About NIMHANS UG Admission 2018
NIMHANS BSc Entrance Exam 2018 for the UG course will start soon and the candidates willing to seek admission to the NIMHANS can fill the online application form. National Institute of Mental Health & Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS) is an autonomous Institute of National Importance. The institute offers various UG, PG and Post-Doctoral courses. NIMHANS will conduct Online entrance exam in various test centres located in Bengaluru, Chennai, Cochin, and Hyderabad. An online computer based entrance exam will be conducted for NIMHANS UG Admission to the following courses:
- B.Sc. in Nursing - 4 years duration
- B.Sc. in Radiography - 3 years duration
- B.Sc. in Anaesthesia Technology - 3 years duration
NIMHANS Mock Test: Candidates can take the mock test to get familiar with the entrance exam pattern. The test will be available on NIMHANS website 15 days prior to the Online Entrance Test.

Compulsory Internship: Students who get admission in B.Sc in Nursing, B.Sc in Radiography and B.Sc in Anaesthesia Technology courses have to undergo compulsory Internship of one year duration immediately on successful completion of the course failing which Rs. 5,00,000 has to be paid as penalty (An agreement has to be furnished at the time of joining the course). A stipend of Rs.12,000 per month will be paid during the internship.
NIMHANS UG Admission 2018 Eligibility criteria
Age: B.Sc courses should be between a minimum of 17 years and a maximum of 25 years as on 1 August 2018.
Academic Qualification
The academic qualification for the B.Sc Nursing, B.Sc in Radiology and for the B.Sc in Anaesthesia Technology courses are different. The qualification details for each course is separately given below.
BSc Nursing Eligibility
- The candidate must have passed the Pre-University examination conducted by the Department of Pre-University OR Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination (12 years course) OR An Equivalent with 12 years of Schooling from a recognised Board or University.
- The candidate must have passed the qualifying exam with 45% (40% in case of SC/ST Candidates) in aggregate. Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English.
BSc in Radiography Eligibility
- The candidate must have passed a pre-University examination conducted by the Department of Pre-University or any Equivalent examination recognised by the NIMHANS, Bangalore OR,
- Job Oriented Diploma course from a recognised Board with Diagnostic Radiography as vocational subject or Equivalent
- Candidate must have passed the qualifying exam with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, and English. The candidate must have secured a minimum of 45% (40% in case of SC/ST Candidates) aggregate marks.
BSc in Anaesthesia Technology Eligibility
- The candidate must have passed a two-year Pre-University Examination or equivalent with a Science group has secured an aggregate of 45% (40% in case of SC/ST Candidates) in Science subjects.
- The candidates who have appeared for the qualifying examinations and are waiting for results are also eligible to apply to all the BSc Courses.
NIMHANS UG Admission 2018 Application form and Admit Card
NIMHANS Application forms will be available on the official website of NIMHANS from the first week of May 2018. The application forms are to be filled and submitted online only. Steps to fill the NIMHANS UG Application Form
The instructions to fill NIMHANS application form is given below to guide the candidates while filling the application form. The candidates are, therefore, suggested to follow the given instructions and fill the application form correctly.
- Fill the Application form: The candidate has to give his/ her Basic and Eligibility Details such as name, address and details of the qualifying exam. The candidates have to fill each and every section of the form carefully. The candidates after filling the application form have to download the declaration form.
- Registration: The candidate has to first register on NIMHANS Website to get a Provisional Registration ID and password. Use this ID and Password to Login and fill the application form.
- Declaration Form: Declaration form should be downloaded, filled, signed, scanned and uploaded. This Declaration Form is mandatory. All the Candidates applying for admission to NIMHANS have to submit the declaration form along with the application form.
- Upload photograph, signature, and document: The candidates have to upload photograph, signature and copies of all certificates in support of claims made. The candidates have to upload the photograph, signature and document in the required format and size.
- Payment of the Application Fee: Application fee has to be paid online only with Debit/ Credit Card or through online transfer. The candidates are suggested to make the payment only once. After paying the application fee, the candidates are required to submit the application form.
Submission of NIMHANS UG Application Form
Application form along with the enclosures has to be submitted ONLINE only. Candidate must not send the printout of the application form or any certificate to NIMHANS. However, candidates can take a printout of the application form for future reference. Foreign Nationals are required to submit their hard copy of their applications through the Diplomatic Channel (through the Ministry of External Affairs).
The candidates who have submitted the filled in application form are suggested to keep at least two printouts of the application form with them for future reference.
NIMHANS Entrance Exam Admit Card 2018
NIMHANS Admit card will be available on the official website. The candidates should note that NIMHANS Admit card will not be sent by post to any candidate. The candidates who will successfully submit NIMHANS application form 2018 will be able to download their admit card from the official website. NIMHANS Admit card is a very important document and the candidates are required to carry it to the examination hall.
NIMHANS UG Admission 2018 Fees
The application fees for the NIMHANS are different for all the categories. The candidates belonging to the respective categories must pay their application fee accordingly.The fee has to be paid through online mode only that is Credit Card/ Debit Card/ Online Transfer only once. NIMHANS UG Admission 2018 Result and Counselling
The result or the merit list for the NIMHANS UG online entrance test will be announced on last week of June 2018. The candidates who will appear in the test will be able to check their result from the official website. List of qualified candidates for interview/ counselling will be notified on the Institute’s Notice Board and Website. Candidates called for counselling will have to carry a hard copy of the application abstract along with copies of the certificates in addition to the Originals.
Selection Process for NIMHANS BSc Admission
- The candidates will be selected on the basis of the marks obtained by them in the Online Entrance examination conducted by NIMHANS.
- The candidates who qualify in entrance exam will be called for counselling for verification of documents.
- Admission will be given to only those candidates who will qualify the entrance exam and produce original eligibility certificates at the time of counselling.
NIMHANS UG Admission 2018 Exam pattern
Entrance exam for NIMHANS UG Admission will be a computer based test.
- Duration of Exam: 90 minutes
- No. of Questions: 100 multiple choice questions.
- Negative marking: 0.25 marks will be deducted for all wrong answers.
The candidates can take the mock test to get familiar with the entrance exam pattern. The test will be available on NIMHANS website 15 days prior to the Online Entrance Test.
