BIT Mesra Hotel Management Admissions 2018

BIT Mesra Hotel Management Admissions process for the academic session 2018-19 has started from 28 February 2018. The candidates who are looking forward to getting admission in BIT Mesra BHMCT course can fill the application form from the link given towards the end of this page. Bachelor of Hotel Management & Catering Technology (BHMCT) is a 4 Year full-time undergraduate program which is divided into eight semesters in Hotel Management. This program is offered at BIT Mesra Campus Only. On successful completion of eight semesters, candidates are awarded a Degree of BHMCT. The academic session 2018-19 will commence from the last week of July 2018. Birla Institute of Technology has various campuses located in Mesra, Jaipur, Patna, Deogarh, Kolkata, Lalpur, Noida & Allahabad and also two international campuses, one in Muscat (Oman) and other in Ras al-Khaimah (UAE).

BIT Mesra Hotel Management Seats & Reservation

The total number of seats offered by the BIT Mesra for BIT Mesra Hotel Management is 40. However, the 50% of the total seats are reserved for the candidates who have passed their qualifying examination (Class 12) from Jharkhand State. 

Age Limit:

• In case of General category, the candidates' date of birth should fall on or after 1 October 1993 to be eligible for the admission in BIT Mesra Hotel Management Admission.
• In case of SC/ST/PH candidate’s date of birth should fall on or after 1 October 1988 to be eligible for the admission in BIT Mesra Hotel Management.

Academic Qualification:  

• Candidates must have passed Class 12 or Equivalent Qualifying Examination with English as a subject.
• Candidates seeking admission in BHMCT programme must have passed Class 12 or equivalent qualifying examination with 50% marks with English as a subject. The minimum percentage in qualifying exam for SC/ST is 45%.  Candidates appearing in the qualifying exam can also apply.
• In case the Board grants grades instead of marks, the calculation of equivalent marks would be based on the method prescribed by the Board. In Class 10 or Class 12, a candidate must have passed all the required subjects.

Step by Step guidance to fill the BHMCT Application Form

To apply for the admission in BIT Mesra Hotel Management course, the candidates need to apply online. However, the application process has not been started, but as soon as it gets started, the link to apply online will be updated soon. The instructions to fill the BHMCT Application Form is given below.

• STEP 1 (Register): The first step of the application process is to register yourself on the official website of BIT Mesra by creating a Username and Password. It is suggested not to share the username and password to anyone.
• STEP 2 (Fill the application form): The second step is to fill the BIT Mesra Hotel Management Application Form by filling all the required details in every section of the form.
• STEP 3 (Payment): After filling the application form, the candidates need to make the payment of the application fee through State Bank Collect. It is notified to the students that the fees once paid shall not be refunded. 
• STEP 4 (Submission):  At last, The candidates need to send a printout of the completed form along with the required documents to the office of the dean to complete the procedure of the Submission of the application form.

• Application Fee Payment: An original copy of the payment receipt should be attached along with printout of online application form
• Photographs: Candidates have to upload a recent colour photograph in the online application form. One photograph needs to be attached by clip to the form; the candidate must write his/her name along with "BHMCT-2018" on the back of the photograph. 
• Mark Sheets and Certificates: Candidates have to send the below-mentioned documents with “BHMCT 2018 applying for” written on the back of each of the photocopy:
• Pass certificate of Class 10
• Mark sheet of Class 10
• Mark sheet of Class 12 or equivalent
• Caste certificate (if applicable), which should be in proper format and signed by the appropriate authority of rank not less than SDO.
• Candidates belonging to other special categories mentioned like Physically Handicapped / Ward of BIT Employee/ Kashmiri Migrant) must provide a photocopy of the certificate in proper format from the appropriate authority.
• Photo identification: Any one of these is acceptable: Driving license, Passport, PAN Card, Voter ID, School / College ID.

Submission of the Application Form

The candidates after filling up the application form are suggested to ensure whether the details filled by them are correct in all aspect or not. Once the candidates are satisfied, they should submit the application form online.

The candidates are not required to send the application form anywhere. However, the candidates are suggested to take at least two printouts of the application form and keep the same with them for future reference

BIT Mesra BHMCT Application Fees are different as per the categories. The candidates belonging to the respective categories must pay their application fee accordingly. The candidates have to pay Application Fee through "State Bank Collect " from any Nationalized Bank. The category wise application fee is available in the table below.

Selection will be made on the basis of performance of the candidate in the entrance test conducted by the Institute. However,  the candidate must also fulfil the eligibility criteria as well. The candidates need to know that the admission coordinator will do the selection process and the decision of the department will be last and final, and no objection in this regard will be considered.

BHMCT Entrance exam will have 100 multiple choice questions of one mark each. 

Negative Marking: There will be NO negative marking.
