About European Union-The Hindu Centre Essay Competition
- The European Union Delegation to India in association with The Hindu Centre for Politics and Public Policy has launched Essay Competition MyClimateMyFuture, on the challenges posed by climate change. It is open to undergraduate & post graduate students and looks for creative but practical ideas which can be used to tackle Climate Change Challenge.
- This initiative is a part of the "European Climate Diplomacy Day"
- The Essay writing competition provides a platform to the People of India to 'Voice Out' their concerns and come out with possible solutions for the effects of climate change on the country. Topics for the Essay Writing Competition are:
- Undergraduate and Postgraduate Students who are Residents of India are eligible to participate and have to write an Essay to participate.
- Top 3 Essays will be selected and authors of those essays will be taken on a four-day study tour of Europe.

- After an evaluation process involving experts, THREE WINNERS will be selected.
- The Winners will be invited for a short study tour to Europe.
- Winning essays will be published on the print and digital media of the organisers with the names of the authors
Terms and Conditions
- The winners' trip will be a group tour scheduled so as not to interfere with exams.
- Individual constraints will be considered, their acceptance cannot be guaranteed.
- The decision of the organisers and judges on all matters will be non-negotiable and final.

Candidates need to write essay of 1500 words on the below given topics in English
- Climate Change in India: Challenges and Solutions
- Making India's Growth Sustainable
- Clean Development in India: the Way Forward for Towns and Cities
In the Essay candidates have to cover practical suggestions as much for big ideas as for low-cost innovation, or jugaad, in informal parlance.
Format of the Essay
- There should be a Gap of single line between paragraphs
- There should be single spacing between lines of a paragraph
- 12 point Times New Roman font has to be used in Composition.
Points to Ponder
- Essays must be original and unpublished
- Avoid Plagiarism or canvassing in any form as it might lead to automatic disqualification

- The evaluation process and selection of winners would be concluded by September 2015.
- The three winners will be announced in October 2015
Before the actual announcement of the Winners, they will be asked to present satisfactory proof of their eligibility in the form of a photo identity card.
