About GREAT Scholarship Programme - India
British Council has announced the launch of the GREAT Britain Scholarships Programme in India and will provide more than 198 scholarships amounting to approximately 1 million pounds.(Approx 15 Crores).
It is one of the largest scholarships programme, launched in February 2012 to help Indian students in fulfilling the dreams to study in the United Kingdom. The scholarship is part of GREAT Campaign.
GREAT is a strategic international marketing programme designed to promote the UK to business, tourism and student markets worldwide in order to enhance the country’s global reputation. Through this scholarship, Study in UK is promoted amongst the students of India.
Great Scholarship Participating Institutes & Courses
- Institutes: GREAT Scholarships Programmes includes 40 participating institutions (last year it was 57) from the United Kingdom including England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
- Courses: It offers scholarships for 29 undergraduate courses & 169 post graduate courses. These include Engineering, Law, Business, Art & Design, Biosciences and IT.
- The application process for GREAT Scholarship is open for September 2017 & January 2018 Intake.

GREAT Scholarship Programme - India Reward
GREAT Scholarships Programme-India under British Council Scholarship offers scholarships for both undergraduates and postgraduates in 45 UK-based institutions.
- The reward structure differs from university to university and for different programs. However, each university is offering a certain amount of money as scholarship.
- Number of Scholarships: 198
- Total Reward: 1 million pounds.

Selection process for admission will vary from each institution.
Great Scholarship Programme Participating Universities

- Out of the 40 participating universities, 18 have been ranked amongst Top 200 universities of the world by The Times Higher Education World University Rankings for the year 2015-16.
