Army Institute of Management, Kolkata MBA Admission 2018 will be based on CAT scores. CAT, which is conducted by the IIMs is the first step in the process of Army Institute of Management, Kolkata MBA Admission 2018 and then the shortlisted candidates will be called for further selection process conducted which is conducted by Army Institute of Management, Kolkata at AIMK. The candidates seeking to take admission in AIMK needs to fill the AIMK Application form or before 15 January 2018.

The Army Institute of Management, Kolkata was formerly known as National Institute of Management Calcutta was established on 28 July 1997 by the Army Welfare Education Society (AWES), New Delhi.The institute was established with the mission to promote excellence in all dimensions of management and to prepare the students for the global market.

AIMK MBA - Streams Offered

The Army Institute of Management, Kolkata offers four streams under MBA with specialization in each course. The courses offered by AIMK under MBA is given in the table below. The candidates can also find the specializations for each course

AIMK MBA Seats

AIMK offers two-year full-time residential MBA programme. There are a total number of 120 seats per batch out of which 80% that are reserved for Army wards and rest other 20% that is 24 seats are for General Category.

AIMK Eligibility - General Category

Academic Criteria: The candidates must have completed his/her 3 years graduation degree in any discipline from any University recognised by the Association of Indian Universities with at least 50% marks.

• The candidates who will complete all the requirements of Bachelors Degree by 30 June 2018, may also apply. Such candidates will be provisionally admitted and are required to submit their evidence by 31 August 2018.
  
  

AIMK Eligibility - Army Category

The admission to the AWES Professional Colleges is for the children of eligible serving Army personnel, eligible ex-Army personnel and war widows of the Army. The children of following categories of Army personnel are eligible and they are required to submit the relevant certificate as given against the category applicable to them as proof of their eligibility for admission to AWES Professional Colleges along with the Application Form.

The applicants must fall into one of the following categories:

• The children of serving Army personnel with minimum 10 years continuous service in the Army. 
• Children of ex-Army personnel granted/awarded regular pension, liberalised family pension, family pension or disability pension at the time of their superannuation, demise, discharge, release medical board/ invalided medical board. This includes wards of recruits medically boarded out and granted disability pension.
• Children of ex-Army personnel who have taken discharge or released after ten years of service.

Adopted / Step Children and Children of Remarried Widows:

• Adopted Child of Army personnel if adopted at least five years prior to seeking admission.
• Step Children are eligible provided they are born from a wedding where at least one parent belonged to the Arm who is otherwise eligible.

AIMK Eligibility Criteria in Special Cases

• Eligibility Criteria for Children of ex-Army Medical Corps Officers/Army Dental Corps Officers Presently Serving with Indian Navy or Indian Air Force (IN/IAF). Children of only those ex-Army Medical officers/Army Dental Corps officers presently serving with Indian Navy/Indian Air Force who has served with the Army for at least 10 years.
• Eligibility Criteria for Children of APS/MNS/TA Personnel.
  • Children of APS personnel classified as ex-servicemen as per Government of India, Ministry of Defence letter No 9 (52)/88/D(Res) dated 19 Jul 89.
  • Children of APS personnel who are on deputation and who have put in 10 years of service in the Army.
  • Children of APS personnel, who are directly recruited into APS who have completed 10 years of service and of those who as per their terms and conditions of service, retired from APS without reversion to P&T Department after completing their minimum pensionable service of which 10 years was in the Army.
  • Children of only those members of MNS who have 10 years service as regular members of MNS or are in receipt of the pension from the Army.
  • Children of only those TA personnel who have completed 10 years of embodied service.

AIMK MBA application form can be downloaded from the official website and must be submitted before the 15 January 2018. However, the candidates can also submit the AIMK Application Fee with the late fee from 16 January to 31 January 2018. 

The candidates must read the information brochure very carefully before filling the AIMK Application Form.  There are two ways to get the AIMK Application form. The candidates can get the application form from any of the two methods which is mention below.

Requisite the AIMK Application Form

The first way to get the AIMK Application Form is by sending requisite for the prospectus to the Admission Office, AIM along with a Demand Draft with the appropriate fee according to the category in favour of "Director AIM" payable at Kolkata.  The candidates have to pay Rs 50 more if the information brochure is required to send by post.

• The candidates need to download the AIMK Application Form by following the above link.

• The candidates must fill their personal information such as name, email id, correspondence address, DOB, the occupation of father/Mather etc.
• The candidates have to fill about their educational background such as 10+2, graduation information etc.
• The candidates must affix their recent Passport size photograph in the application form.
• The candidates must attach the following enclosures along with the Application Form:
  • Certificate No- 1/2/3 (whichever is applicable)
  • Photocopy of PPO (In case of wards of retired army person)
  • DSC personnel should attach PPO to proof Previous Army Service
  • Photocopy of CAT Admit Card
  • Postage stamp of Rs. 5
• The candidates must sign the application form after filling it completely.

Payment of AIMK MBA Application fees: The AIMK Application fees can only be paid through Demand Draft. There is no other mode of paying the application fee. The candidate can make the payment through Demand Draft in favor of Director of AIM, payable at Kolkata.

The duly filled in AIMK MBA application form must be sent along with a self-addressed envelope duly affixed postal stamp will have to be sent for obtaining ‘Receipt’ and ‘Application Number’ to the following address:

NOTE: The application form will be submitted on or before 15 January 2018. After this date, Rs. 200 will be added as a late fee. The above application fee is Non-Refundable.

AIM Kolkata MBA Fees Structure

All fees will be paid online through SBI-Collect. Detailed method to be followed will be intimated by Joining Instructions.

Army Institute of Management Kolkata MBA 2018 selection and Admission process will be based on the following Criteria:

CAT 2017 scores: The first step of evaluation criteria is through CAT Scores 2017. The candidate needs to appear in CAT 2017 to be held on 26 November 2017. The shortlisted candidates will be selected for the next round.

Group Discussion and Interview: The candidate who qualifies the CAT will be called for GDPI to be conducted at AIMK. The candidates will be called on the basis of their merit in CAT scores. GDPI will be conducted during the first week of March 2018 at Kolkata. All the shortlisted candidates will be communicated through call letters. The candidates will have to produce their CAT 2017 Admit Card for GD/PI.

Final Selection: The shortlisted candidates will be notified on the official website of AIMK along with ‘Joining Instructions’ (JI). ‘JI’ will be issued to the selected and wait-listed candidates who will be required to deposit a sum of Rs 10,000 through Demand Draft which will be drawn in favour of ‘Director AIM’ payable at Kolkata, as acceptance of offer along with the willingness certificate.
