Lucknow University reverted the decision of making CAT mandatory because the decision of making CAT compulsory for admission did not work as assumed. Earlier, Lucknow University has been admitting students through CAT and MBA Entrance Test scores for past several years. But this year, when Lucknow University decided to take admissions only through CAT scores, it turned out as a fiasco. Only 75 applications are received for admission into their six MBA courses for the academic session 2018-19 against 540 MBA seats and 465 seats are still remaining.

Therefore considering this, Lucknow University has reversed its decision and now inviting the admission based on Lucknow University Management Entrance Test (LUMET). As per the SP Singh vice-chancellor of Lucknow University, he said - "This year, we decided to take admissions only through CAT scores. However, since many seats were vacant, we have decided to switch back to the old process."

• So that now the candidates who never appeared in the Common Admission Test can now pursue MBA from Lucknow University
• Although, the candidates who scored low in CAT can appear in entrance test for a good rank in the merit list. 

Selection process for MBA in Lucknow University

The selection of the candidates will be done based on CAT or LUMET scores which would be followed by a Personal Interview and finally the merit list will be prepared based on which the admission will be granted to the students.
