About CEED 2019
CEED 2019 is a design entrance exam for admission to Masters of Design (M.Des) & PhD and is accepted by various premier institutes of the country. The objective of the CEED exam is to assess the candidate’s aptitude for design which involves visual perception ability, drawing skills, logical reasoning, creativity, communication and problem-solving skills. The CEED 2019 exam date is 19 January 2019. After qualifying the CEED exam, the candidates have to apply to respective institutes for admission as clearing the exam does not guarantee admission.
CEED Full form
Many students are often unaware of CEED full form. Students are hereby informed that CEED full form is Common Entrance Exam for Design. CEED is a qualifying exam for admission to Master of Design (MDes) programmes at IISc Bangalore, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIITDM Jabalpur, and IIT Kanpur, and to Ph.D programmes in Design at IISc Bangalore, IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, and IIT Kanpur. A student is not guaranteed admission in any of the institutes by only passing the CEED 2019 exam. The students will have to give more tests as per the requirement of the institute.

CEED Participating Institutes and Programs Offered

The CEED exam will be conducted in 19 cities across India. The candidates are suggested to fill the application form online before the due date

CEED 2019 Eligibility criteria
Age: There is no age bar to apply for this program.
Academic Qualification: The candidates must have passed a degree/diploma or postgraduate degree program of 4 or 3+2 years.
- Candidates appearing in final year can also apply for the program.
- Candidates must have passed the GD Arts diploma program (10+5 level) by July 2018.
CEED 2019 Application form and Admit Card
Candidates can visit the official website of CEED to fill the application form. The candidates can submit the application fee through online mode only and there is no provision to submit the application fee via the offline mode. The steps to fill the online application form are given below:

Submission of Application Form
The candidates are suggested to check the details of the duly filled application form and should make sure that all the data entered by them is correct. The candidates need not submit the application form in hard copy but they should keep at least two copy of the application form for future reference.
CEED 2019 Admit Card
Admit card for CEED will be available for download on the official website of CEED from 1 January 2019. The candidates are suggested to take a clear printout (in colour) of the admit card at the exam centre. The admit card is an important document for appearing in the exam and without that they will not be allowed to appear in the exam.
CEED 2019 Fees
The application fee for the CEED for different categories is given below:

The application form with the late fee can be filled from 10 to 16 November 2018 with a late fee of Rs. 500 which will be applicable to all candidates.
CEED 2019 Result and Counselling
The result will be declared on the official website of CEED on 4 March 2019. The candidates can see the result by following the link which will be later on available on this page. Along with the result, the IIT Bombay will release the scorecard too. The candidates can go through the CEED Selection Process given below.
CEED Selection Process
The candidates will be selected for Part B on the basis of Part A Score. The minimum percentage required for each category is given in the table below:

To prepare the merit list of CEED 2019, only Part B scores will be used. Part A scores are only considered as qualifying scores for Part B
CEED 2019 Exam pattern
The Examination will consist of two parts, PART A and PART B. Both the parts will be conducted on the same day.
Part A: Questions in part A will be aptitude type that will be designed to evaluate visual and spatial ability, environmental and social awareness, analytical and logical reasoning, language, observation and design sensitivity of the candidates
- Mode of Exam: It is a computer-based exam
- Type of Questions: Objective type
- Negative Marking: There is no negative or partial marking
- Total Duration: 1 Hour, 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM
- Total Marks - 100
- The Exam will be conducted in the English Language.

Part B - Part B will consist of questions that will test design, drawing and writing skills of the candidate.
- Mode of Exam - Questions will be displayed on the computer screen and the candidates will the answers are to be written in the answer book provided in the examination hall.
- Total Duration - 2 hours, 11:00 AM to 01:00 PM
- Total Question - 8 Questions
- Total Marks - 100
- Marking Scheme- Question no. 1 to 5 will have 50 marks each. (the candidates have a choice to attempt any one of these questions out of these 5).

CEED Syllabus 2019
The CEED Syllabus for 2019 is divided into two parts. Part A and Part B. The syllabus of both the parts in detail is given below
Part A
Visualisation and Spatial ability: Pictorial and Diagrammatic question to test the understanding of manipulation of 2D and 3D Objects and their spatial ability
Environmental and social awareness: General questions about environmental factors such as climate, population, water, vegetation, pollution, weather, natural resources etc. and their suggestion on the design of the products, images, infrastructure, and the environment.
Analytical and Logical Reasoning: Ability to analyses given information logically. Ability to weigh opinions, arguments etc.
Language and creativity: Ability to understand passages in commonly used in the English language. Ability to think creatively, the ability to distinguish innovative options.
Design Thinking and problem-solving: Ability to understand the context, the users and select the most appropriate solution for the given design problem.
Observation and design sensitivity: Ability to detect concealed properties in a day to day life and thinks critically about them.
Part B
Drawing: Ability to draw products, people or scenes in proportion with good line quality.
Creativity: Ability to think out of the box and come up with the unique idea.
Communications Skills: Ability to communicate concepts and ideas clearly with the help of text and visuals.
Analytical and problem-solving skills: Ability to understand the users, and context. Knowledge of properties of material and process.
The list of the exam centres is given below. The CEED Exam will be conducted in 19 cities across India and the candidates have to choose three exam cities in order of their preference while filling up the application form. In case a city does not have sufficient candidates then that city might be dropped and the candidate will be allotted the next preferred city for the exam.
