About Commonwealth Photography Competition
Commonwealth Photography Competition 2016 will give the opportunity to 53 member countries of Commonwealth to demonstrate their photography skills. The competition is jointly organized by all the commonwealth nations. The application starts on March 14, 2016, and the last date to apply is April 25, 2016.
Theme: An Inclusive Commonwealth
The image should reflect Spirit of inclusiveness, Richness of culture,Strength of diversity

Applicants must be of the following 53 countries: Antigua and Bermuda, Australia, Bahamas, Bangladesh, Belize, Barbados, Botswana, Brunei, Cameroon, Canada, Cyprus, Dominica, Fiji, Ghana, Grenada, Guyana, India, Jamaica, Kenya, Kiribati, Lesotho, Malawi, Malaysia, Maldives, Malta, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Nauru, New Zealand, Nigeria, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Rwanda, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Samoa, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Singapore, Solomon Islands, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Swaziland, Tanzania, Tonga, Trinidad and Tobago, Tuvalu, Uganda, United Kingdom, Vanuatu and Zambia. Entrants are not permitted to submit entries that have previously been awarded any prize, recommendation or another award in a national or international competition. |

- The winning photographs will form part of an exhibition at the Commonwealth Secretariat's headquarters in London throughout 2016.
- These photographs will also feature in a new Commonwealth Calendar for 2017 and be published and promoted on the Commonwealth's website and social media accounts.
Commonwealth Photography Competition Application form and Process
The Application will be made online and following details have to be submitted. Photos must have been taken in a Commonwealth member country.
No.of Photos: One Photo Per Submission
- Entrant's name
- Entrant's nationality
- A photo caption (maximum 500 characters.)
- The location of where the photo was taken
- A photo description explaining why/how the photo represents 'An Inclusive Commonwealth'
- File size must be less that 4MB
- Entries must be submitted in JPEG, PNG or TIFF format.
- No borders, watermarks or signatures are to be included.
- Smart phone entries are welcomed and encouraged.

- Strength of diversity
All the photos submitted must demonstrate the ethos and way of living in commonwealth nations.

Commonwealth Photography Competition Selection Process
Selection will be based on the following criteria
- Relation to the theme - how closely does the photography relate to the theme of 'An Inclusive Commonwealth'?
- Composition - how has the shot been framed?
- What angle is it shot from?
- What is the subject of the image?
- Focus - is the subject of the photo immediately clear?
- Difficulty - how difficult was the shot to obtain? Originality of idea
