JEE Main Paper 2 2019 will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) and it is scheduled to be held from 6, 12, 13, 19 and 20 January 2019. NTA JEE Main Paper 2 will be held for admission to the B.Arch and B.Planning programmes of the various JEE Main colleges. JEE Main 2019 Paper 2 will consist of three parts i.e. Mathematics in Part I, Aptitude Test in Part II and Drawing test in Part III. The JEE Main Paper 2 part I and II will be held in computer based mode while part III will be held in Pen-paper based mode. Candidates appearing for JEE Main Paper 2 must make sure that they carry their own pencils, geometry box set, erasers, colour pencils and crayons on the day of the test.

JEE Main 2019 Paper 2 is an architecture entrance exam for admission to the various colleges offering B.Arch and B.Planning programmes. NTA has released JEE Main paper 2 registration form and it is available till 30 September 2018. The JEE Main B.Arch and B.Planning admit card will be available from 17 December 2018 to candidates who have successfully submitted the application form on or before the last date. What is new in JEE Main Paper 2?

This is the first time, NTA will be conducting JEE Main 2019 exam. The first two parts (Mathematics and Aptitude) of JEE Main 2019 Paper 2 will be held in computer based mode while the third part i.e. drawing will be held in pen-paper based mode. Some of the changes introduced by NTA in JEE Main Paper 2 are as follows:

  • The test will be held twice a year
  • JEE Main normalization procedure has been re-introduced
  • For the first time the Mathematics section (Part I) will be held in computer-based mode only
  • The JEE Main application fee has been reduced
  • Candidates can appear for both the test and the best score will be calculated for admission

JEE Main Paper 2 - Eligibility Criteria

It is important for aspirants to make sure that they fulfil the JEE Main eligibility norms before applying for JEE Main Paper 2. If candidates fail to meet any of the eligibility norms, then their candidature will be cancelled on or before the admission rounds. Also, applicants must remember that the JEE Main Paper 2 eligibility criteria will vary with the category of candidates.   • There is no age limit to appear for JEE Main Paper 2
  • Candidates who have their Class 12 board examination in 2017 or 2018 are eligible
  • Also, aspirants appearing for their Class 12 board exam can also apply for the test
  • Candidates are required to take at least five subjects in their Class 12 board exam or equivalent examination
  • Applicants with a diploma can also apply but they are not eligible for admission to NITs, IIITs and CFTIs

What is the Difference Between JEE Mains Paper 2 and NATA?

Admission to the five-year architecture programmes across various institutes in India is done through either National Aptitude Test for Architecture (NATA) or Joint Entrance Exam (JEE Main Paper 2). Also, some architecture colleges accept both NATA as well as JEE Main Paper 2 scores. However, one must note that both JEE Main Paper 2 and NATA are different from each other. JEE Main Paper 2 Registration 2019

Applicants who have gone through all the eligibility norms can start filling the JEE Main paper 2 application form. Candidates must note that JEE Main registration form 2019 is available online only. It is necessary for candidates to complete the JEE Paper 2 application process on or before the last date. While filling the application for JEE Main 2019 paper 2, candidates must make sure that all the entered details are correct.

To conclude the JEE Main paper 2 application process, candidates are required to pay the fee. The application fee can be paid online and through e-challan. JEE Main paper 2 application fee will vary with the category of candidates. Also, candidates who are applying the JEE Main Paper 2 exam cities outside India are required to pay more than the ones applying in India.

JEE Main Paper 2 Exam Pattern 2019

To start with the preparatory studies for JEE Main 2019, candidates must be aware of the structure of the questions i.e. the JEE Main paper 2 exam pattern. As per the JEE Main exam pattern for Paper 2, there will be a total of 82 questions and the total score will be 390 only. JEE Main Paper 2 Syllabus 2019

While preparing for JEE Main Paper 2, aspirants are advised to be thorough with the exam syllabus. Only with the help of JEE Main syllabus, candidates will get to know about the various topics and sub-topics on which the questions will be based. JEE Main Paper 2 Question Paper

After going through the syllabus and test pattern of JEE Main 2019, aspirants are advised to practice and solve the previous years' JEE Main question papers for Paper 2. The JEE Main paper 2 question papers are available online and students can download and solve the same to know their preparation level.

