NDA Syllabus 2018 (Subject wise) for students seeking admission to Army, Navy and Air Force Wings of the NDA course and Indian Naval Academy Course has been provided in this page. NDA Syllabus 2018 has been prescribed by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). NDA exam syllabus 2018 is divided into two papers – Mathematics and General Ability Test. The syllabus of NDA 2018 is to judge candidates on the basis of their logical ability and general awareness. NDA syllabus PDF is also available on this page. The Mathematics section in NDA 2018 syllabus will be of total 200 marks, while General Ability Test will be of 600 marks. The paper II (general ability test) of NDA syllabus 2018 will be divided into two parts – English (200 marks) and General Knowledge (600 marks).

NDA (II) will be conducted on 9 September 2018 by UPSC. The exam will be conducted in offline mode containing objective type questions. NDA Exam Syllabus General Ability Test (Part 2), Exam Pattern
NDA 2018 syllabus of General Ability Test has been categorized into two parts – English and General Knowledge. The part 2 i.e. General Knowledge is also five sections. Check the syllabus below.

NDA Syllabus for SSB Interview
The NDA SSB procedure consists of a two-stage Selection process. Only those candidates who clear Stage I are permitted to appear for Stage II. Given below is the NDA Syllabus as well as Interview Procedure for both the stages of the SSB Interview.
NDA Syllabus 2018 - Intelligence and Personality Test
The SSB (Service Selection Board) interview procedure consists of two stages – Stage I and II. Only aspirants who will qualify in stage I will be eligible to appear for stage II. During the selection stages I and II, the tests will be conducted by authorities, which can also be considered as a part of NDA syllabus 2018. The details are mentioned below.
- Stage I consists of Officer Intelligence Rating (OTR) tests and Picture Perception and Description Test (PP&DT). Candidates appearing in stage I will be shortlisted on the basis of performance in OTR test and PP & DT.
- Stage II will comprise of Interview, Group Testing Officer tasks, Psychology tests and conference. The tests will be conducted in 4 days.
The personality of a candidate is assessed by three different assessors’ viz. by Interviewing Officers (IO), Group Testing Officer (GTO) and the Psychologists
Officer Intelligence Rating Test (Stage 1)
OIR test is a written exam consisting of 54-55 questions consisting of simple linguistic, logical, analytical, and mathematical questions to test the common sense of the candidates. The candidate has to solve a lot of questions in very less time.NDA Syllabus for Officer Intelligence Rating Test consists of two sections Verbal and Non-verbal:
- Verbal section in Officer Intelligence Rating Test consists of multiple type questions based on topics like Relationship, Jumbled words, Coding / Decoding, Antonym and synonym, reconstruction of the sentence, one-word substitution, Odd one out, common sense and alphabet test, Arithmetic questions.
- Non-verbal section consists of questions based on topics such as: Which figure is different from the other, Completion of series, Locate the concealed figure, Fill in the correct figure.
Picture perception and discussion test (PP & DT) Stage 1
In this, the candidates are shown a picture for 30 seconds and then given a minute to note down details of the picture as they remember and 4 minutes to write a story on it. The candidate has to observe the number of characters, their age, mood, environment surrounding and give a Title to the story.
- The candidate then has to narrate the story and then discuss among group members to make a common story which is the second part of the test that is the discussion test.
- Each candidate gets a minute to narrate their own story and 15 minutes o discuss and come to a common story.
- Then they have to narrate the common story as per the consensus of the group.
NDA Syllabus 2018 - Personality Test (Stage 2)
This stage consists of Group Testing Officer Tasks, PsychoTests and the Conference. These tests are conducted over 4 days. NDA Syllabus of these tests are given on the website www.joinindianarmy.nic.in
- The personality of a candidate is assessed by three different assessors viz. the Interviewing Officer (IO), Group Testing Officer (GTO) and the Psychologist. There is no separate weightage for each test. The marks are allotted by assessors only after taking into consideration the performance of the candidate holistically in all the three tests.
- In addition, marks for Conference are also allotted based on the initial performance of the Candidate in the three techniques and decision of the Board. All of these have equal weightage.
- The various tests of IO, GTO and Psychologist are designed to bring out the presence/absence of Officer Like Qualities and their trainability in a candidate. Accordingly, candidates are Recommended or Not Recommended at the SSB for the final selection.
