About JSS Medical College
JSS Medical College popularly known as JSSMC is a medical college situated in Mysore in the state of Karnataka, India is a constituent college of the JSS University from the Academic year 2008-2009. JSS Medical College offers an undergraduate course in medicine (MBBS) and postgraduate degree (MD/MS) and Diploma programmes in 30 medical disciplines. The admission in JSS Medical Colleges is invited on the basis of NEET UG scores. All the Undergraduate and Postgraduate Courses that are being taught have been recognised by the Medical Council of India. Courses offered are also recognised by General Medical Council (UK), Sri Lanka Medical Council and WHO.
According to the Ministry of Ayush, it is notified that the admission in MBBS course will be based on NEET scores. Ministry of AYUSH has requested all the state government to admit candidates in undergraduate courses through NEET scores. So all those students who are looking forward to admission in MBBS course need to apply through NEET. The candidates can fill the NEET application form.

JSS Medical College Eligibility criteria
Age: Candidate must have completed the 17 years of age on or before December 31 of the year of admission.
Academic Qualification
- The candidate seeking admission to MBBS Course must have passed Class 12/ PUC II or any other equivalent examination from any recognised Board / University in India of Abroad after 12 years of study.
- During the last two years of schooling, the candidate should have studied Physics, Chemistry & Biology (PCB) with English as a compulsory subject.
- Candidates must have these subjects individually and must have obtained 50% marks in PCB taken together and should have also passed in the English language. (40% in case of SC, ST, and OBC Category Candidates)
The percentage in Qualifying Exam: Candidates should have also secured not less than 50 percentile in PCB in the NEET Exam 2018. (40 percentile case of SC, ST, and OBC Category Candidates)
JSS Medical College Application form and Admit Card
For the purpose of admission to MBBS Programme, candidates can apply to JSS Medical College within the time limit specified and by submitting their NEET score while filling the application form.
To appear in NEET exam, the candidates need to fill the NEET application form. However, the separate application form of JSS Medical College will also be filled for the admission in MBBS course.

- By Downloading: Candidates can download the JSS Medical College Application Form from the link given below and submit the duly filled in form to the University which must reach the JSSU University on or before August 3rd week 2018.
- By Post: Candidates can also purchase the Application Form by sending the Application Fee via Demand Draft of Rs. 200 drawn in favour of “JSS UNIVERSITY FEE ACCOUNT”, MYSORE, payable at MYSORE. The duly filled in application Form has to be submitted to the University before the specified date.
JSS Medical College Application Form - Steps to be followed
Applicants can download the Online application form for the admission in JSS Medical college from the link given above. Steps for filling up and submission of the application are given below.
STEP 1 (Downloading the Application Form)
- The first step of JSS Medical College Application Form is to download the application form through the link which will be available soon on this page when available.
- The Application Form should be submitted as Downloaded Hard Copy only. Applicants have to fill in the application form in written only.
STEP 2 (Filling up the Application Form)
- The candidates need to fill the application form by mentioned the required details in every section of the form. The details provided by the candidates should be correct.
- Candidates have to fill in all the entries in Capital Letters Only with neat and clear handwriting. The candidates should remember not to overwrite on any section of the application form.
STEP 3 (Affix Photograph & Declaration)
- Candidates have to affix a recent passport size photographs in the space provided. Photograph must be taken with name of candidate (as in application) and date of taking
- The declaration in the application form is to be signed both by the candidates and the parent/ guardian of the candidate.
STEP 4 (Submission)
- At last after checking all the details of the duly filled in application form. The candidates need to submit the application form along with the documents mentioned below.
- The candidates need to know that incomplete or the application carrying wrong information will be rejected by the College.
List of documents to be attached to JSS Medical Application Form
Candidates have to send the attested copies of the following documents along with the application form and kindly arrange the documents in the following order:
- NEET 2018 Score Card & Rank Card
- NEET 2018 Test Admit Card
- S.S.L.C./Equivalent examination marks card.
- Class 12 mark sheet / II P.U.C./Equivalent examination marks card.
- In the case of graduates Marks cards of B.Sc.,/Equivalent examination of all the three years.
- Character and Transfer certificate issued by the college last studied.
- Date of birth certificate if not mentioned in the SSLC/ Equivalent examination marks card.
- Caste/ community certificate.
- Transfer certificate for Karnataka board candidates.
- Migration Certificate issued by the Board/ University in case of candidates other than Karnataka State education board.
- Six recent, identical passport-size colour photographs with name and date
- In addition, one copy of the photo should be pasted on the application form in the space provided
- An additional copy of your recent passport-size colour photograph with applicant’s name written on the back of the photograph.
- Foreign Nationals seeking admission should obtain eligibility certificate issued by JSS University, MYSORE.
Payment of Application Fee
- The JSS Medical Application Fee would be paid through the Demand Draft. The application fee of Rs. 1,000 only by way of Demand Draft drawn in favour of “JSS UNIVERSITY FEE ACCOUNT”, MYSORE, payable at MYSORE.
- Candidates are required to write their name, address and “Application for admission to MBBS courses” on the back side of the Demand Draft.
Submission of Application Form
The duly filled in Application Form along with requisite documents as detailed above along with demand draft for Rs.1000 has to be sent to the below-mentioned address either by speed post, courier or by hand.

