NALSAR University of Law Hyderabad will be conducting admission in UG courses on the basis of the CLAT 2018 Scores in its UG and PG Law courses.The National Academy of Legal Studies and Research (NALSAR) was established in 1998 by a Statute of the State of Andhra Pradesh Candidates need to know that the admission to NALSAR University of Law is on the basis of their score/rank in Common Law Application Test (CLAT 2018) on it 108 Seats of BA LLB (UG Programme) and 60 Seats for LLM (PG Programme). CLAT entrance examination is conducted for admission to 18 of the coveted National Law Schools, NALSAR is one of them. The courses for which admission is offered by NALSAR University are:

For Foreign Category Candidates
International students who wish to take admission in the NALSAR University do not need to appear for the CLAT exam, they can apply by their merit in the qualifying exam. The eligibility criteria for Foreign category candidates are:
For UG Courses
- For UG Course admissions, international students should have cleared an examination that is recognised by the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi to be equivalent to Higher Secondary Examination (10+2) under Indian System with at least 65% aggregate marks.
- Age- the maximum age should be 25 years as on July 1, 2018.
For PG Courses
- Foreign Nationals applying for PG course admissions at NALSAR should have completed their Bachelor of Law (BL)/LLB/equivalent degree which is recognised by UGC with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade.
- Candidates also need to have good knowledge of written and spoken English.
NALSAR University of Law Application form and Admit Card
The admission to BA/LLB and LLM is offered to the candidates in NALSAR University on the basis of their CLAT score. So, to get the admission in these UG and PG courses first of all the candidates need to register for the CLAT exam. The candidates can apply online by following the link given below.

Steps to apply in NALSAR University of Law
- Step 1 – Registration
- The first step will be registration in which candidates need to provide their valid email id for further communication.
- Step 2 – filling of online application for
- Upon successful registration, candidates will receive CAPS User ID and Password on the E-mail address and Mobile number provided by them.
- By using this login id and password candidates can fill their online application form by uploading some documents like photograph, signature etc.
- Step 3 – Application fee submission
- The candidate will then proceed to the “Payment of the Application Fee” section where the fee can be submitted either online or through Challan. Candidates can submit the application fee of Rs. 4000 (unreserved/ OBC/ SAP category candidates) and Rs. 3500 (SC/ST category candidates) through net banking, debit card/credit card.
NRI/ foreign nationals/ NRI sponsored category candidates can register themselves by downloading the application form and submitting it upon completion, along with the application fee of Rs. 5000 through DD. DD should be drawn in favour of ‘Registrar, Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University’ and payable at Visakhapatnam.
Documents required by Foreign candidates:
- Valid passport
- Copy of statement of marks of all the qualifying exams.
- Demand Draft for Rs 5000 drawn in favour of ‘Registrar, NALSAR’ payable at Hyderabad (name of the candidate should be written at the back of the Demand Draft).
- One passport size photograph must be pasted on the Application Form.
- Birth certificate.
Submission of Application Form
The application form is submitted only in online mode. There is no offline process for submission of Application form.

NALSAR University of Law Result and Counselling
The result will be based on their performance in the CLAT exam. If candidates perform well and qualify this entrance exam, then only they will be and counselling allowed for the further process. After qualifying the exam, candidates will be called for the counselling process. Here they can select NALSAR as their preferred college. After this, the counselling result will be out based on their score.
All the candidates finally allotted to NALSAR and exercised the option to remain with NALSAR are required to send the duly filled-in Information Sheet along with Photostat copies of the following documents along with the payment, either by courier to the address given below or by email (scanned copies) to admissions@nalsar.ac.in for advance verification so as to reach the Registrar.

- SSC or 10th Class Marks Statement
- 12th Class Marks Statement
- 12th Std. study certificate from the educational institution in Telangana as a proof of passing the qualifying examination in the State of Telangana and also four years Residence Certificate (in the previous seven years) in Telangana State issued by the Tahsildar/ MRO, Government of Telangana.
- SC / ST / Disability Certificate, wherever applicable
- Proof of payment made to NALSAR Rs. 2,12,000 or Rs. 2,06,000 as the case may be.
Documents required for LLM Admission
- SSC or 10th Class Marks Statement
- LL.B. / B.L. Marks Statements or consolidated marks statement of all the years
- LL.B. / B.L. Study Certificate from the educational institution in Telangana as proof of passing the qualifying examination in the State of Telangana and also four years Residence Certificate (in the previous seven years) in Telangana State issued by the Tahsildar/ MRO, Government of Telangana.
- SC / ST / Disability Certificate, wherever applicable.
- Proof of payment made to NALSAR (Rs. 1,55,000 or Rs. 1,49,000 as the case may be)
NALSAR University of Law Exam pattern
The exam pattern for the CLAT entrance exam is given below.
- Mode of Exam – Computer-based test
- Total number of questions – 200 for undergraduate exam paper
- Total number of questions – 150 for postgraduate exam paper
- Type of questions – Multiple choice objective type
- Duration of CLAT Exam – 2 hours
- Negative marking – 0.25 marks for each wrong answer
