General Eligibility

• Tamil Nadu native candidates and the candidate who have done their class 8 to 12 from Tamil Nadu are eligible to apply.
• Children of Central Government Employees (serving in Tamil Nadu continuously for the past Five Years) may also apply for admission, irrespective of their native.
• Sons and daughters of All India service Tamil Nadu cadre officers are eligible to apply.
• Children of employees in Public Sector or Government recognised institutions (employed in Tamil Nadu continuously for the past five years) irrespective of their domicile are eligible to apply. 
• Srilankan Tamil Refugee candidates are also eligible. However, they will have to upload;
  • Identification Certificate from Head Quarters Tahsildar
  • Those who have not registered in the refugee camp should submit a copy of passport, visa and letter registered with Police Station.

Please note that Tamil Nadu native candidates alone will be considered for communal reservation. Others will be considered under “Open Competition”.

Academic Eligibility

• Candidate must have scored 40% marks in NATA Aptitude Test.
• The candidates who have passed 10+2 or its equivalent examination with Mathematics / Business Mathematics as one of the subjects.
•  The candidate who have passed 10+3 years Diploma (any stream)recognised by Central / State Governments.
  • The candidates who have passed International Baccalaureate Diploma after 10 years of schooling, with Mathematics as the compulsory subject.

The admission in the Anna University B.Arch Admission is done on the basis of NATA scores. However, the counselling will be done on the through TNEA for which the candidates need to fill the TNEA application form. To fill the TNEA application form for the counselling, the candidate has to register from the official website by following the link which will be available when the notification and the information brochure of the Anna University B.Arch admission for the year 2018 will be released.

• STEP 1 (Register): Candidates have to register themselves on the official portal by providing their name, contact details, and DoB. Candidates have to log in to the website portal using the ID and Password that has been given by them at the time of registration.
• STEP 2 (Fill application form): Candidates have to fill out the complete application form carefully online only. To fill the application form, the candidate has to give the following details:
  • Personal and Academic details: Candidates have to now fill the second page of the application form which is the academic details that include Marks in Class 8 to 11, Class 12 marks of each subject, NATA Registration Number and Marks obtained. Click Proceed to Next button at the bottom of the page.
  • Other Details: Now the candidate will be on the 3rd part of the application form that is Other details. The candidate has to fill up the details of their family and school in the application form
• STEP 3 (Upload the Photograph): Documents mentioned below must be uploaded by the candidates who are filling the form in PDF Form and should be of size 20-200 KB except for photograph, it should be in JPG form and must be of size 20-50 kb.
• STEP 4 (Payment): Pay the Application Fee: After the uploading of all the relevant documents candidate have to make an “ONLINE” payment only of Rs 500 for General and Rs 250 for SC/ST and Rs 100 for every special registration in addition to the application fees. No other mode of payment will be entertained.

Documents to be Uploaded along with TNEA Application Form

The candidate has to upload photograph (jpg format) and the following documents in PDF format:

• Recent Passport Size Photographs
• Class 10 Mark sheet
• Class 12 mark sheet or Marksheet of Diploma
• NATA Test Scorecard
• Community certificate
• Upload Nativity/Ex-Serviceman/Different Abled Person or Any other relevant Certificate
• Transfer Certificate
• The candidates registered for B.Arch. and who desires to apply for Special reservation category Eminent Sports Persons shall submit copies(in person) of the sports certificates and relevant forms duly mentioning the TNEA application number, in Person at the office of the "Secretary, TNEA, Anna University, Chennai 25" on or before the last date for registration of application prescribed.

Submission of Application form

 Candidates are advised to fill the application in a proper format because once the application gets submitted then the candidates will not be able to do any changes. The candidates are also advised to check the details of the filled in the application form before submitting it.

The application form is to be submitted online only there is no other mode for submission of the application. The candidates need not send the printout of the application form or any other document to the University.

Anna University B.Arch Rank List for the year 2018 will be declared shortly after the examination. The window to check the rank list will be available on this page once it is out. Anna University B.Arch Mode of selection

TNEA Barch Admissions 2018 Merit list will be prepared by the board on the basis the maximum marks obtained by the candidate in academics and NATA 2017/ 2018. A merit list will be prepared based on the total marks of 400 marks. Ranking of the candidates will be based on the total marks of 400 (NATA 200 and Academic mark 200).

In case of a tie: In cases where more than one candidate has got the same marks in the common merit list, the inter-se-merit among such candidates shall be determined in the order of priority as specified below:-

• Academic Aggregate for 200.
• Date of Birth (elder will be given preference).
• The random number assigned (higher value will be given preference).

Anna University B.Arch Counselling 2018

Candidates will be called for counselling in the order of their merit. Based on the merit and communal reservation, allotment of college chosen by the candidate will be done and candidates have to opt for colleges that are available for them at the time of counselling. The important points related to the counselling is given below:

• Candidates have to appear in the counselling two hours before the counselling process with all their documents for verification.
• If the candidate cannot attend the counselling or any reason he/she can authorise his/her parents on behalf to attend the counselling session.
• If a candidate has already deposited all the certificates in an institution where he/she has already been admitted, a letter from the Head of the institution should be produced in that situation. Attested photocopies of certificates from the Head of the institution will be accepted for verification only in such cases but final admission will be done only after the candidate produces the original documents.
• Once allotted a seat the counselling fee will be adjusted towards the tuition fees.

• Demand Draft in case no cash payment is to be made.

Anna University B.Arch Counselling Fee

Payment of counselling fee: The candidates have to pay an initial deposit by Cash or DD and produce all their original certificates when they attend counselling. The Demand draft should be drawn in favour of,

• Candidates who have not uploaded the certificates at the time of application process of permanent community or reservations will be considered as an open category.
• Other than these categories there are other two categories that are mentioned below with their item number that will be used everywhere in the admission process and application process.
• Candidate falling under the categories have to fill and submit the required form along with the registration form from the official website

• Selection of item 20 will be based on their ranking on the total marks (out of 400) obtained in the qualifying Examination.
• Selection of item 21 will be based on the total marks obtained for Achievements in sports
