Lok Sabha Research Fellowship 2019

Lok Sabha Research Fellowship 2019 is a two-year program conducted by Lok Sabha Secretariat, Parliament of India. The Lok Sabha Secretariat will grant twenty-five Research Fellowships every year, on any subject having relevance or connection with the Parliament or Parliamentary democracy. The Lok Sabha Research Fellowship allowance will be a maximum of Rs. 10 Lacs plus Rs. 50,000 as contingency allowance will be awarded to the selected candidates. Students from any discipline related to parliamentary studies with high academic records or experts in his /her domain are eligible to apply. This is the Lok Sabha fellowship for writing books. The book can be on any subject having relevance or connection with the Parliament or Parliamentary democracy. The last date for submitting the application form is extended from 10 January to 31 January 2019.

Lok Sabha Research Fellowship 2019 Dates

25 Shortlisted candidates will be given the following fellowship reward and Contingency allowance:

• The total amount will be disbursed in installments to the candidates on the recommendation of the fellowship committee which will be judging students on their satisfactory performances on the given project.
• Some selected candidates will also be given permission to access the Parliament library for their research work.

Step for filling Lok Sabha Research Fellowship Application Form

STEP 1: Download the application form and read the term and conditions before applying for the fellowship.

STEP 2: Applicants have to send in their particulars in the prescribed format (Annexure) which is to be duly filled-in, along with a Synopsis of 1000 words of his/her proposal.

STEP 3: Fellowship Committee shall consider and recommend the names to the Hon'ble Speaker, Lok Sabha, for the grant of Lok Sabha Fellowships. The decision of the committee would be considered final.

Lok Sabha Fellowship Application form can be submitted in one of the two ways:

• The duly filled form is to be submitted in person or registered post to the following given address before 31 January 2019.

Guidelines for Submission of the Research Proposal

Candidates have to submit their Lok Sabha Research Fellowship proposal in the prescribed format only.

• Title of the project
• Statement of the Problem: Applicant has to briefly describe the problem they have encountered and its significance in writing books.
• Overview of Literature: Applicants have to write about their researchers and findings in their projects including their innovation and their approach.
• Conceptual Framework: Here applicants have to mention their ways and exploration of solution for the problem they have encountered earlier referring to as conceptual solving ability.
• Research Questions/Hypotheses: Given the conceptual framework and dimensions of the problem, specific questions to be answered and hypotheses to be tested through the proposed study should be explicitly formulated, compatible with the research design.
• Coverage: In the light of the questions raised or the hypotheses proposed to be tested, if sampling becomes necessary, full information on the following points should be given: (i) Universe of the Study, (ii) Sampling Frame, and (iii) Units of Observation and Sampling size.
• Methodology: Description of the methods of research are to be described in this column.
• Data Collection: The different types of data that are required for the research programme must be specifically described with their sources along with the tools and techniques used in the data extraction are to the mentioned specifically.
• Time Budgeting: Project must be broken up into the slots of time and management of the time slots are to mention strategically.

Selection Process

The selection for the grant of Research Fellowships will be made by a Fellowship Committee and the decision of the Hon'ble Speaker, Lok Sabha, will be final in all matters relating to the Fellowships.
