CBSE Relaxes Qualifying Percentage for Class 10 Boards - As per meeting held on 16 February 2018, a big decision was taken by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) by providing relaxation in pass percentage to the students appeared in Class 10 Board Exam. Since made Class 10 Board examination compulsory after 7 years, the students were not happy with the decision. The Class 10 Board Exam was optional until 2017 but from the current year, the board exams have become mandatory for Class 10 students. On this page, the information about the relaxation in pass percentage for Class 10 is given.
There is a circular issued by the CBSE Board which says that the students need to secure overall 33% in the subject to pass that particular subject. This percentage includes both the internal assessment and that Board exam marks. However, this is functional for the students of this batch only.

As the candidates know that they need to secure 33% only to pass the exam and this is functional one time only. However, the one-time rule is also applicable to National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF) student for 5 Major subjects (2 languages, science, mathematics, social science).
The provision of replacement of subjects extended to the NSQF students "for the failed subjects" (out of the three subjects - science, mathematics and social science) by the vocational subject passed by the candidate under NSQF) would continue to apply.
But for vocational subjects there will be no exemption from separate pass criteria as the internal assessment component of these subjects comprises of 50 marks. In these subjects, mandatory separate pass criteria of securing 33% both in internal as well as Board examination will apply.

Concessions for Students with Disability
Apart from the passing marks relaxation, CBSE board also allowed some concessions for students with disabilities as they can use a computer to perform in the examination however arrangement will not be provided by the board, the candidate has to arrange it by their own. Students with disabilities have been given the provision to have a reader in case they do not want scribe to read the paper.
