ICG Goa University Essay Writing Competition 2016

ICG Essay Writing Competition 2016 under the name "Idea Unleashed" is conducted by International Centre Goa and Goa University where applicants will have to write a 2500 words essay on the topic Raising the Standard of Higher Education in Goa: Challenges & Solutions

International center of Goa has come up with the Second Edition of their ICG Essay Writing Competition 2016 - Ideas Unleashed which is is for the encouragement of the Goa students who are currently enrolled with the given below list of institutions only

List of Participating Colleges 

• Goa University
• Colleges which are affiliated with Goa University
• Birla Institute of Technology & Science (Goa Campus)
• Goa Institute of Management
• National Institute of Technology (Goa)
• Indian Institute of Technology (Goa)

Applicants have to submit their completed essays before the last date i.e. October 31, 2016. The top-ranked participant will receive the cash prize of Rs 25,000 in the ICG Essay Writing Competition.

Essay Topic: ‘Raising the Standard of Higher Education in Goa: Challenges & Solutions’.

Top 3 winners of the ICG Essay writing competition will receive the cash prize with the certificate of merit and the felicitation at the function at International Centre Goa. The top 3 prizes for the students are as follows:

Other benefits

• Names of the persons who have written the prize-winning essays will be informed to local media by press release and will be displayed on ICG and Goa University website.
• Winners will be felicitated at the ICG function and every effort will be made for publishing the essays in the local newspaper.

Participants will have to submit the essay online as well as offline. Steps for the submission and application of the ICG Essay Writing Competition are given below:

STEP 1: The participants have to download the personal information form via the link given below.

STEP 2: Now the participants have to fill the personal information form in which they have to provide personal details like name, address, contact detail, age and the name of college or institute.

STEP 3: Now the participants have to attach this filled personal information form along with essay whose submission details are provided below.

Submission of the Essays

Participants have to submit their essays online as well offline (both) by attaching the required documents given below:

• Personal Application Form
• Copy of student's college ID Card
• Participants Essay

Online Submission: Participants will have to send their essay and required documents via email at program@incentgoa.com before the due date i.e October 30, 2016.

Offline Submission: Along with the online submission participants has to send their essay along with the copy of documents to the address given below

Submission Guidelines

• The Essay should not exceed 2500 words.
• The participant will be required to declare any assistance received during the writing of the essay and the sources or references used in writing the essay should be duly acknowledged in the essay.
• The essay writing must be original work of the participants and must not be submitted elsewhere before.
• All the essays will become the joint property of ICG & Goa University. Each participant automatically grants ICG & Goa University the right to reproduce, publish and transmit.

Review of Essay by the Screening Committee: First, all received essay will be reviewed by a screening committee constituted by ICG and Goa University and then all the selected essays will be submitted for final review to a panel of judges which will be also selected by ICG and Goa University.

Selection of Top 3 Essays: The screening committee and the panel of judges will finally select the top 3 essay whose winners will be contacted via Email after December 15, 2016.
