About GIZ Internship Program
GIZ Internship Program offered by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit allows the Interns to have an insight of work done at GIZ and will help them complement the theoretical knowledge with hands-on experience of the real world. GIZ Internship programs have a duration of 3 to 6 months but shorter assignments might also be offered depending upon the need and requirement and the candidate should apply atleast 6 months in advance from the time they will be available for the internship. The Internship would be available at any of the GIZ office around the world.
The GIZ Internship program is for undergraduate & post-graduate student who have completed their degree in past 6 months. The applications for GIZ Internships are open round the year and in case no specific position is available, applicants can submit a Speculative Application for Internship.

GIZ came into existence in 2011 when 3 German organisations names as Deutscher Entwicklungsdienst (DED), Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ) and Internationale Weiterbildung und Entwicklung merged.

GIZ Internship Program Reward
As an Intern working with GIZ, the applicants will be given specific tasks to complete at their own under the guidance of a Mentor. Other than that, the work may include:
- In Sectorial or Regional Department: Making strategies, Management of Projects, Assessment & Control, Evaluating & Producing Reports/Studies and compiling Project Overviews.
- In Human Resources Department: Developing HR concepts and be involved in Human Resource Management.
- In Commercial Affairs Department: Producing offers, Settle accounts and Draw up contracts.
- In Language Services: Translate, edit& proofread documents, Revise translation produced by external translators. Working on Terminologies and completing translation management tasks.
While for Internships Abroad, the tasks will be agreed individually and will be related to the main goal of Project’s Work. The task may include:
- Analysis, planning and evaluation of project activities.
- Implementation of international cooperation instruments.
- Taking on technical tasks within the scope of project activities.
GIZ Internship Program Application form and Process
There is no specific last date to apply for the Internship opportunities and applications can be made anytime of the year. The Internship opportunities are available for a very short duration of time so the candidates are requested to apply only 6 months prior to when he’ll be available for the Internship.
The available internships can be found at ‘Internship vacancies’ page and the applications can be made by clicking at Apply Online Now button located at the end of the information. In case no suitable Internship is not available candidates can always make ‘Speculative Application for Internship’
As in Intern candidates are required to just fill the information being asked under ‘Qualification’ column.
