Indian Navy SSC Recruitment 2018-19 application process is scheduled to start on 4 August 2018 for Officers in Executive & Technical Branch. The application process is open only for unmarried eligible male candidates for grant of Short Service Commission (SSC) in Executive Branch viz. General Service/Hydro, Naval Armament Inspectorate Cadre (NAIC), Technical Branch viz. General Service and Naval Architecture in the Indian Navy course conducted at Indian Naval Academy (INA) Ezhimala, Kerala. Candidates must fulfil conditions of nationality as laid down by the Government of India. Interested candidates have to fill the Indian Navy SSC Recruitment 2018-19 application form by 24 August 2018.

Indian Navy SSC Recruitment 2018-19 Eligibility criteria
Nationality: Only male citizens are eligible for application.
Age: Born between 2 January 1994 & 1 July 1999 (both dates inclusive)
Educational Qualifications
Candidates who have an engineering degree or appearing in the final of engineering course in any of the disciplines i.e. mentioned below from an AICTE recognized institute with minimum 60% marks till 5th/7th semester in regular/integrated course respectively. The candidates failing to meet the minimum cut off percentage will not be permitted to join INA.

- A candidate can fill only one application
- Candidates who are eligible for more than one Branch/Cadre should mention their preference in the application form
- Candidates will be shortlisted for SSB based on their first preference
- If candidate shortlisted for a Branch/Cadre subsequent stages of the selection process (SSB, medicals & meriting) will be exclusively for the branch/cadre only.
- Technical Branch candidates as mentioned above at Ser. No. (c) & (d) can also be allotted Air Technical Specialization/appointed as Air Technical Officer(s) by IHQ MoD (Navy) and on commissioning, they can also volunteer for Submarine Specialization.
- No equivalent stream of BE/B. Tech other than mentioned in para 3 above will be considered valid for the selection process at any stage.

All candidates recommended by SSB will have to undergo Medical tests as per exact terms and conditions
Tatoo: Permanent tattoos on the body are not permitted, however, certain concessions are permitted to candidates belonging to tribal areas communities as declared by the Government of India. For other candidates, permanent body tattoos are only permitted on inner face of forearms i.e from inside of elbow to wrist and on the reverse side of Plam/back (dorsal) side of the hand.
Indian Navy SSC Recruitment 2018-19 Application form and Admit Card
Candidates need to fill the online application form and send a printed copy of the form to the address given below to complete the application process. Candidates can make the online e-application till 25 January 2018 using India Navy’s Website.
Guidelines for Filling the Indian Navy Online Application Form
- Fill the online registration form and the details must be filled as per Matriculation Certificate.
- E-mail address and Mobile number must be filled in order to complete the application process.
- Only one application form has to be filled up.
- Candidates who are eligible for more than one branch/cadre should mention the priority in the form
Documents to be pasted: All relevant documents (preferably in original) (Marks sheets up to 5th & 7th semester for regular and integrated courses respectively, date of birth proof (as per 10th & 12th certificate), CGPA conversion formula for BE/B.Tech) and a recent passport size color photograph should be scanned in original JPG/FITT format, respectively for attaching the same while filling up the application.

Submission of the Application Form
Candidates have to submit the Indian Navy SSC Recruitment 2018-19 application form along with the required documents through the online mode. If any scanned document is not legible/readable for any reason the application will be rejected. Candidates should take the printout of filled application for future reference. Candidates are not required to send the printout of application form through the offline mode.
Indian Navy SSC Recruitment 2018-19 Result and Counselling
IHQ of MoD reserves the right to shortlist candidates and to fix cut off based on the percentage of marks obtained in BE/ B.Tech without assigning any reason. There will be no exam for the recruitment process and the selection process will consist of two stages. The Candidates will be informed about their performance at the end of each round of SSB Interview and Medical Examination. Candidates are to take the printout of application and carry it while appearing for SSB interview.
Stage 1: SSB Interview of the Shortlisted Candidates
- Shortlisted candidates will be informed via email or SMS regarding their selection for the Interview.
- The Candidates will be issued call letters for Service Selection Board interviews based on their performance in educational qualification as per the cut off percentage fixed by Ministry of Defence.
- Venue of the Interview: SSB interviews of the shortlisted candidates will be scheduled from May to July 2018 at Bangalore/Bhopal/Coimbatore/Visakhapatnam.
- The SSB interview will be of 4 days and will consist of two Rounds.
- Round 1: It will consist Intelligence Test, Picture Perception Test, and Group Discussion Task. It will be an elimination round and only the candidate selected in Round 1 will move to round 2.
- Round 2: It consists Psychological Tests, Group Tasks, and Interview.
- Stage 2: Medical Examination: Candidates who fail in round 1 of the interview will be sent back on the same day, while candidates who will clear the Round 2willbe undergo Pilot Aptitude Battery Medical Examination depending upon their preference of Post. Approx Duration 3-5 days
- Candidates recommended by the SSB and declared medically Fit will be appointed for Training depending upon the number of vacancies.
Important Points
- No request for change of SSB Interview Centre will be entertained
- No compensation will be paid in respect of any injury
- AC 3tier rail fare is admissible for the SSB Interview only if you are appearing for the First Time.
Training
- Candidates who have cleared all the stages of Indian navy recruitment process will undergo training from Jan 2019 at Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala and will be on probation of two years subject to.
- For candidates selected for Tech (GS) Branch, Technical (NA) and Executive (IT) will undergo weeks NAVAL ORIENTATION COURSE of 22 weeks at Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala
- For candidates selected for executive GS (X)/Hydro will undergo training of 44 weeks will undergo NAVAL ORIENTATION COURSE of 22 weeks at Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala
- This will be followed by Professional training in Naval Ships and Training Establishments.
- Candidates will be paid full pay and allowance of at the time Training
Cost to Company: The promotion from Sub Lieutenant to Commander is on time scale basis subject to completion of mandatory courses, sea time and medical standards. The PayScale as per 7th CPC and promotion criteria are as follows:

- Privileges: Free Medical facilities for self and dependents, LTC, entitled ration, Canteen Facility, Mess/Club/Sports Facilities, Furnished Govt. Accommodation, Car/Housing Loan at subsidized rates as per extant rules
- Group Insurance: Insurance Cover worth Rs.57 Lakhs and gratuity as per rules in force.
- Leaves: 60 days annual leaves and 20 days casual leaves. Encashment of leaves up to 300 days. Rail concession for self and dependents as applicable.
- Sports and Adventures: One can get involved in any sports of their liking along with adventure sports such as river rafting, wind Surfing, Mountaineering, hot air ballooning, hand gliding, etc.
- Executive Branch (General Service/Hydro): Short Service Commission in Executive (General Service/Hydro) will be granted for the initial period of 10 years, extendable to 14 years, subject to the service requirement, performance and willingness of the candidate. Officers joining under these schemes would not be eligible for grant of permanent commission subsequently.
- Technical Branch (General Service): Short Service Commission in these branches will be granted initially for a term of 10 years, extendable to 14 years, subject to the service requirement, performance, and willingness of the candidate.

Post Training
- Candidate finally selected for Submarine Specialisation, will be inducted as officers in the Rank of Sub Lieutenant and will undergo NAVAL ORIENTATION COURSE of 22 weeks at Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala NAVAL ORIENTATION COURSE of 22 weeks at Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala.
- On successful completion of the Training candidates will have to pass submarine Qualifying Board.
- Candidates are entitled to receive Rs 17, 500 per month as submarine Pay and Allowance after qualifying the NAVAL ORIENTATION COURSE of 22 weeks at Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala
