About CIASC 2020
CSIR Innovation Award for School Children program is conducted by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). The programme invites the applications from the children below the age of 18 years with their original creative, technical ideas in the proposal form. CSIR has announced the schedule and the participants can submit their entry before 30 April 2020. The eligible candidates have to send their original creative and & innovative technological and design ideas to participate in the competition CSIR Innovation Award for School Children. Top 15 candidates will be selected for cash prizes and a certificate.
The innovative ideas should be one that is novel and utilitarian, and the idea or design should be a new concept to solve an existing problem. The students participating in the competition can also use any different but related design ideas. The concept of the innovation should have been proved through a model, a prototype or an experimental data.

CIASC 2020 Reward
Total 15 candidates will be awarded the cash prize and a certificate under the CSIR Innovation Award for School Children (CIASC). CSIR will select top 15 innovative entries for the award. The top 15 candidates will be given the cash prize as follows:

CIASC 2020 Application form and Process
The students want to participate in the competition have to submit the details of their creative & innovation ideas/proposal in English or Hindi within 5000 words through email and also via post. The proposal(s) would be categorized in groups such as Biotechnology, Biology, Chemistry, Electronics & Engineering/device and design. However design-based applications are encouraged.
The write-up must describe the subject matter in a problem-solution mode, highlighting the novel features of the innovation and its advantages.
The participants also have to send a scanned copy of the authentication letter from the school where they are currently studying along with a separate page where the following details must be written:
- Title of the innovation
- Name of the participant
- Date of birth of the participant
- Name of the school where the participant is currently enrolled in
- Residential address of the participant
- Class
- Contact number
- Email ID
CSIR Innovation Award Application Submission
The participants have to submit the hard copy of their application in an A4 sized envelope (‘CIASC-2020’ must be written on the top left) via registered post or courier to the address given below:

CIASC 2020 Selection Process
A high award selection committee organized by CSIR will play a key role in the award selection process. The proposal for CIASC award 2020 should relate to innovations developed published exhibited during the period from 1 January 2019 to 31 December 2019 first, the selection committee will select the best 50 entries of the participants by screening and evaluation of their submitted applications. Now, these top 50 shortlisted applicants will be provided with a training-cum-awareness which is related to IPR by innovation protection unit (IPU) of CSIR.
- The training program would be organized in July 2020, and the training may be accompanied by the teachers. The participants will have a chance to gain knowledge on intellectual property rights including the concepts, and the candidates will also be trained to write patent or design applications.
- The selection of top 15 candidates for cash prize & certificate will be based on the performance of the candidates in training-cum-awareness. The decision of the award selection committee/CSIR will be final and any query related to the selection process will not be accepted.
CSIR Innovation Award Result
The top 15 students selected in CSIR Innovation Award for School Children Programme will be awarded the prizes on 26 September 2020. Selected students and accompanying teachers would be given travel allowance at the time of the training.
