About InoVIT 2016
- InoVIT 2016 is a School level Science contest organized by Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), to promote Science as a subject among school students.
- Students from South India, studying in class 9-12 can participate in the below given 4 events:
- Working Model
- Idea Presentation
- Poster Presentation
- Quiz
- The participating in InoVIT 2016, students can win prizes of Rs. 3 lakh.
- Pre-registration is mandatory for all candidates except candidates participating in Quiz competition.
- The participation to InoVIT 2016 will be through school and the candidates shortlisted for the Stage 2 are to be accompanied by their Teachers for the final round to be organized at VIT University.
- The registration forms along with demand draft of Rs. 100 (Registration Fee), should reach the VIT office on or before December 22, 2015.
- The selection of the candidates for the final round will be done on the basis of the abstracts received from participants along with their registration form.
- The final round of InoVIT 2016 will be organized on January 09-10, 2016 at VIT University.

- Prize: The students participating in various events can win prizes with total value 3 lakh.
- Candidate shortlisted for the final round along with their Teachers will be provided with free accommodation and food during their stay in the 2 days event at VIT University.
InoVIT 2016 Application form and Process
InoVIT 2016 Application Process
The candidates who want to participate in InoVIT 2016 are required to register using the registration form available online. The details related to InoVIT 2016 are:
- Registration Form: The registration form is available on the website of InoVIT 2016 and students can download and can even use photocopies of InoVIT 2016 registration form.
- Details of Event: The students from class 9-12 can participate in any of the below mentioned even in teams having maximum 3 members. Details of the events are:
- Working Model:
- Students have to prepare working model related to any innovative scientific concept.
- Students are also required to submit 200 words abstract, in order to enter preliminary rounds.
- Idea Presentation: Teams of maximum three students from class 9-12 can participate in Idea Presentation event.
- Focus: The focus in the idea submission will be on Fundamental Concepts, State of Art Methods & Technology & Cost-effective solutions.
- Topics: The ideas related to the following topics can be presented:
- Biomedical
- Environmental
- Food
- Agriculture
- For preliminary round, candidates are required to submit a write-up of maximum 200 words.
- Poster Presentation:
- Students can prepare posters beforehand and exhibit them during the event.
- The maximum size of the poster needs to be 1m x 1 m.
- The poster related to any of the below-mentioned topics needs to be accompaniedwith a 200-word abstract related to the poster:
- Energy from Biomass
- Solid Waste Management
- Methods for Conservation of Water.
- Ozone layer depletion
- Nuclear energy
- Alternative construction material
- Green vehicles
- Greenhouse effect and climate Change
- Sustainable development
- Conservation of energy.
- Quiz: Quiz will be conducted on January 9-10, 2016 at VIT University. The details are as follow:
- The competition will be organised in 2 categories:
- Category 1: Class 9 & 10.
- Category 2: Class 11 & 12.
- The level of questions will be as per the standard of respective classes of the participants.
- Detailed rules will be announced just before the Quiz.

- Registration Fee: Each participating student needs to pay a registration fee of Rs. 100 per event in the form of demand draft issued in favour of ‘InoVIT 2016, VIT University’ payable at Vellore.
- Participants from the same school can submit their fee using a single Demand Draft of the total amount.
- Submission: completely filled registration form along with demand draft of registration fee should reach the following address on or before December 22, 2015:

InoVIT 2016 Selection Process
The details related to the rounds involved and other aspects of the contest are as follow:
- Rounds: The contest will be organised in 2 rounds:
- Preliminary Round: In the preliminary round, participants will be judged by the help of the 200 words abstract submitted by them. Shortlisted candidates will be informed either by email or phone within 5 days of receipt of their abstract.
- Final Round: For the final round candidates are required to report on VIT University before 08:00 am on January 09, 2016. The entries will be judged by professors from prime institutions.
