Mementos/ Gifts will be awarded to the school Principal & Teacher In-Charge

Important note related to the 18th NCO Awards:

• Only one award will be given to each winner.
• Therefore, top 3 rank holders will get the awards based on their International ranks.
• The award for them in the state ranks will be offered to the next rank holder.

National Cyber Olympiad (NCO) Application form and Process

The Details regarding the National Cyber Olympiad Application form and Process is as follow:

• Registration of the School: For being associated with SOF and to nominate students for Olympiad Exam, the details of the school need to be forwarded to SOF in the following manner “School Name: Postal Address, E-mail: Principal’s name, phone number & e-mail ID”
• Documents related to Examination: Document related to the Examination such as Registration sheet for the school/students and the information booklet for the National Cyber Olympiad will be posted to the schools all over India and abroad.
• The responsibility of coordinating Teacher: It will be the responsibility of the school's coordinating teacher to follow the guidelines and generate the Roll Number of the students.
• Last date of Submission of Documents: A copy of school’s registration sheet, student’s registration sheet along with a copy of the roll numbers of the students need to be sent to the Foundation’s office before the last date of submission.

18th National Cyber Olympiad (NSO) Fee

Participation Fee: A participation fee of Rs.125 need to be paid by the student, out of which Rs.25 per student will be retained by the school for its exam related Expenses.

The selection for National Cyber Olympiad is done on the basis of the examination. SOF NCO is a single level Olympiad. Scroll down to get details on 18th NCO Exam.

18th NCO Examination 2018

National Cyber Olympiad will be conducted in the respective schools of the participants in the school timings.

• Duration: The duration of written objective type test will be of 60 minutes.
• Number of Questions: The students of class 1-4 need to answer 35 objective type multiple choice questions and the students of class 5-12 will have to answer 50 objective type multiple choice questions.
• Types of questions: The question paper will consist of three sections:
• Computer and Information Technology
• Logical and Analytical Reasoning
• Achievers’ Section.
• There are separate question papers for each class.
• The medium of Question papers: The Question paper will be available only in English. 

NCO Syllabus: Exam Pattern

The question paper of the SOF NCO Exam will be based on CBSE, ICSE/ISC and State Board syllabus for the respective classes. The NCO Syllabus will be based on the subjects for different Classes i.e. Class 1 to Class 12. There will be different sections in the question paper. The NCO Exam Pattern is provided in the table below.

NCO Sample Papers, Question Papers

The National Cyber Olympiad Question Papers are designed by the experts to make students familiar with the syllabus covered and the exam pattern followed/ marking scheme which can help the candidates to make a smart plan and strategy for the preparation of the SOF NCO exam. The NCO Question Paper / Sample Papers are available for the Classes 1 to 12.

NCO Mock Test

NCO Mock Test is the best way to prepare for the National Cyber Olympiad Exam. The SOF NCO Mock Tests are based on the exact SOF NCO Exam pattern. The candidates can practice with the NCO Mock Test and they will be able to manage their time and can finish the paper on time. It also helps in getting familiar with the exam structure and type of questions asked in the SOF NCO Exam. The candidates will get to know about the type of topics asked in the exam. They will be also able to build up their speed in solving the questions. 

NCO Answer Key

After the commencement of the SOF NCO Exam, the candidates can check NCO Answer Key on or before the announcement of the result. The NCO Answer Key will be released by Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) for Set - A, Set - B, and SET - C. The NCO Answer Key will help the candidates by calculating their probable score. The candidates can estimate their marks by comparing their marked answers in the question paper with the right answers mentioned in the NCO Answer Key.

NCO Result

The NCO Result is declared within the 8 weeks of the SOF NCO Exam. When the NCO Result got prepared, it will be sent to the concerned schools. The result will be declared by the Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) for the exam which is scheduled to be conducted on 20 and 31 December 2018. It can be checked from the official website of SOF NCO by clicking on the link to download NCO Result. The candidates will be required to enter their login credentials to download the result. It is suggested to take the printout of the same for further use.

NCO Cut-off Marks

The Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) released the 17th NCO Cut-off marks on its official website. The National Science Olympiad cutoff marks given is of top 5%. Candidates are advised to see the table below to check the 17th NCO cut off marks.
