About British Life Photography Awards
British life Photography Awards 2017 is a platform to showcase contemporary and imaginative images that imprisonments the spirit and soul of British Life. The photographs should showcase contemporary and imaginative images that capture the essence and spirit of British life. Photos should have been taken in UK of Great Britain Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man or the Channel Islands so all those who are residents of these places or those who have visited these places can share their photographs and enter the British life Photography Awards 2017 photography competition.
- Candidates have a chance to win the prestigious Photography Award and grab the First prize too which is valued at £6000. The competition is open to all the photographers across the World both amateur and professional.
- The competition is open for entries now. The closing date is 2 September 2017.

British Life Photography Awards Application form and Process
Candidates have to apply ONLINE. Photographs must have been taken in the United Kingdom of Great Britain Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man or the Channel Islands.
Step by Step Application Procedure
- Once registered, candidates can upload images to their light box at any time for free.
- Images entered by the candidate will not be shown to the public till the candidate desires so.
- Once all the entries have been uploaded candidates can submit their Entry into the competition.
How to buy the Credits
- Credit Cost: £5 per Credit
- Candidates can buy the Credits using Paypal Account.
- Benefits of Credit: The more credits you buy, the more images you can enter

Ways to use Credits Wisely
- Save all your images ready in the lightbox and then submit them in a single batch it may save you money
- Submitting them in several smaller batches will use up more credits
Specifications of the Image to be uploaded
- Captions and File Names: Candidates have to give their Entries File Name for their own convenience and Captions for the convenience of Judges.
- Pixels: It should not be more than 1024 pixels along the longest side
- The file should be as large as you can achieve with your equipment.
- The image should have been taken using a camera or phone with a sufficiently high resolution so that it can be reproduced at A4 size or above
- Processing images and Manipulation: Minor cleaning work including removal of sensor spots and dust, moderate adjustments of: contrast, tonal values, levels, highlight and shadow, colour, curves, saturation, sharpening, white balance and noise is permitted
- Cropping is allowed
- Conversion to black and white is fine
- The colour profile for all digital images should be Adobe RGB 98
Things to be taken care of
- Do not upload larger images, as they will be resized anyway and very large files may not upload successfully.
- Avoid borders, watermarks or signatures
- TIFF files will not be accepted for the initial round.
- Digital collages, sandwich shots and composites
- Physical changes are not allowed
- Double exposures and other images that have been manipulated outside of the rules are not eligible.
British Life Photography Awards Selection Process
- The judging process will begin soon after the closing date.
- A panel of photography experts “the Judges” will select images based upon technical skill, diversity, originality and creativity of composition.
- The shortlisted candidates will be contacted and will then have approximately 12 days to supply a high-resolution file.Candidates whose images are shortlisted, will be asked to supply an extended caption and in some cases other information.
- All winners will be notified by phone or email. A list of the winners will be published on the competition website.
