About NEET 2021

National Eligibility cum Entrance Test or NEET 2021 will be conducted on 12 September 2021. National Testing Agency (NTA) will be conducting the NEET exam 2021. 

The registration for NTA NEET 2021 started on 13 July 2021. The last date to submit NEET 2021 form was 10 August 2021. Unlike the other exams under NTA, NEET 2021 will be held in pen and paper-based mode. In NEET exam 2021, there will be 180 Multiple Choice Questions, and candidates will be allotted 3 hours to complete the same. The questions will be divided among topics like Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

It is expected that more than 13 lakh candidates will be applying for NEET 2021. NEET UG is the basis for admission of around 90,000 seats offered by medical as well as dental, government and private colleges in India. From all the government medical colleges, 15% seats will be reserved for All India Quota seats, which will be allotted by Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), While the remaining 85% state quota seats will be allotted by respective states counselling authorities. NEET Application Form 2021

The registration process of NEET 2021 will be completely online. It is important for candidates to fill and submit the NEET 2021 application form before the due date. NEET 2021 Eligibility criteria

The medical aspirants who wish to appear for NEET 2020 entrance examination must go through NEET eligibility criteria 2020. The NEET eligibility norms will vary with the category of candidates. Candidates must note that if any of them fail to meet any of the eligibility norms of NEET 2020 and have applied for the test, then their candidature will be cancelled on or before the entrance test.

  • Candidates should be of at least 17 years at the time of admission or will complete that age on or before 31 December of the year of his/her admission to the first year Undergraduate Medical Course
  • The age of aspirants should not exceed 25 years (30 years for SC/ST/OBC-NCL) 
  • Students from Jammu and Kashmir UT will not be eligible for 15% of All India Quota seats as the matter is still under discussion and the final decision would be put on the NTA website. From the academic year 2021-22, the students of UT of Ladakh shall be eligible for admission to 15% of All India Quota seats. 
  • Candidates should have appeared class 12/qualifying examination or are appearing for 10+2 in 2020
  • In the qualifying examination, general category candidates must have secured 50% in aggregate with Physics, Chemistry and Biology. While the SC/ST/OBC category must secure at least 40% and 45% for PH category
  • Candidates should have studied Biology/Biotechnology with practical in class 12. Students studied/studying Biology as an additional subject can also apply for the NEET UG 2021

NEET Aadhaar Card mandate

  • Aadhaar card is not mandatory to apply for NEET exam
  • Candidates from Meghalaya, Jammu and Kashmir and Assam can apply using the Passport number, ration card number, bank account number or any other valid Government ID number
  • NRI candidates can apply through Aadhaar card number or passport number
  • PIO, OCI and foreign nationals candidates can apply by passport number

NEET 2021 Exam pattern

NEET 2021 entrance examination will be conducted in pen-and-paper based mode. There will be a total of 180 questions in NEET-UG 2021. As per the press release by NTA, there will be no change in NEET MBBS paper pattern. NEET Syllabus 2021

The syllabus of NEET 2021 will be released by NTA soon. According to the National Testing Agency (NTA), there will be no change in the NEET 2021 syllabus. The syllabus is implemented by the Medical Council of India (MCI) in the year 2013. As per the MCI, NEET UG syllabus is prepared after the review of CBSE syllabi, State Boards, Council of Board Education (COBSE) and National Council of Education Training and Research (NCERT). NEET syllabus contains topics from Physics, Chemistry and Biology topics. It is mandatory for aspirants to carry NEET hall ticket along with them to the reporting exam centre.

NEET Answer Key 2021

The answer key of NEET 2021 will be released for all sets. In other words, NEET answer key 2021 will contain the answers to the questions asked in the entrance examination. NEET Result 2021

NTA will release the NEET result in October for the exam conducted on 12 September. NEET result 2021 will be released in the form of a scorecard. NEET scorecard includes subject-wise and overall marks, All Indi Rank (AIR), All India Quota (AIQ) Rank, category rank and percentile score. NEET cut off scores will also be released along with the NEET Result. NEET UG scorecard will be available on this page by entering login ID/application number and password.

NEET Rank Letter 2021

The NEET 2021 rank letter will be available online only to those candidates who are included in the All India 15% quota merit list. The NEET rank letter will contain the student's name, All India Rank (15% quota and category), Aadhaar number, registration number, roll number and category. To download NEET online rank letter, candidates are required to follow the steps given below -

  • Provide roll number
  • Select date of birth
  • Click on the submit button

Note: Candidates are advised to download and take a printout of the NEET rank letter 2021. Also, they must keep the rank letter of NEET 2021 safe until the conclusion of the admission rounds.

NEET 2021 Marks Vs Rank

After the conduct of NEET 2021, the exam officials will be releasing the official NEET Answer Key. Through the provided answers, test takers will be able to calculate their estimated marks. However, the calculation of rank won't be that easy as compared to the estimation of NEET scores. To get a fair idea of the ranks, candidates can check the previous years' result. The relation between NEET rank vs marks will depend upon factors like the difficulty level of the test and the total number of candidates who have appeared for the test. NEET Cut off 2021

The cut off of NEET 2021 is the minimum qualifying marks to be secured for admission to MBBS and BDS courses. Only candidates who will secure the minimum qualifying NEET-UG cut off will be considered qualified. Based on the NEET-UG cut-off, candidates will be included in the merit list prepared for individual counselling. The last merit rank to be considered for counselling of NEET 2021 will vary in each state depending upon the number of seats available, reservation criteria etc.

NEET Merit List 2021

The merit list of NEET 2021 will be released along with the result. NEET merit list 2021 will be prepared on the basis of scores obtained in the medical entrance examination. Only aspirants who will secure the minimum qualifying percentile will be included in the NEET-UG merit list 2021. NTA will release two separate merit list - one for 15% All India Quota seats, while the second one for 85% state quota seats. In case the rank of two or more candidates will be equal, then the authority will follow the tie-breaking method.

NEET Counselling 2021

NTA has not released the counselling dates of NEET 2021.  NEET 2021 counselling for 15% All India Quota, ESIC seats and Central and Deemed Universities will be conducted by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on the behalf of Medical Counselling Committee while the NEET counselling for the remaining 85% state quota seats will be allotted by the respective state counselling authorities. The seat allotment process will be done on the basis of NEET rank, preferences of colleges as well as courses and availability of seats.

After NEET counselling 2021, candidates must report to their allotted colleges within the specified time period. For the admission process, candidates must take original documents for verification along with self-attested photocopies.

NEET Colleges 2021

All the medical colleges of India, except for AIIMS and JIPMER, will be accepting NEET scores only. After the announcement of the result, these NEET colleges will commence their counselling rounds. These NEET participating colleges will give admission to more than 90,000 MBBS and BDS seats. However, candidates must note that the counselling rounds for the All India 15% quota will vary from the remaining 85% quota seats.

The candidates who have qualified for the pre-admission rounds or the counselling rounds of these NEET colleges must make sure that visit the college and complete the counselling rounds. Aspirants must note that the counselling rounds of NEET colleges may vary from each other. Only after completing the counselling rounds of these NEET participating institutes, candidates will be granted admission.
