About IET India Scholarship Award
IET India Scholarship Award 2017 has been designed to reward and celebrate individual excellence and innovation among undergraduate engineering students. The IET India Scholarship will be given on merit-based selection criteria and the winners are selected at Regional & national Level. The competition is open to 2nd & 3rd year Engineering students all over India from an AICTE/UGC approved institution.
IET Scholarship 2017 registration will soon begin tentatively in the first week of March 2017. There is no Registration fee for IET India Scholarship.
Last year's highlight
Nearly 7,000 engineering students applied to the 2015 edition of IET India Scholarship Awards. Based on the eligibility criteria, 1,300 students were shortlisted to write the preliminary online test. From these 168 students competed at 5 regional rounds in the cities of Bangalore, Chennai, New Delhi, Kolkata and Pune.
The 2013 and 2014 editions of the India Scholarship Award received tremendous response from the engineering community with over 9,000 entries from students across India for the both the years.

A woman engineering student can apply for both the categories, but if selected in both the categories, she will receive award in only one category as decided by the IET Jury Panel. |

The total scholarship that may be awarded to winners across the regional and national level is of Rs. 8,00,000

- If a Women Engineer is selected in both the categories (General & Women) she will receive the award in only one category as decided by the IET Jury Panel.
- If a student wins the scholarship both in Regional and National level then he/she will be awarded Certificate for both the levels and the prize money for national level only.
IET Scholarship Awards ceremony
The IET India Scholarship Award Nite will be held on the same date as the National Finals, in August or September 2017.
IET India Scholarship Award Application form and Process
IET India Scholarship 2017 application will begin tentatively in the first week of March 2017 and the last date to apply online is last week of April 2017. There is an online application process for applying to the IET India scholarship award. There is no offline application process.

Steps to fill the IET India Scholarship Application Form
Step 1 Registration
- Once Registered, the candidates will receive an e-mail to activate their account and will also get the Username.
- After Activation of the account, the candidates need to log in using their username and password.
Step 2 Uploading Documents
Applications will be considered for the IET India Scholarship Award only if the following documents are self-attested as well as attested by any of the following (attested by Head of the Department/Principal/Dean/Director/Registrar of the Candidate’s institution) of required documents are scanned and uploaded before the deadline.
Documents to be submitted are:
- Class 10 marks sheet (Mandatory)
- Class 12 marks sheet (Mandatory)
- Engineering marks sheet (For all semesters, completed until now
- CV (Optional)
- Certificate of any National/State Level competition that has won (Optional)
- Certificate of any Indoor/Outdoor sports competition that has won (Optional)
How to Successfully Scan & Upload the Documents
- Scan- Scan the documents (at 75 or 100 dpi; either in JPG or PDF format).
- Only files with .zip extension can be uploaded.
- Zip the scanned copies and name the zip file with their name.
- Size of the File: Ensure that size of the zip file does not exceed 5 MB.
Step 3 Submit the filled in Application Form
IET India Scholarship Application Form Submission
The completely filled in IET India Scholarship Application Form needs to be submitted online only. The candidates need not send the hard copy of the IET India Scholarship Application Form to the concerned authority.
Correction in IET India Scholarship Application form
The candidates cannot edit their IET Scholarship Application form after they have submitted their application form. In case, they have made any mistake then get in touch with the Scholarship Technical Team.

IET India Scholarship Award Selection Process
The IET India Scholarship will be given on merit-based selection criteria.
Stages of the Scholarship Award
It is 4 stage process
Stage 1: Online Application
Students apply online and submit the required documents. Criteria for Selection to Stage 2 is as follows

Results of stage 1 will be declared by last week of April 2017 and shortlisted students will be intimated on the registered email address.
Stage 2: Online Test
- The Students would be intimated on mail about the test date and time.
- Online Test would be conducted in the last week of May 2017.
- Candidates may take the online test from anywhere in India at their convenience, there are no centres allotted for the same.
- Only Shortlisted candidates will be via email notification from IET.
- The subjects covered in the Online test include Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science, Civil and Mechanical.
- The test will consist of 50 multiple choice questions in the areas of each subject.
- The duration of the online test will be 90 minutes.
Results of the online test will be declared by last week of April 2017.
About the Online Test
- Subjects covered: The shortlisted students from the stage 1 attempt the multiple choice online test on 8 subjects- Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science, Mechanical and Civil
- Total Questions: There would be approximately 50 Multiple Choice based Questions (MCQs)
- Duration of the test- 70 minutes
- A cutoff mark/score will be decided for each regional level by the national jury. Based on the cut –off, the applicants will be shortlisted for the next level.
- Disciplines of Online Test: The Online test is common for all the disciplines of engineering.
Results of the online test will be declared in last week of April 2017. Candidates selected for Stage 3 would be intimidated by e-mail and on the phone.
Stage 3- Regional Level Assessment (Presentation on a Given Topic)
- Shortlisted students from stage 2 will be required to give a presentation on a specific topic that will be given by the Jury members.
- The topic will be focused on solving a currently societal challenge, specific to the region.

The topic will be communicated to the contestants at least 10 days in advance to allow them enough time to prepare.
The Regional Assessment will be conducted across 4 regions between June-Aug 2017 in the respective regions.
- Regional South
- Regional North
- Regional East + North East
- Regional West
Stage 4- The National Finals (Presentation on an Engineering Problem)
- The National Finals will be conducted in September/October 2017 in Bangalore.
- Shortlisted candidates will make a presentation on their vision and solution, as they see it, for an engineering problem that is relevant to the society.
- The National Finals will also include a Group Discussion (GD) among the finalists.
- The topic for this GD will be given by the jury on the day of the National Finals.
