Statements of Officials regarding CBSE Board Exam 2018 to begin in February
- According to CBSE Chairman R K Chaturvedi, “This would also advance the date of declaration of results, which generally come around the third or fourth week of May, The examinations should start around February 15 and we are also planning to complete them within a month.”
- Declaration of results earlier will help the CBSE students in the undergraduate admission process. Otherwise, it has been a neck and neck affair, said the chairperson.
- RK Chaturvedi said that the month of April 2017, experienced teachers are not available because of the vacations. Therefore, the evaluation of answer scripts in mid-March 2017 will ensure the availability of best teachers. Otherwise, during vacations in April, schools offer only temporary, ad-hoc and newly-appointed teachers for the evaluation process as experienced teachers don’t oblige. This will also offer the board some breathing room to work on results in its bid to make them error-free.
- RK Chaturvedi said, CBSE also planning two evaluators training sessions each year starting December 2017. Since a very few students apply for photocopies re-apply thus the board decided to scrap the practice of re-evaluation, Chaturvedi said. The summer vacations are also cited for another reason.
Other Information related to CBSE Board Exam 2018
According to Chaturvedi there is no point is allowing re-evaluation of 10 questions, either it should be allowed totality or not at all. If the evaluations are error-free then there is no need of re-evaluation. This matter is also being resolved in court. CBSE wants the best and experienced teachers to come for evaluation and it is also going to conduct two training sessions for the evaluators. Every year over 50,000 teachers are engaged in the evaluation process across 2,000 centres. Most of the centres are at Kendriya Vidyalayas. The reason of this change is that it is difficult to get experienced teachers in that period and also stalls the next process of admissions, compartment examinations, disturbing the annual calendar in the process.
