About DHTE Meghalaya Scholarship

DHTE Meghalaya Scholarship 2018 will be offered by Directorate of Higher and Technical Education (DHTE), Meghalaya to those students who pursue higher education in pure science stream and have honours in one of the subjects. Students who pursue higher education in Applied Science such as Engineering, Medical, Agriculture, Bio-Technology, Bio-Medical, BSc Nursing, Computer Application, Allied Medicine etc. are not eligible for the DHTE Meghalaya Scholarship scheme. The application process for the scholarship is started; interested candidates can submit their application form by 30 November 2017. DHTE Meghalaya Scholarship will be given for study in science all recognized UG/PG/PhD courses pursued in recognized institutions.

DHTE Meghalaya Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

Class/ Age Candidates with higher secondary/ graduation/ post-graduation 
  • Only candidates who belonging to Meghalaya and have permanent residences in this state are eligible to apply.
  • Candidates must have completed their higher secondary/ graduation/ post-graduation from the recognized University or Board of Secondary Education in science with and pursuing the same to be eligible to apply.
  • Candidates must have minimum 45% marks in their higher secondary/ graduation level/ post-graduation.
  • The annual income of the candidate’s beneficiary/parent or guardian of beneficiary should not more than Rs. 4.50 Lakh from all sources.
  • All children of the same parents/ guardian will be permitted to avail the benefits of the DHTE Meghalaya Scholarship scheme.
Not Eligible: Candidates, who are pursuing part-time courses/ correspondence courses, won’t be eligible for this scholarship.

DHTE Meghalaya Scholarship Reward

Selected candidates will get the full fee waiver for their study from BSc. till PhD level by the State of Meghalaya. The scholarship will be awarded for BSc, MSc, PhD - 55 level and the distribution of scholarship is mentioned below.

DHTE Meghalaya Scholarship Application form and Process

The applicants have to fill the application form to apply for DHTE Meghalaya Scholarship. The application forms can be collected from their respective institutes. The candidates have to submit the duly filled in application form to the institute.

Individual application forms will be issued and accepted only by the students studying outside. The candidates can also download the application forms from the official website of Director Higher & Education, Meghalaya.

Submission of the Application
The duly filled application form has to be submitted to the institute. The principal of the institute will submit the candidate’s application form in the soft and hardcopy in excel format. The candidates should be careful while filling up the form as because the form once submitted will not be retained or can be edited.

DHTE Meghalaya Scholarship Selection Process

The selection of the candidate will be based on their class 12 result. The distribution of scholarship is strictly based on merit. In the case of a tie, in class 12 percentage between candidates, English subject will be a tie-breaker else parent’s income will be taken into consideration.

If the number of the candidates applied for this scholarship scheme exceeds the Physical target, the scholarship will be restricted to that number of student who occupied top slots in the merit list.

Cancellation of DHTE Meghalaya Scholarship

  • Misconduct of the awardees, if any, reported by the University/College/Institution.
  • Unsatisfactory progress report i.e. if the candidate scores less than 45% marks in the first year of Bachelor’s/ Master’s programme (40% in case of Physically Challenged awardee)
  • Candidates being found ineligible at a late date shall face the penal action and will also be liable to refund the entire scholarship amount paid.