After solving each JEE Main Paper 2 question papers, candidates are required to analyse their answers to know about the topics where they are having a hard time. Thus, they can improve on that particular topic and their preparation level. Also, solving a JEE Main Paper 2 question papers will contain questions much similar, therefore aspirants will get to know about the distribution and weightage of topics in the exam. Analysis of JEE Mains Paper 2 (Previous year's)

JEE Main Paper 2 Colleges 2019

Every year, more than 350 Architecture colleges offer admission to candidates on the basis of JEE Main Paper 2 scores. Among these colleges, there are only 9 NITs and 6 CFTIs that will offer admission to their 946 B.Arch and B.Planning seats. While applying for JEE Main Paper 2, aspirants must make sure that each of these JEE Main B.Arch colleges will have their own eligibility norms.

Admission to these colleges will be granted through a JoSAA, based on their All India Rank. However, there are few colleges that will be granted admission on the basis of scores obtained in NATA. The National Institutes of Technology (NITs) will allot seat to their B.Arch and B.Planning programmes after the conclusion of CSAB counselling rounds.

JEE Main Paper 2 Answer Key 2019

After the conduct of JEE Main paper 2 exam, NTA will be releasing the answer key. The aspirants who appeared for the test can download the JEE Main Paper 2 answer key online. After obtaining the answer key of JEE Main Paper 2, candidates are required to match their responses against the provided keys. For each correct match, students must award themselves 1 mark while deducting 0.25 marks for wrong attempts.

With the help of answer keys, candidates will be able to estimate their scores and predict their ranks. Also, they can go through the JEE Main Paper 2 cutoff scores to estimate their scores. In case of any discrepancy in JEE Main Paper 2 answer keys, candidates can challenge them. However, they are required to provide a fee to do the same.

JEE Main Paper 2 - Cut Off (B.Arch and B. Planning)

The JEE Main Paper 2 cutoff marks for the minimum marks that a candidate must obtain to get shortlisted for the counselling rounds. These JEE Main cutoff for Paper 2 will be prepared after the announcement of the result. The various JEE Main Paper 2 participating institutes will prepare the cutoff based on factors like -

  • Total number of test takers
  • The difficulty level of the test
  • Total seats available

Candidates must note that the JEE Main B.Arch and B.Planning cutoff will vary with the institutes. Also, the JEE Main paper 2 cutoff will be different as per the category. JEE Main Paper 2 Result 2019

JEE Main Paper 2 Result (All India Rank) is scheduled to be announced online and it will provide the candidate's sectional percentile, overall percentile, category-wise rank and All India rank. The JEE Main Paper 2 Result will be available for all the candidates who have appeared for the computer-based test. Based on candidate's scores and ranks, they will be shortlisted for the counselling rounds of the various participating institutes. To check JEE Main result for Paper 2, candidates are required to follow the procedure given below -

  • Enter JEE Main Roll Number
  • Enter Date of Birth as provided on the registration form
  • Click on the submit button
  • Download and save the JEE Main paper 2 result

JEE Main Paper 2 Selection Process

The admission to the various NITs, CFTIs, IIITs, the following factors will be considered -

  • Candidates will be allotted All India Ranks on the basis of the JEE Main 2019 Scores 
  • Candidates will be offered admission on the basis of the JEE Main Paper 2 scores
  • Further, the admission will be offered based on the choices by the candidates during JEE Main 2019 Counselling.
  • All the JEE Main 2019 Participating Institutes other than the NITs or Centrally funded institutes may prepare their own ranking on the basis of the JEE Main 2019 scores as per the criteria decided by them
