Five types of merit rank will be published by WBJEE on the basis of Candidates’ score in the entrance exam.
- Merit Rank for Diploma Holders in Engineering and Technology other than Printing Technology and Agricultural Engineering
- Merit Rank for Diploma Holders in Printing Technology
- Merit Rank for Diploma Holders in Agricultural Engineering
- Merit Rank for Diploma Holders in Pharmacy
- Merit Rank for B. Sc. Candidates
Note - The above-mentioned list shall be in the form of General Merit Rank (GMR) and separate reserved category ranks e.g. SC-Rank, ST-Rank, OBC-A-Rank, OBC-B-Rank, PwD-Rank will also be published.

- More positive marks in Engineering Mathematics, Electrical Technology, Computer Application and Environmental Engineering has taken together
- Less negative marks in Engineering Mathematics, Electrical Technology, Computer Application and Environmental Engineering has taken together
For Diploma holders in Printed Technology
- Less negative marks in total
- More positive marks in Basic Printing Engineering and Printers Material Science taken together
- Less negative marks in Basic Printing Engineering and Printers Material Science taken together
- More positive marks in Engineering Mathematics, Electrical Technology, Computer Application and Environmental Engineering taken together

NOTE: If a tie is still not resolved using the above method, candidate with older age will be given preference upon the younger age candidate.
WBJEE Counselling after JELET Result 2018
After the declaration of result, shortlisted candidates will be notified of the counselling. The list of shortlisted candidates will be uploaded online. The candidate has to appear at the date assigned to him or her for counselling. The candidate has to bring all the relevant documents at the time of counselling. If the candidate is taking advantage of reservation category, then he or she needs to present the relevant evidence to justify their category.
