Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University Admission 2018

Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University admission popularly known as SMVD University or SMVDU is a Centrally Funded University located near Katra, Jammu & Kashmir. SMVD University offers technical education in the field of Engineering, Science, Management, Philosophy and other subjects. All technical courses are recognized by AICTE, CIC, COA. Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University offers the following courses at UG Level:

• Integrated M.Sc Economics
• B.Tech
• B.Arch

Admission will be done in the program mentioned above on the basis of class 12 marks, JEE Main & paper 2 and Jossa Counselling.

Eligibility for B.Tech Program

• Candidate applying for admission to B. Tech must satisfy the eligibility criteria as per JOSAA/CSAB 2018 guidelines.
• Candidates applying for admission to B.Tech. program through SMVDU Direct Counselling based on JEE(Main) 2018 Rank (CRL) must satisfy the eligibility criteria as per JOSAA/CSAB 2018 guidelines except that the minimum aggregate percentage obtained at 10+2 must be 60% or equivalent GPA 
• Candidates applying for admission through Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University Engineering Entrance 2018 (SMVDUEE-2018) must satisfy the following eligibility criteria:
  • Candidates whose date of birth falls on or after October 01, 1993 are eligible.
  • Candidates who have passed their Class 12th Exam or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2016 or 2017; or those who are appearing in their Class 12th Exam or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2018 are eligible to appear in SMVDUEE(Main)- 2018.
  • Not Eligible: Candidates who passed Class 12th/Qualifying examination in 2015 or before as well as those who will appear in such examination in 2019 or later are not eligible to appear in SMVDUEE – 2018.
  • Candidates must have taken at least five subjects in class 12th/qualifying examination in order to be eligible for writing SMVDUEE - 2018.

Eligibility for B.Arch Program

• Candidate applying for admission to B. Arch program should satisfy the eligibility criteria as per JOSAA/CSAB 2018 guidelines and Council of Architecture (CoA) guidelines.
• Candidates applying for admission to B.Arch. program through SMVDU Direct Counseling (Subject to availability of vacant seats) based on JEE(Main) 2018 Rank (CRL)-Paper-2 must satisfy the eligibility criteria as per JOSAA/CSAB 2018 guidelines except that the minimum aggregate percentage obtained at 10+2 must be 60% or equivalent GPA.

• Candidates having valid NATA 2018 Score will also be eligible for applying for admission to B.Arch. program through SMVDU Direct Counseling

Eligibility for Integrated M.Sc.(Economics)

• Applicant should have passed Senior Secondary (10+2) examination in any discipline from a recognized board with minimum 60% marks or equivalent CGPA with Mathematics/Statistics as the mandatory subject.

Steps to fill SMVDU Application Form

STEP 1: Registration: First of all, candidates have to register themselves by providing some general details. After successful registration, candidates will be able to fill the SMVDU Application Form.

STEP 2: Application Form: Candidates have to fill their personal details and academic details in the application form.

STEP 3: Upload: Candidates are required to upload the scanned image of his/her photograph & signature and father’s/mother’s/guardian’s signature on the application form. The photograph should be color or b/w (but clear contrast) with the name of the candidate and date of taking the photograph printed on it.

Payment of Application Fee: Candidates can pay the application fee through the online mode. The fee can be paid by credit/debit card/ Netbanking.

Submission of Application Form: The SMVDU Application Form can be submitted through the online mode. There is no need to send the application form to SMVDUEE-2018 Secretariat. Candidates should fill & submit the application form before the due date and should take the printout of the filled application for future reference.

• Character-Certificate from the Head of the Institution last attended or from the Gazetted officer (in a case of a gap in academics).
• Date of Birth Certificate
• Mark-sheet of all the relevant examinations passed
• Five recent passport size photographs.
• Two self-addressed (duly stamped) envelopes
• JEE Main Registration Card
• JEE Main Rank Card, 
• School leaving / Transfer / Migration Certificate.

For confirming the seats, the selected candidate will have to pay the complete annual fee (Annual Fee+ Annual Tuition Fee + Hostel Fee + Mess Fee + One Time Charges (Admission Fee) + Security Deposit - less Counselling Fee paid to JOSAA / CSAB, if admitted through JOSAA/CSAB)

B.Tech: Candidates will get admission in B.Tech program through the three possible routes such as JOSAA/CSAB, SMVDUEE 2018, and Direct Counselling based on JEE (Main)-2018 Rank (CRL). 

B.Arch: Candidates will get admission in B.Arch program through the JOSAA/CSAB and Direct Counselling based on JEE (Main)-2018 Rank (CRL). Candidates having valid NATA 2018 Score will also be eligible for applying for admission to B.Arch. program through SMVDU Direct Counseling. However, preference will be given to candidates with valid JEE (Main) 2018 Rank(CRL)-Paper-2.

Five Years Integrated M.Sc. (Economics) Program: Admission to Five Years Integrated M.Sc. (Economics) Program is made on the basis of Admission Test.

No Reservation: SMVDU has no reservation quota and the students are allotted seats solely on the basis of their merit.

• Merit List: The merit lists for Integrated MSc in all the Categories will be prepared on the basis of the marks secured in the qualifying examination of any recognized board.
• The Candidates who will be selected for admission as per the merit list must take admission within the time limit fixed in their case.
• Internship: All the selected students have to go for a compulsory training of 16-18 weeks during the 10th Semester in Corporate / Cooperative Sector or Government Institution or any other approved Organization. On successful completion of the Internship, every student will be required to prepare and submit, within the stipulated time, a dissertation on the work done during the Internship period.

B.Tech. & B.Arch Admissions - Admission to B.Tech. & B.Arch programs is made through Centralized Counseling conducted by the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) / Joint Seat Allocation authority (JOSAA) constituted each year by MHRD, GOI based on the JEE Main All India Rank.

In Case of vacant seats: In the event of some seats remaining vacant after completion of JOSAA/CSAB process, the same may be filled by SMVDU through Direct Counseling from the Application Forms received against the National level advertisement that may be issued by the University for the purpose. The Direct Counseling shall also be conducted on the basis of JEE Main All India Rank (CRL) 2018 only.

Counselling Procedure of SMVDU

Counselling process for the courses will commence from 3rd week of July 2018. Candidates have to visit the required counselling centre according to their course. All the candidates are advised to read the guidelines given below.

Guidelines for SMVDU Counselling

•  At the time of admission, it is mandatory for the candidate to be present physically at the venue.
• Candidates have to bring the all original documents and certificates at the counselling centre else his/her admissions will be canceled.
• Candidates failing to reach counselling centre shall forgo the provisional seat allotted and same will be allotted to the Wait Listed Candidates.
• In any case, admissions will not be given to the candidates if he/she fails to bring the original documents and admission fees.
