IMU DNS Admission 2018- Diploma in Nautical Science from Indian Maritime University, Chennai. The complete admission schedule has been announced for 2018 session "only for Sponsored Candidates". Indian Maritime University (IMU) offers Diploma in Nautical Science (DNS) equal to BSc - Applied Nautical Science for the candidates interested in pursuing their career in Maritime services. Candidates have to appear in the Common Entrance Test CET (Online computer-based test) for IMU DNS Admission 2018 at IMU and its affiliated colleges. Diploma in Nautical Science Applications must be submitted by candidates “sponsored” by Ship Owning or Managing Companies, RPSL Agencies and those who qualify in IMU’s CET before the last date i.e. 24 November 2017 for which exam is conducted on 16 December 2017.
About Indian Maritime University: The university was established on 14 November 2008 in Chennai. University is affiliated to the Ministry of Shipping, Government of India. Diploma in nautical Science is a 3 year programme where the students are trained to work for marine services and trained in the listed below areas like maritime history, maritime laws, maritime security, search and rescue, oceanography, transportation of dangerous cargo, environmental studies and other related fields.

IMU DNS Admission Eligibility criteria
Sponsorship
- Candidates “sponsored” by Ship Owning or Managing Companies, RPSL Agencies will be eligible to apply for the IMU DNS programme.
Age
- Male candidates from general and OBC-NCL category should have born between 2 February 1992 and 2 February 2000.
- Female candidates belong to general and OBC category should have born between 2 February 1990 and 2 February 2000.
- Both male and female candidates belonging to SC and ST should have born between 2 August 1987 and 2 August 2000.
Educational Qualification
- The candidates seek admission in Diploma in Nautical Science at IMU DNS must have passed in class 12 examination with the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English as separate subjects with a PCM average of minimum 60% marks. Or
- The candidates should have done B.Sc. in Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry or Electronics with Physics as individual subject in one of the year, with an average of minimum 50% of marks in the final year of B.Sc. Or
- B.E/B.Tech. Degree from I.I.T. or from a college recognized by AICTE with an average of not less than 50% of marks in the final year.
- Class 12 and Class 10 Marks : The candidates should have secured minimum 50% marks in the English language in class 10 or 12 or in the Degree course conducted by a recognised Board or any University.
- Note:
- 5% relaxation in marks (except the English language) will be given to the SC/ST candidates only.
- Class 12 or Graduation exam of the candidates must be conducted by recognised Board/University.
Physical Fitness
- The candidates seek admission in Diploma in Nautical Science at IMU DNS will have to produce a certificate for medical fitness authorised by Director General of Shipping and the candidates with Disability are not eligible for admission.
- The candidate's eyeball movement must be full in all directions and the pupils should react normally to light and accommodation.
- Distance vision (unaided 1.0 *(6/6) in better eye and 0.67*(6/9)in other eye.
- Normal colour vision shall be tested by Ishihara test chart.

STEP 1: Registration
First, the candidates have to register themselves using their login id and password to access the application form. To registration, the candidates have to read the instruction carefully and click for registration. Now the candidates have to enter their name, category, gender, date of birth, valid email id, mobile number and thereafter the candidates have to click on submit button. Now the candidates will receive an application number which will also be used for login and communicated to the candidate by email and SMS.
STEP 2: Filling the IMU DNS Application Form
Now the candidates have to log in with the application number & date of birth and have to fill the application form. Now the candidates will have to enter their personal details, Preferred Choice of Exam Cities, educational details, and Address for Correspondence.
STEP 3: Uploading Document
Now the candidates have to upload the scanned copy of the following documents supporting their candidature and authenticity:
- Passport size photograph
- Signature of the candidates
- 10th Standard Certificate or any other equivalent proof of DOB.
- Educational Certificate/Degree/Class 12 whichever is applicable.
- Community Certificate (if available)
STEP 3: Make Payment for IMU DNS Application Form
Now the candidates have to make payment of the application fee which can be paid in online mode via any of the methods given below:
- Debit Card
- Credit Card
- Net Banking
The application fee is non-refundable in all the cases. After successful online payment of Application Fee, a registration slip will be generated and the candidates are required to take a printout of the same.
IMU DNS Admission 2018 Application Submission
Submission of the application form is done through online mode only. The candidates do hot have to send or submit any hard copy of the application form. After the successful payment of the application form applicants have to print the final application confirmation page for their reference and the document will be considered submitted.
IMU DNS Admission 2018 Admit Card
IMU DNS 2018 Admit card for CET online test is available to download now. An automated notification via Email/SMS will be sent to the candidates after which they have to download and take the printout of the same.
The candidates can log in by entering their application number and date of birth. The name and address of the Test Venue will be indicated on the Hall Ticket/Admit Card and candidates are requested to be present at the Test Venue at least 30 minutes before the time of commencement of the Online CET.

IMU DNS Admission 2018 Course Fee
Total course fee for the program at Diploma in Nautical Science at IMU is Rs.2,20,000 per annum which is to be paid by the candidates in instalments semester wise.
IMU DNS Admission Result and Counselling
The candidates are selected for admission to Diploma in Nautical Science program at IMU on the basis of Common Entrance Test (CET) which is conducted by IMU. First, the candidates have to pass the Common Entrance Test. Thereafter the selected candidates will be called for the physical fitness test, Eye test and certificate verification. The candidates will be finally selected on the basis of following:

Common Entrance Test (CET) result will declare on the official website of IMU. The result will also be sent to the email address given by each candidate during filling the application form. IMU DNS Admission Exam pattern
The candidates going to appear in online Common Entrance Test (CET) which is scheduled to be held on 16 December 2017 need to know the exam pattern. Following are the pattern of the online CET. All the questions will be set from the following subject: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English, General Knowledge and Aptitude at Plus 2 level (CBSE, ISE and State Boards).
