About NEC Merit Scholarship Exam
20th Merit Search Exam is being conducted since last 19 years, through which students are awarded Merit Certificates and Scholarships. NEC is a Merit Search Exam 2016 from Class 5-12 students to promote merit among students. NEC 20th Merit Scholarship Exam will be conducted on April 9, 2017. The candidates willing to appear in the examination should apply and pay the registration fee
- 20th Merit Search Exam application form can be applied either in the online mode or offline mode. The last date to make application is 28 February 2017.
Latest Update: The candidates can now download the NEC Admit Card 2017 for the 20th merit Scholarship Exam to be conducted on 9 April 2017.

NEC Merit Scholarship Exam Application form and Process
Students can either apply online or offline for 20th NEC Merit Scholarship Exam.
Application through Offline Mode
The candidates can download NEC Application Form and send it along with the registration fee.
Online Application
All the particulars mentioned in the online Registration including Name of the Candidate, Date of Birth, Address, Mobile Number, Email ID etc. will be considered as final and no change/modifications will be allowed after submission of the online Registration form.
Other Important Details regarding the NEC Merit Scholarship Exam
- Track Application Status: Students can check the scholarship form application status by entering the reference number.
- Examination centres: Will be in different District towns of Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh & Madhya Pradesh.
Fill NEC Merit Scholarship Application Form
- Registration Fee: Rs. 300 and Rs. 200 for SC and ST Candidates
- Prospectus: Rs. 50
- Old Questions Papers: Previous ten years question paper may be obtained on payment of Rs. 20 per year per Class.
- Payment of Application Fee: The amount of the application fee, prospectus, and question papers can be paid online using Credit/Debit Card, Net Banking, Bank Draft, Money order or by Cash(only at Patna Office Counter).
- The Demand Draft needs to be in favor of "The Secretary, National Educational Council", payable at "Patna"

NEC Admit Card 2017
NEC Admit Card 2017 is available to download 15 days before the exam. If you have applied online you can download NEC Admit Card from the website otherwise, it would be sent by post to the candidates those who have applied in offline mode. Candidates have to follow the link given below to download the NEC Admit Card 2017.
NEC Merit Scholarship Exam Selection Process
NEC Exam Pattern
- There is separate Question Paper for each Class.
- Medium of Examination: The Merit Scholarship Exam will be conducted in Hindi/ English
- There are 4 sections in a composite paper carrying 25 marks each
- Questions are the Objective type, except literature, which are Subjective & 1st Qualifying.

Selection Process
- The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of a written test.
- Students who attain 50% marks in literature would be evaluated further
- In all the student needs to score a minimum of 60% marks to qualify.
NEC Merit Exam Result 2017
- The Result will be declared 90 days after the NEC Exam Date on the website & all participants will be intimated through ordinary post.
- There is provision to get Photocopy of Answer-sheet after Result.
