NSI Admission 2018 process has been started with the availability of online and offline application form for the admission to the job oriented courses of National Sugar Institute located in Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh). National Sugar Institute (NSI), Kanpur is a government-funded institute under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Department of Food & Public Distribution. NSI Admission 2018 will be done through an admission test conducted by NSI Kanpur in the 6 major cities of the country.

NSI Admission Eligibility criteria
The candidates should not be aged more than 35 years old on 1 July 2018 (Candidates born after 1 July 1983) to be eligible for the admission to the NSI Programmes in academic session 2018-19. The Final year candidates can also apply for the admission in the courses at NSI Kanpur.
- PG Diploma in Sugar Technology: The candidates must have BSc degree with subjects Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics. Or the candidates should have a degree in Chemical Engineering.
- PG Diploma in Sugar Engineering: The candidates who have completed bachelor’s degree or AMIE in Mechanical / Production / Electrical/ Electrical & Electronic from The Institution of Engineers, India are eligible to apply for PG Diploma in Sugar Engineering.
- PG Diploma in Industrial Fermentation and Alcohol Technology: To be eligible for applying for admission in PG Diploma in Industrial Fermentation and Alcohol Technology at NSI Kanpur, the candidates must have BSc Degree in Chemistry / Applied Chemistry./ Industrial Chemistry/Biochemistry as one of the subject or B. Tech degree in Bio-Technology./ Chemical Engineering /or Bio-Chemical Engineering.
- PG Diploma in Sugarcane Productivity & Maturity Management: The candidates who have done BSc or BSc in Agriculture are only eligible to apply for admission in PG Diploma in Sugarcane Productivity & Maturity Management program.
- PG Diploma in Industrial Instrumentation & Process Automation: The candidates who have completed bachelor’s degree or AMIE in Electronics & Instrumentation/Electronics/Instrumentation/ Electrical & Electronics/ Applied Electronics & Instrumentation from The Institution of Engineers India are only eligible to apply.
- Certificate Course in Sugar Boiling: The candidates must be passed in Matriculation or High School with Science/ Agriculture as one of the compulsory subjects. The candidates should also have experience of minimum 90 days in PAN operation in a vacuum pan sugar factory. (Final year Candidates cannot apply)
- Certificate Course in Sugar Engineering: The candidates who have Diploma in Engineering Mechanical / Production / Electrical/ Electrical & Electronics are only eligible to apply for admission in Certificate Course program in Sugar Engineering.
- Certificate Course in Quality Control: The candidates must be passed in class 12 in science stream with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.
NSI Admission Application form and Admit Card
The candidates can apply for admission in their desired PG Diploma or Certificate program offered at national sugar institute, Kanpur through both mode online and offline. The candidates who want to fill offline application form can get offline application prospectus and application form from Education section of NSI Kanpur against the payment of it in cash to the cashier NSI or they can also get it by post by paying the application fee through Money order to the Director NSI Kanpur 208017.

Instructions to Fill NSI Application Form 2018
- The candidates must keep ready a Demand Draft of requisite amount depending upon their category ready with themselves before applying online. The applicant also has to keep a ready scanned copy of his/her recent passport size photograph without any background. The photograph must be less than 100 KB in JPEG or JPG format.
- The candidates have to now select the option for an online application form. Before filling the application form, they have to read the general instruction carefully.
- Now the candidates have to fill the application form by providing their personal details, educational details, experience details (if have), address, contact details etc. The candidates have to choose test centre from the option given there and also have to provide demand draft details.
- Now the candidates have to upload the scanned copy of their latest passport size photograph by clicking the option given there.
- Now the candidates have to recheck details provided in the application form and submit it. After successful submission, the candidates will get an online acknowledgement "Application Form is successfully submitted for Student Registration Number……..” The candidates have to now note their application registration number for future use.
Submission of the Application Form
The candidates can apply for admission in their desired program offered at NSI Kanpur through both modes online and offline. After successfully submission of the filled application form, the candidates have to take a printout of computer generated online application form and sign on it. Computer generated online application form, along with original demand draft, attested photocopy of High School Certificate, mark sheet of qualifying examinations have to be sent via speed/ registered post to the address given below:

- Physically Handicapped Candidates must provide self-attested and duly signed by Chief Medical Officer with seal.
NSI Admission Test 2018 Admit Card
The candidates, who have successfully submitted an online or offline application form, will only be able to download NSI Admit Card from 31 May 2018 from 10:30 onwards. To download NSI Admit Card, the candidate has to enter his/ her computer-generated Student Registration Number. NSI Admission Result and Counselling
Admission in each PG diploma and certificate program offered at national Sugar Institute, Kanpur done through admission test which are conducted by NSI Kanpur in 6 cities in the country. The candidates will be offered seat in the program they want to get admission in on the basis of their performance in the admission test.
Selection Process for Foreign Students: Foreign students can get admission in their desired program on the basis of merit in eligibility qualifications only. Foreign category candidates have not to face any entrance test.

Admission of Foreign Students
National Sugar Institute is being popular even in abroad. Last year 6 foreign students have got admission in three courses offered at NSI Kanpur. 3 students from Bhutan joined alcohol technology course, a Bangladeshi student got admission in sugar technology and 2 students from Yemen underwent in a three-month sugar refining course and studied at NSI with the final year students of sugar technology.
There is no admission test for the foreign students who are applying for the admission in National Sugar Institute but the admissions are given to them based on the performance in their academic studies.
