IIM Ahmedabad MBA Admission 2019-20

IIM Ahmedabad MBA Admission is among the top best management institutes among all Indian Institute of Management IIMs and other institutes located in India. • Post Graduate Programme in Food and Agribusiness Management (PGP-FABM): PGP-FBM in IIM Ahmedabad is the two-year post-graduation programme whose objective is to transform young men and women into competent professional managers for the agriculture, food, agri-business, rural and allied sectors.
• Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP): PGP offered by IIM Ahmedabad is a two-year post-graduation programme in management to the graduate candidates. CAT Exam is necessarily required for the admissions to the national candidates, and for the International candidates, GMAT score is required.

CAT 2018 - Common Admission Test

Admissions to the above-listed courses are carried on the basis of the CAT Exam Scores. PGP Admissions have a very tough competition for admissions, the IIM’s selection procedure that allows admissions only to the best candidates.

• Applicants in IIM Ahmedabad will be shortlisted on the basis of their CAT Score only, applicants can not directly apply for the IIM Ahmedabad.
• If applicants are eligible, IIM Ahmedabad will automatically shortlist them an Email regarding the admission procedure will be sent to them.

PGP (Post-Graduate Management programme)

• Educational Qualification:  Applicant must have a minimum of 50% in their 3 years or more years graduation programme, For  SC/ST/PWD it should be 45%
• Institutional Qualification: Institute from where applicants have completed their graduation must be recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.
• Entrance Exam Required: Applicants must have a valid CAT Exam score.
• Applicants who are in their final year of graduation can also apply, they have to submit a certificate signed by their principal or HOD of college stating that the candidate is in the final year of their degree and have secured 50% or more.

Post Graduate Programme in Food and Agribusiness Management (PGP-FABM)

• Educational Qualification: Candidate must have a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in agricultural sciences or agriculture-related disciplines with minimum 50% marks which is 45% for SC/ST/Disabled

OR

• Candidate must have a Bachelor’s/ Master’s Degree in any discipline with the keen interest in agriculture, food, rural and allied sectors. These candidates have to submit a special form without which their candidature will be cancelled.
• Institutional Qualification: Candidate’s University/College from where he/she have acquired the bachelor’s degree should be recognized by Ministry of HRD or equivalent.
• The candidate must have a valid CAT Exam score. The foreign candidates must have a minimum of at least 700 GMAT score.

Applicants seeking admissions in the IIM Ahmedabad for PGP and PGP-FABM Courses need not apply directly to the institution, however, they will be shortlisted on the basis of their CAT Scores. Selected Applicants will receive an Email regarding the shortlisting and further procedures.

IIM Ahmedabad fees for the previous sessions is given below, the mentioned fee is the full course fees which have to be paid semester wise in installments.

• The Fees and other charges payable by the PGP students of the 2017-2019 batch for their first academic year is approximately Rs. 9,39,000.
• The Fees and other charges payable by the PGP-FABM students of the 2015-2017 batch for their first academic year is approximately Rs. 8,38,000.

Note: Laptop computer, personal expenses onboarding, travel, clothes, and laundry are extra.

The CAT 2017 Result will be declared tentatively in the second week of January 2018. The selection process for the admission in IIM Ahmedabad is given below.

IIM Ahmedabad Selection Process

• Selection for PGP:  Shortlisted applicants will be informed individually on their Email IDs or through Registered post by the IIM Ahmedabad. Further steps of shortlisting of the candidates are given below:
• STEP 1: There will be two level screenings for the candidates before the Final selection to the IIM Ahmedabad. Initially, candidates will be shortlisted and informed on the basis of their CAT Exam Score.
• STEP 2: Further screening of the shortlisted candidates will be done followed by the AWT (Academic writing test and PI (Personal Interview) which is to be done for the candidates satisfying the eligibility criteria and have a valid CAT Score.
• STEP 3: On the basis of the performances in Academic writing test and Personal Interview applicants will be finally selected strictly as per the reservations and academic performances which will be evaluated in the above rounds for admissions in IIM.
• PGP-FABM: Applicants will be shortlisted initially following the Group Discussions and Personal Interviews. 70% weightage will be given to the CAT Score of the candidate and 30% weightage will be given to the application rating scores. Applicants for screening will be informed either by their Email IDs or by the registered post in the last week of January 2017.

Group discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) for admission to PGP FABM will be conducted in the month of February 2018. The shortlisted Candidates for GD/PI will be intimated via email.

The placement process for the graduating batch of the Post Graduate Programme (PGP) in management at IIM Ahmedabad is done within three clusters. The placement process with the concept of “Dream Application”, allowed students to choose the sectors and functions of their choice for their final placement. The placement process will be conducted in two stages. The first process will be the lateral process and the second process will be the final placement process. The information about both the process is given below in details. 

• Lateral Placement Process: It is the placement process where the students will be interviewed by the firms with prior work experience and offered them mid-level managerial positions. About 45% of the batch was eligible for the lateral placements, which provides students with an opportunity to optimally leverage their work experience.
• Final Placement Process: It is the process where the firms will be group into cohorts based on the profile offered, and groups of cohorts will be invited to the campus across different clusters. More than 110 firms made offers in the placement process last year. Companies from the multiple sectors across the different geographies hired candidates for a wide range of functions.

IIM Ahmedabad offers scholarships and financial assistance to all eligible applicants on the need basis so that they can pursue their PGP and PGP-FABM Courses at IIM Ahmedabad efficiently.
