NIFT Counselling 2019

NIFT 2019 Counselling online registration will be started in May 2019 after the final result has been declared. The counselling for allotment of seats will be conducted by the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT). The counselling would be conducted based on marks secured by the candidates in the entrance exam that to be held on 21 January 2018 and situation test/GD/Interview. To participate in the rounds of Counselling for admission, the eligible candidates have to first register themselves online at the official website of NIFT. NIFT 2019 Counselling will be conducted at the 16 Campuses of NIFT for admission into the programs B Design, B FTech, M Design, M FTech and MFM.

The NIFT Head Office will coordinate the counselling process at all Campuses of NIFT. Online registration for counselling will be submitted from the last week of May to the 1st week of June 2019. There will be multiple rounds of NIFT Counselling for admission.

Seat Allocation: The candidates belongs to general category have a choice to choose vacant seats available in the NRI category as “Children/Ward of NRI” in order of their merit in the first round of admission counselling. The reserved category candidates also have a choice to choose a seat meant for General Category or from seats reserved for the respective category.

NIFT Counselling Process Important points

• The candidates would be selected for counselling as per their common merit rank in the entrance test, situation test/GD/Interview.
• For the first round of counselling, there is no application fee. However, the candidates have to pay Rs 5000 for the subsequent round of NIFT counselling. The candidates can register themselves online using their application form number, date of birth and password.
• The candidates have to report at the chosen NIFT Campus at 9.30 am on the day of counselling.  The candidates have to verify the required documents and allotment of seats.
• The Campus/Course/Category-wise seat availability chart will be displayed at each NIFT Campuses at the time of Counselling. The candidates can click to select the offered seat in the presence of the Nodal Officer.
• The candidates have to now pay the notified course fee immediately at the counselling campus. The candidates can pay the course fee only through online payment modes such as credit card, debit card or internet banking.

NIFT Counselling Withdrawal and Refundable Fee

The candidate taken admission but want to cancel his/her admission can get a refund of fee. Such candidates have to report personally for withdrawal and refund of the fee at the same campus where admission has been done. The candidates report before the 3rd week of July 2019 will be refunded the full amount of course fee except registration fee. The candidates report after the 3rd week of July 2019 will be refunded 50% of tuition fee only.

Documents required at the time of NIFT Counselling

The candidates selected for admission through counselling process, have to produce the original certificates with a set of photocopies duly attested by a Gazetted Officer or from Principal of School/College (last attended). After admission granted, the photocopies of the document will be retained by the Counselling Campus and original copy of the documents will be returned. The candidates have to bring the following documents at the time of counselling:

• System generated letter/e-mail received by the candidate
• Photograph (2 Passport & 4 Stamp Size)
• Pass Certificate of Class 10+2 or equivalent examination
• Certificate of having passed the 10+2 or equivalent examination showing the subjects offered by him/her in the examination
• Certificate from the Board from which he/she passed the High School/Higher Secondary Examination
• CategoryCertificate from the prescribed authority showing that he/she belongs to a Schedules Caste/ Scheduled Tribe/OBC (Non-Creamy) Category - If Applicable
• Demand Draft of Rs. 110450 (Non-NRI) for semester fee drawn in favour of the NIFT HO payable at the city of the Counselling. The break up of the fee is given below.
• Copy of 12th class School Leaving Certificate (for domicile seats only)
• Valid PWD Certificate - if Applicable
• Copy of 1st, 2nd & 3rd-year graduation mark sheet/ self-attested copy of final year appearing certificate (For Master Programmes)

Following documents have to be submitted in form of Annexures in the Given Format

• Undertaking for the candidate seeking provisional admission
• Undertaking from the students, as per provisions of anti-ragging  
• Undertaking about Eligibility, Fee and Refund
• Medical Fitness Certificate in prescribed format
• Form for Withdrawal of Admission  
• Authorization letter from the candidate who is not in position to attend in person (not applicable for PWD candidates)

Documents to be submitted by the NRI Category Students

• The undertaking signed by the NRI/Foreign National (As per Annexure 8)
• Photocopy of the passport of the NRI/Foreign National attested by the Indian Consulate of the Embassy or by the Solicitor of the country where the NRI / Foreign National resides.
•  Demand Draft of Rs.724200 (Rs. Seven lakh twenty-four thousand two hundred only) in favour of NIFT H.O. payable at the city in which candidate is attending the Counselling. 
• Other documents as given above.
