Green Olympiad 2022 by TERI

Green Olympiad 2022 is an online examination on the environment for school students organized by TERI. Green Olympiad was initiated by TERI in the year 1999 and in 2012, more than two lakh students have participated in the Green Olympiad examination. The Green Olympiad is supported and endorsed by various international organizations such as UNESCO, CBSE, MoEF, KVS, and NVS. Besides, Green Olympiad has got constant support from the Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India, since 1999. Green Olympiad is conducted by Educating Youth for Sustainable Development Division of TERI - The Energy and Resources Institute.

Green Olympiad will be conducted for classes 4 to 12 in 4 levels i.e. Level 1, 2,3 and 4 and will be conducted in the English language.

Green Olympiad 2022 Theme and Exam Details

GREEN Olympiad 2022 will cover two issues of topical interest:

• Environment and Sustainable Development
• Green Skills + Environment and Sustainable Development

Green Olympiad exam will be conducted online on the above-given dates, and the schools are allowed to choose anyone.

• Green Olympiad Toppers - The top scorers from each level will get a Residential eco-camp at TERI's Himalayan Centre in Mukteshwar, Uttarakhand.
• Internship opportunities for top-scoring students
• E-certificates for all participants
• Book vouchers for global and country winners

The students have to register for Green Olympiad 2022 through their schools and individual registration would also be accepted. The Green Olympiad registration process is through online mode. The school management can also download the Green Olympiad Registration Form from the official website of Green Olympiad.

• Individual registration from students is accepted.

Both national and international schools can apply for the Green Olympiad exam by filling out the entry form. A school can nominate as many students as it wishes. There is no upper limit to the number of nominations from a school.

Participating schools can pay the registration fee through the payment gateway or the registration fee can be paid by transferring it to the following account. 

Submission of Green Olympiad Registration Form: The submission of the Green Olympiad Registration Form can be done through the online mode or schools can also opt for offline submission.

Green Olympiad will be conducted at four levels according to the different classes of the students. They are given below:

• Level 1- students from classes 4 and 5
• Level 2- students from classes 6, 7, and 8
• Level 3- students from classes 9 and 10
  
• Level 4: students from classes 11 and 12

How to Prepare for Green Olympiad 2022?

• Read: To prepare for Green Olympiad, the students should read as many articles as they can on environmental issues in magazines, newspapers, books, journals, and encyclopedias.
• Watch Informative TV Channels: The students can watch channels such as Discovery, Animal Planet, National Geographic, etc., on television.

Green Olympiad Books

The students can order a copy of 'Enviro-Challenge': a well-researched question bank containing over 500 questions on diverse topics on the environment for the preparation of the Green Olympiad and Terra Quiz. 

• Enviro Challenge by TERI Publications - The Book is divided into two sections: Multiple-Choice, and Short Questions. The book contains over 500 selected questions on diverse topics, such as Agriculture, Air, Biodiversity, Energy, Fuel and Transport, Personalities, Policies, Waste, Water, and much more.

Students who are going to appear in the Green Olympiad examination should take a look at Green Olympiad Sample Paper. Green Olympiad 2022 Exam Pattern

• It will be a multiple-choice questions Exam containing 50 questions.
• There is No Negative marking scheme.
• It will be conducted in the English Language.
• It will be a 1-hour examination and can be taken at any time between 10:00 am–7:00 pm

Green Olympiad 2022 Syllabus

Green Olympiad Examination will cover a broad  range of topics like

• Water, Energy, Air,
• Forest, Biodiversity,
• Climate, Global Warming, Sustainable Development
• Culture and Current Affairs about Environment

Questions related to the following sub-topics will be covered:
(i) Environment & Sustainable Development: Water, waste, energy, air, agriculture, forests, biodiversity, health, climate change, traditional wisdom, and other issues related to sustainable development.
(ii) Green Skills: 21st-century skills, green infrastructure, circular economy, agriculture, forestry, oceans, fisheries, renewable energy, biofuels, packaging and processing, green technologies, green jobs and policies.

Green Olympiad Result 2022

The scores of the answers given will be calculated to tabulate the results. A complete mark and rank list will be sent to the schools or can be accessed on the official website of TERI. The green olympiad result is declared in two parts - Results for Indian Schools and the Result for International Schools. The candidate can check the result by entering their School Code or their Roll Number. Candidates can click on the following link to check their results.
