- National Geographic Traveller India's Annual Travel Storytelling Competition 2015 for Amateurs is a golden opportunity for those who wish to share their travel experience.
- The Travel Storytelling competition was launched on July 1, 2015 and all entries must be received by midnight IST on August 30, 2015. More than one story can be submitted. The result will be announced in February 2016 issue of the magazine.
What all is expected from the candidates?
- Candidates just don’t have to write about their recent Holiday Trip but rather they have to write about their journey.
- Every story should have hallmarks of National Geographic Traveller–immersive travel and authentic storytelling. The story should capture the core of the place in a way that will inspire readers to embark on their adventure.
- The story should be a true and a real experience.

- The story and the destination will be chose by the Editor. No fees or compensation will be paid for this task.
- The Word Length of the story will be determined by the Editor

India's Annual Travel Storytelling Competition 2015 Application Process
To participate in the competition candidates are required to submit a true story based on their personal experience written as a first-hand account in first person.
Word Length: 400-800 words
Important Points
- Prospective contributors must avoid giving the impression that they are representing the National Geographic Society or Traveller.
- All submissions must be previously unpublished, original work and must not contain third-party work.
- The submitted entry should not infringe the copyright of any third party and must not be obscene, defamatory or in breach of any legislation or regulation
- Multiple entries are welcome, as long as they are sent as separate emails.
Submission of the Entries
The duly written Story has to be mailed at contest@natgeotraveller.in with "Travel Writing Contest" as the subject.
Entries should be accompanied by: Name, postal address, email address, and phone number. Indicate if you have been published before; specify when and where.

- The best Story will be selected on the basis of quality of writing and adherence to the principles ofNational Geographic Traveller India.
- The decision of the Judges shall be final and binding.
- The Results of the contest are expected to be declared in February, 2016.
