VIT University, Admission for NRIs and Foreign Nationals 2018-19
VIT University has been established with the main motto to provide quality higher education at par with international standards. The admissions to the B.Tech programs for the year 2017-18 for the NRI/Foreign students has commenced. Below you can find the detailed information regarding the admission to B.Tech Programs in VIT University for the academic session 2018-19.

How can you apply for admission?
The desired candidates can seek admission to the B.Tech Degree Program by taking
VITEEE 2018 or can also take direct admission via NRI category to the VIT University on the basis of the last qualifying exam. It is not mandatory that the candidate has to appear for the Entrance Examination.

Application Process for Direct Admission
Follow this given below instruction while filling the VITEEE 2018 Application form.
- Fields marked with an asterisk are mandatory, therefore fill all the details before proceeding for print out.
- Please ensure that the print page set up of duly filled-in application form is in A4 size only.
- The duly filled-in application form has to be sent along with the relevant documents mentioned in the Admission Procedure
- An application Number will be generated as soon as you fill the application form. Kindly follow the application number so generated for any future correspondence.
- Do not enclose any demand draft with the application form other than the relevant documents, without any intimation from us.

Documents to be uploaded along with the Application Form for NRI/Foreign Candidates
- Recent passport size photograph in jpg format ( Size 3.5 cm * 4.5 cm) of file size 5kb - 200 kb.
- Signature of the Candidate in jpg format - (Size 3.5 cm * 1.5 cm) of file size 20kb-50 kb
- Candidates should attach a copy of Class 10 Mark Sheet or any other age proof certificate. (Max File Size- 2MB)
- Candidates are required to attach a copy of Class 12 Mark Sheet if already cleared. If in case you are pursuing or the result is awaited then you are required to attach a copy of Class 11 Mark sheet.(Max File Size- 2MB)
- Employer’s Certificate issued by the employer containing relevant detailed information about designation of the parents.(Max File Size- 2MB) - Only for NRI Candidates
- The sponsorship letter offered either by father or mother. (For NRI/OCI/PIO) (Max File Size- 2MB) Only for NRI Candidates
- Valid copies of VISA of parents.(Max File Size- 2MB) Only for NRI Candidates

Eligibility Criteria for NRI Candidates
Age Requirement
- Candidates should have born on or after 1 July 1996.
Academic Qualification
- Candidates should have completed 12 years of schooling with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics or Biology or Biotechnology being the main subjects.
- Candidates who have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Biology or Biotechnology as the main subjects are eligible for all the B.tech Degree, Bio-Medical Engineering and Bio-Technology. Not only this but they also eligible to get admitted in B.Tech.Computer Science and Engineering Course. Thereafter it is mandatory to register Mathematics as the main subject.
- If in case the candidate has studied Physical science along with Physics and Chemistry, then they have to produce a certificate of approval duly attested by the school followed by proper approval from AIU/ Board of Studies.
Minimum Qualifying Marks
- Candidate should have secured minimum 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics or Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Biotechnology in the last qualifying exam of Class 12.
Other Relevant Requirements
- Candidates who have an NRI Status their sponsorship had to be given by the parents (either of the ONE).
- Candidates are also required to produce the Employer’s Certificate of either Father or Mother
- Candidates also have to produce valid copies of VISA and passport.
Eligibility Criteria For Foreign Candidates
- Age Requirement
- Candidates should have born on or after 1 July 1996.
- Academic Qualification
- Candidates should have studied English as one of the main subjects in the last qualifying Exam.
- Candidates should have completed 12 years of schooling with Physics and Mathematics being the main subjects.
- The third subject can either be Chemistry or Computer Sciences or Electronics or Biotechnology or Biology (Instead of MPC only) except Biotechnology / Bio-medical Engineering
- Minimum Qualifying Marks
- Candidate should have secured minimum 60% marks in Physics and Mathematics plus the third subject in the last qualifying exam of Class 12th to become eligible for all engineering programs.
- If in the case of Grade Points, Equivalency Marks Card duly attested from the school has to be produced.
- Other Relevant Requirements
- Candidates are also required to produce the proof of Foreign National.
- Candidates also have to produce valid copies of VISA and passport.
Selection Process
The admission is fully based on merit (Marks/ Grades secured in the last qualifying examination of class 12 as per the eligibility requirement) and the seat availability.
Issue of Offer Letter
- If the candidate fulfils all the eligibility requirements, then the branch allotment order will send an e-mail to the candidate. Hence, the desired candidate should have a valid e-mail address.
- If all the eligibility requirements are met by the candidate then the provisional letter of admission will also be issued.
- The application and the documents received by the institution act as a base for further allocation of the branch.
Payment of Fees
Application Fee: The application fee for NRI candidates is 50 USD that can be paid through Demand Draft. Candidates also have to send the hard copy of the application form along with the demand draft.
The fees for the program have to be paid in two instalments: Advance and Balance.
Advance Fees: The selected candidates are required to pay an advance non-refundable amount of US $ 1000 which will further be adjusted with tuition fees on joining.
Balance Fees: As per the provisional admission letter, the candidates are required to send the remaining amount along with Class 12th mark statement or website copy if available and a copy of class 12 Hall Ticket or Admit card.
- The details of the fees format that has been sent with the acknowledgement mail should be accompanied by the payment of balance fee.
- The hostel charges have to be sent separately along with the balance fee via Demand Draft drawn in favour of VIT University.
Kindly Note: Allotment of the room is completely based on first come first serve basis.
Information about other Admission Formalities
- Once the balance fee would be received by the university, further information regarding the commencement of the program, route to VIT, Hotel details, academic calendar, affidavit -pdf format, student profile to be filled online etc., will be communicated through email
- As per the details mentioned in the provisional admission letter, the candidates are required to report to the university with the original documents.
- When all the formalities pertaining to the admission process will get completed, then only the candidates will be allowed to lodge in the hostel.
- All the NRI / Foreign students are required to register themselves in International Relations office -IR office on the day of admission.

Information on Board of examination in general
- GCE Examination, UK: Candidates who have secured higher grades in five subjects at the Ordinary level (O-level) and Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics / Biology at the Advanced level A level are eligible to apply.
- University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate, UK: Candidates who have cleared High School Certificate Examination as the last qualifying exam can also apply.
- Candidates who have cleared the International Baccalaureate Examination of Geneva are also eligible to apply.
- Candidates who have cleared High School Graduation from the pioneer Institutions of USA are eligible to apply.
- Candidates who have cleared 12 years High School from the pioneer Institutions of Canada are eligible to apply.
- National Examination Board/ Council of Ministry: Candidates who have passed 12 years Secondary Stage qualifications from the countries namely Kenya, Nigeria, Sudan, Tanzania Uganda and Rwanda can also apply.
- Candidates who have received High School Certificate HSC and Cambridge School Certificate A level from the pioneer Institutions of Mauritius are eligible to apply.
Kindly Note: Any other examination held overseas and found to be as equal as 10+2 examination of India by Association of Indian Universities AIU will be accepted.