Important Guidelines for filling up the JSS Medical Application Form
- Do not send Original Documents: Candidates are not required to send any Original Documents along with the Application form.
- Acknowledgement: Candidates themselves have to ascertain from the University office whether his application has reached the university office or not.
- Do not send Multiple Applications: Multiple application forms received from the same candidate will result in disqualification of the candidature.
- Do not Staple: Do not staple Demand Draft and additional photograph to the application form. Instead of that use clips.
- No changes in the application form will be entertained after submission.
JSS Medical College Fees
JSS Medical Application Fee:
Candidates are required to pay an Application Fee of Rs 1,000 via Demand Draft drawn from any nationalised bank in favour of “JSS UNIVERSITY FEE ACCOUNT”, MYSORE, payable at MYSORE.
JSS Medical College Fee Structure for MBBS Course
The selected candidate will be required to pay the entire amount of annual fee on the day of counselling itself through Bank Draft drawn in the name of for “The Principal, JSS Medical College, MYSORE”, payable at MYSORE.

JSS Medical College Result and Counselling
JSS University will prepare a merit list for admission to MBBS Course at the constituent institutions of the University, on the basis of NEET 2018 Test Score and rank obtained by the candidates in NEET 2018. JSS Medical College Merit List will be displayed on the official website on August 3rd week 2018.
JSS Medical College Counselling 2018
- Counselling Schedule and Call letter will be made available on the official website later on. No separate counselling call letter will be sent to the candidate. Candidates are required to download the counselling call letter and attend the counselling as per schedule announced on the website.
- Counselling would be conducted in the auditorium after scrutinising all the Original documents and also making use of Biometric verification and Photo-identification of the candidates.
- Candidates will be allotted seats on the basis of Rank obtained and the availability of Seats. Candidates should be physically present at the time of Counselling and for On the spot Admission.
Until the last year, JSS Medical College MBBS Admissions were done on the basis of the rank list prepared by the University from the test scores/rank obtained by them in the COMEDK UGET.
But from this year onward MBBS admissions will be based on NEET 2018 Exam Score only. Moreover, Individual Counselling is also conducted by JSS Medical College. JSS Medical College does not participate in the COMEDK Counselling.
Documents to be submitted at the time of JSS Medical Counselling
At the time of reporting for the counselling, the candidate is required to produce the documents (original and three sets of photocopies) as listed below:
- Call Letter for Counselling
- NEET Rank Card
- NEET Admit Card
- S.S.L.C./ Equivalent examination marks card.
- Class 12 mark sheet/ II P.U.C./ Equivalent examination marks card.
- In case of graduates Marks cards of B.Sc.,/ Equivalent examination
- ConduCharacter and Transfer certificate issued by the college last studied.
- Date of birth certificate if not mentioned in the SSLC/Equivalent examination marks card.
- Physical fitness certificate issued by a Medical Officer
- Caste/ community certificate.
- Transfer certificate for Karnataka board candidates.
- Migration Certificate issued by the Board /University in the case of candidates other than Karnataka State education board.
- Three Passport size photo’s, of which one to be affixed to the application form in space provided
- Foreign Nationals seeking admission should obtain eligibility certificate issued by JSS University, MYSORE.
- An affidavit in the format signed by the candidate and countersigned by the Parent/guardian in the presence of Notary Public on a stamp paper of Rs.50
- Demand Draft of Nationalized Bank for Tuition fees drawn in favour of: “The Principal, JSS Medical College, MYSORE”, payable at MYSORE.
Under no circumstances, if the admission is confirmed, original documents submitted to the University will not be returned back to the candidate. SS Medical College Counselling will be conducted at the following venue:

JSS Medical College Exam pattern
The admission of the candidates to MBBS /BDS course in any government and private medical colleges in India will be done on the basis of NEET scores. The candidates need to follow the NEET exam pattern and syllabus which includes the number of questions, type of question, negative marking, etc.
- Marking Scheme: Four Marks will be awarded for each correct response. There is Negative marking in NEET 2018 exam and one mark will be deducted from the total score.
- Medium of Exam: NEET 2018 will be conducted in 10 languages that are Hindi, English, Bengali, Assamese, Oriya, Gujarati, Marathi, Tamil, Telegu and Kannada.
- Number of Questions: There will be total of 180 questions from all the subjects given in the table below:

Seats Reservation:
- 15% of total seats are reserved for NRI/ Foreign National/ PIO.
- 5% of the seats are reserved for Institutional preference.
