TNAU B.Sc and B.Tech Admission 2018 - Counselling started

TNAU 2018 First phase Counselling has started online from 9 July 2018. Rank List of  TNAU was released on 22 June 2018. The application process for the same started from 18 May 2018. Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) is rated as the best Agricultural University in India by Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi. TNAU BSc and BTech Admission 2018 is done on the basis of Class 12 marks. All the candidates applying for TNAU Counselling and Management quota have to fill the TNAU online application form. TNAU offers various specialisations in Agricultural Science and Agricultural Technology Programs viz are:

• B.Sc in Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Sericulture, Agri-Business Management, Food Science and Nutrition,
• B.Tech in Agricultural Engineering, Food Process Engineering, Biotechnology, Horticulture, Energy and Environmental Engineering, Bioinformatics and Agricultural Information Technology. 

Tamil Nadu Domicile: The candidates who are Tamil Nadu Native or have passed class 10, 11 and 12 from Tamil Nadu can apply.

TNAU BSc, B.Tech Admission 2018 Dates

 Following are the important dates related to TNAU 2018 to keep in mind

Age Limit: The candidates should not be more than 21 years as on the day of admission that is 1 July 2018.

• There is no age limit for SC, ST, and Scheduled Caste Arunthathiars (SCA) candidates.

Domicile of Tamil Nadu: Candidates of Tamil Nadu Nativity only are considered for admission.

• If the candidates have studied Class 10, 11 and 12 in Tamil Nadu will be considered for admission on proof of having studied in the above-mentioned classes located in Tamil Nadu.
• The candidates who have not studied Class 10, 11 and 12 in Tamil Nadu should produce the certificate of Permanent Residence in Tamil Nadu in the prescribed proforma issued by competent authority.

Academic Qualification: The candidates should have passed all the subjects in Academic stream of the qualifying examination with 10+2 years of the schooling from a recognised board such as Board of Higher Secondary Education of Government of Tamil Nadu, Central Board of Secondary Education, Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations and Other State Government and International Boards. 

Eligible Minimum Qualifying Marks (Academic Stream/Vocational Stream)

Number of Attempts: The maximum number of attempts to pass the qualifying examination are as follows:

• SC/ST: 3
• All other communities: 2

International Students: The international students should have passed the academic stream with an aggregate of 55% in all the four subjects and should not be more than 21 years of age as on 1 July 2018.

The various steps of TNAU Application are as follows:

STEP 1: The candidate has to first Register on TNAU website by giving his/her Personal and verification Information. Here the candidates must enter their name, father’s name, mother’s name, gender, date of birth, category, place of birth, citizenship, valid mobile number and email id for further communication.

• Verification of Identification: Candidates must enter their class 10 and 12 marks sheet serial number, registration number, year of passing of class 12, the number of attempts.

STEP 2: Address and Photograph: Candidates must enter their correspondence address and permanent address as well. Candidates must also upload their passport size photograph which should be between 15 kb to 50 kb and in .jpg, .jpeg,.pjpeg,.bmp,.gif and .png format.

STEP 3: Education details: Candidates must enter their education details correctly as mentioned in their class 10 and 12 mark sheet.

STEP 4: Payment of application fee: Candidates must use e-payment link to complete the online payment of Rs 600 and Rs 300 for SC/ST candidates. Candidates will receive a payment reference number and in case they have not received the payment reference number from TNAU, wait for 24 hours. The reference number will be sent to your registered Mobile number and e-mail inbox. If the attempt of payment is a failure, candidates need to follow the payment procedure again.

Submission of Application Form

The candidates need not send the printout of the TNAU Application form to the University. It has to be submitted along with the Payment reference number online only. However, the candidate can take a printout of the application form for future reference.

The candidates selected for admission to the program they have applied have to make payment of the course fee as per the details are given below:

TNAU admissions are done through single window counselling and application process is common for all the undergraduate programs, the candidates can choose any eligible program against vacancy during counselling.

Candidates will be selected on the basis of their merit in their qualifying examination. If the marks are to be updated or corrected the candidates must report to TNAU Admission cell in person before the counselling process starts. Because there will be no updating of marks at the time of the counselling.

• Based on the merit and communal reservation, allotment of the degree and college chosen by the candidate will be made. Candidates have to opt for a degree and college available at the time of counselling.

The date, time, and venue for counselling will be intimated through registered e-mail ID and mobile number. The information will be made available on the official website. All candidates called for counselling must pay a non-refundable counselling fee online to generate and download Counseling Letter.

Counselling Letter: Counselling letter should be signed by the candidate and produced for entering counselling hall. Without the counselling letter, the candidate will not be entertained for counselling. Candidates who fail to attend the counselling at the specified date and time will forfeit their right to admission.

• If a candidate is unable to attend the counselling on the specified date and time, due to some unavoidable reasons, the candidate can authorise their parent/guardian on their behalf and the parent’s / guardian’s decision will be binding and final. Such authorization letter should bear the photo of the person (candidate’s parent/guardian) and signed by both the candidate and parent/guardian.
  • The authorised person attending the counselling on behalf of the candidate should carry the counselling letter and photo ID proof.
• The required fee should be paid before registration. Any delay in submission of certificates/documents and payment of fees will result in cancellation of seat. The Admit Card has to be produced at the time of joining in the respective colleges.

TNAU Counselling Schedule

The candidates who have joined in other institutions and unable to bring the originals at the time of counselling should produce a bonafide certificate from the institution where they have joined already and attested photocopies of the original certificates. Candidates those who carry downloaded 12th mark sheet should get it attested by the Head Master of the School studied.

• An Admit Card will be issued to the candidates duly mentioning the degree and campus selected by the candidates. All original certificates and documents as mentioned in the Admit Card should be submitted to TNAU Admission Cell, Coimbatore within the stipulated date.

Candidates must note that:

• Degree and college choice once made is final and cannot be changed.
• Request for change in date/time of attending counselling is not permitted.
