About IMF Youth Video Contest
- IMF Youth Video Contest is being organized by International Monetary Fund (IMF) during IMF Advancing Asia Conference in Delhi, India to be held from March 11-13, 2016.
- The Conference is co-sponsored by the government of India and the IMF, will take stock of the Asia-Pacific region’s economic performance and the policy challenges that will have a great bearing on social and economic progress.
- Applicants from any country that is a member of International Monetary Fund (IMF) can participate in the Video Contest provided that they are above the age of 18 years and not older than 30 years.
- To participate, candidates are required to make a 120 seconds video capturing through their own lenses the realities, challenges, and interesting stories from the region. Candidates can use cameras or mobile phone to record original videos having a maximum duration of 120 seconds. The theme for participation in the video contest is given below in the application process.
- The submission needs to be done online after registering for the IMF Youth Video Contest and the last date to complete the submission is January 26, 2016.
- The finalists will be selected on the basis of public voting and the decision of the winner will be made by the Judging panel appointed by IMF.

IMF Youth Video Contest Reward
Out of the entries received, 2 winners will be selected and will get the following prizes:
- 3 days Round Trip to New Delhi: Winners will win a 3 days trip to New Delhi, India from March 11-13, 2016 i.e. during the IMF Advancing Asia Conference.
- To be eligible for the prize, the winner must have a valid passport and should be able to get a visa to India.
- For Indian Winners: Any Government issued ID card having date of birth and photo.
- Their winning videos will be shown at the conference. The question posed on the winning videos will be posted during the IMF Advancing Asia Conference.
- Winners will not be provided with any alternative Cash Prize.
IMF Youth Video Contest Application form and Process
The submission of the entries is to be done online using the official website and there is no offline application process. The details of the application process are:
- Registration: Candidates are required to register themselves before submitting their videos. Once the registration process is complete, candidates can proceed with uploading their entries. >>

- Uploading your entries: Upon successful registration & verification, candidates can upload their entries on the official website or can upload their entries on YouTube and share the link while making an application.
- Candidates are required to give a title, description, and tags to their entries and to complete the submission first name and email id is also required.
- Video Specifications: The videos to be uploaded for the IMF Youth Video Contest are required to adhere to the following:
- Equipment: The videographers are free to use professional equipment or cameras or mobile phones.
- Number of Entries: Participants can submit more than 1 entry.
- Themes for Video Contest: The candidates should create their videos on any of the following themes:
- Economic development in Asia and the Pacific
- Infrastructure development in Asia and the Pacific
- Challenges and opportunities in Asia and the Pacific
- Gender equality in your country
- Social realities in your country
- Solutions for a better future in your country
- Duration: The duration of the video needs to be maximum 120 seconds.
- At the end of each video, the participant should pose a question related to one or more of the themes mentioned above.
- Social Media: Participants should use their personal social media account to tweet their videos and use the hashtag #AdvancingAsia.
IMF Youth Video Contest Selection Process
The judging will be done in 2 rounds and as per the following criteria:
- Round One - Public voting: On the basis of the voting done by the users on social media platform, Top 10 videos will be shortlisted and will qualify for the Round Two.
- Round Two – Expert Judging: The Top 10 videos from Round One will be judged by a panel of experts selected by the IMF (and including IMF employees). The Judging Panel will review the ten videos chosen as finalists and select the winners.
Result: Result of the IMF Youth Video Contest will be announced on February 15, 2016
The selection will be based on originality, technical excellence and artistic merit.
