Indian Army BSc Nursing 2018 - Complete Details

Indian Army BSc Nursing 2018 is for admission into BSc Nursing course at College of Nursing of Armed Forces Medical Sciences. Indian Army BSc Nursing course is only for the Female candidates for admission to 4 years course, and the admission will be based on Merit cum choice (subject to a vacancy in each college). Indian Army BSc Nursing course will commence in July / Oct 2018 at Colleges of Nursing. 

On successful completion of Nursing Training which is of 4 years, the candidates will be granted permanent/short service commission in the Military Nursing Service, under the terms and conditions laid down for grant of such commission. It is compulsory for students to serve Indian Army for five years after completion of their course. 

Indian Army will release Indian Army BSc Nursing 2018 Admission application form from 11 December 2017 and the last date to apply is 30 December 2017.

Military Nursing Colleges

The 6 Colleges that would be accepting BSc Nursing Exam Score is given in the table below:

Only Female candidates who are unmarried/divorcee/legally separated or widow without encumbrances are eligible.

Eligibility of the candidate will be known while submitting the online application.

• Nationality - Indian
• Age Limit – The candidate should have born between 1 October 1992, and 30 September 2000. Both days inclusive.
• Educational Qualification – Candidate should have passed Class 12 or equivalent examination, as a regular student in all the subjects ie PCB as elective subjects and not optional and vocational (in both theory and practical)
  • Candidate should have passed in English, in their FIRST ATTEMPT from a recognized Board/University.
  • Candidate should have scored a minimum of 50% aggregate marks (PCBE).
• Final Year Appearing candidates are eligible: Candidates who will be appearing for final year of qualifying examination during the current academic session may also apply provisionally.
• NIOS Students are not eligible: Those who have passed such examinations as private students or with the compartment in any subject or candidates from open schools are NOT ELIGIBLE 
• Physical standards - Medical fitness will be determined as per standards applicable to a commission in the Armed Forces.
  • X-Ray examination of Chest and USG (of abdomen & pelvis) will be done.
  • Minimum height should not be less than 148 cm (relaxed by 5cm in the case of North East candidates).
• Visual Standard: The minimum acceptable standards of visual acuity are given below:

• Myopia of not more than minus – 5.5 D including astigmatism
• Manifest hypermetropia of not more than plus 3.5 D including Astigmatism.

Application Fee: Indian Army BSc Nursing Application Fee is Rs 150 and the candidates are required to pay online only.

Steps involved in the Application Process

• Step 1: Registration: The candidates need to register themselves and using their Email ID and the candidate need to select their own password.
• Step 2: Fill up the Application Form: The candidates must fill all the details given in the Application Form along with their valid mobile number which is very mandatory.
• Step 3: Payment of Application Fee: The candidates need to pay the application fee of Rs 150 through Online mode only.

Application Submission

The duly filled in Indian Army BSc Nursing Application Form must be submitted online by the candidates. The candidate need not send any hard copy of the application form to the concerned authorities. 

However, the candidates are advised to take a printout of the Application form for future use.

Indian Army BSc Nursing Admit Card 2018

The Indian Army, Government of India has released the admit card for the candidates to appear in the exam scheduled to be conducted in the month of February 2018. The candidates who have successfully filled and submitted their application form can download the admit card. However, the admit card will also be sent to the registered email id of the candidates. To download the admit card, candidate will have to;

Eligible applicants will be called for an objective type written test likely to be held in March or April 2018. A merit list will be made on the basis of the written test and candidates will be called for the interview. Final selection will be based on the combined merit of written test & interview, subject to medical fitness.Admissions to Colleges of Nursing/Schools of Nursing will be offered by the merit cum choice subject to a vacancy in each College/School of Nursing.

Selected candidates shall execute an agreement/Bond to serve in the Military Nursing Service (MNS) for 5 years after the completion of the course.

• Duration of the written test: 90 minutes  
• Subjects covered: General English, Biology, Physics, Chemistry and General Intelligence

Medical Examination

• After the interview, the recommended candidates will appear for medical examination before a Special Medical Board (SMB).
• Candidates declared Fit/Unfit will be informed by the President of the Medical board including the procedure of requesting for Appeal/Review Medical Board.
