Time Limit for CBSE Mark Sheet Correction Revised!
CBSE Mark Sheet correction time limit is revised by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on 10 November 2017. As per the official notice released by the CBSE, the students of the Central Board of Secondary Education will now be able to seek correction in their name, date of birth, father’ name and mother’s name as mentioned in their mark sheet within five years of the declaration of CBSE results. The new rule made by the CBSE will be applicable to CBSE 10 mark sheet correction and CBSE 12 mark sheet correction after 2015 and the new rule is very helpful for more than 18,000 schools affiliated to the board.

The revised time limit will also apply to current on-going cases which are already been received by the CBSE regional offices and headquarters. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has made the new rule as a number of students were applying for correction even years after passion out the board exams. Previous CBSE Mark Sheet Correction Rules
Earlier, the CBSE students had maximum one year time to seek CBSE name correction on their mark sheet. The students were allowed to seek correction in name, surname and other details on the basis of an affidavit and a newspaper advertisement copy by the applicants. Before 2015 Notification, the students had no time limit for seeking fresh certificates with corrected names and other details.

Many members of the CBSE board were agreed to fix the 1-year window because they felt that the students might be using the system to get a new identity with a change in names and other details to take other benefits.

- The candidates can now make corrections in their name, date of birth, father’ name and mother’s name as mentioned in their mark sheet within five years of the declaration of CBSE results.
- The new rule of mark sheet correction made by the CBSE will be applicable to CBSE 10 & 12 mark sheet issued after 2015
- The revised time limit of mark sheet correction will also apply to current on-going cases which are already been received by the CBSE regional offices and headquarters
