CLAT Syllabus and Exam Pattern for (LLB) UG Admission

- English including Comprehension: The candidates need to focus on English based comprehension passages and grammar. In the comprehension section, they will be questioned on the understanding of a passage including its central theme and word-meanings. Some of the questions will also cover questions like correction of the incorrect grammatical sentences, fill in the blanks with appropriate words, etc.
- General Knowledge and Currents Affairs: This section will test the knowledge of general awareness including static GK. Apart from GK, questions would be asked from the recent topics and current affairs broadly with the latest news.
- Mathematics: Basic knowledge of mathematical problems at the elementary level is a necessity. The questions will generally of the numerical ability type of Class 10 level. So it is better to prepare from the NCERT books for preparation of this section.
- Legal Aptitude: CLAT 2018 will also test the basic knowledge and interest of students towards a study of law, research aptitude and problem-solving ability. Candidates will be given situations related to legal propositions and candidates will be required to judge the truth behind these situations and answer accordingly.
- Logical Reasoning: Candidates appearing for CLAT 2018 will also have to solve logical questions which involve identifying patterns, logical links and rectification of illogical arguments. The logical reasoning section of CLAT 2018 will also include questions related to syllogisms, logical sequences, analogies, etc.
