Indian Navy Pilot/Observer/Air Traffic Controller for Course Commencing Jan 2019

Indian Navy Pilot/Observer/Air Traffic Controller Application Process for Course Commencing in Jan 2019 for short service commission (SSC) has started from 11 February 2018 and the last date to apply online is 4 March 2018. Applications are invited from Unmarried Men and Women (Indian Citizens) who have completed their B.E. /B.Tech with minimum 60% Marks till 5th and 7th Sem will be eligible for the for filling applications for Indian Navy Pilot / Observer/ Air Traffic Controller (SSC) in Indian Navy for the course commencing in January 2019 at Indian Naval Academy Ezhimala, Kerala.

The last date for making online application is 4 March 2018 for the application of Indian Navy Pilot/Air Traffic Controller Recruitment 2018.

• Indian Navy Recruitment will be for Short Service Commission Scheme for Pilot and Air Traffic Controller (ATC) and Observer, no extension or permanent commission will be given to the candidates beyond 14 years.
•  For Air Traffic Controller Officers Short Service Commission is granted initially for ten years extendable by maximum 04 years in 02 terms (02 years + 2 years) subject to service requirements, performance and willingness of candidates.

Indian Navy Pilot Officer Duties

• Wings will be awarded to Pilots on completing their basic flying training and Commission.
• They will Fly Fixed Wing Aircraft or Helicopters which could be from an aircraft carrier, other ship decks or an airfield.
• They will actively participate in all facets of Naval.
  
  

Indian Navy Air Traffic Controller Duties

• Candidates will be inducted as officers in the rank of Sub-Lieutenant
• The Indian Navy operates various types of modern aircraft from shore as well as from ships.
• Air Traffic Control Officers in the Indian Navy control naval fighter aircraft, maritime reconnaissance aircraft and multi-role helicopters both ashore and afloat.
  
  

Indian Navy Naval Armament Inspection Officer Duties

• Responsibilities of inspection of the Armament supplied to the Indian Navy from other agencies.
• House research and development, quality assurance, Safety and reliability of the Naval armament and their storages.
• Exposure to the modern and latest technology development of armament and their keeping.

Indian Navy Observer Duties

• Observer officers will be a part of Naval Aviation Arm.
• They will be airborne tacticians and will operate modern equipment like Sonar, Radar, Communication and Electronic Warfare Equipment.
• They will be responsible for launching airborne weapons.
• They will actively participate in all facets of Naval.

Nationality: Only Indian citizens are eligible for application. Unmarried male and female are eligible to apply.

Age/Gender

• For Pilot (MR): Male or Female born between 2 January 1995 and 1 January 2000.
• For Pilot (Other Than MR): Male Only, Born between 2 January 1995 and 1 January 2000; both dates inclusive.
• For ATC: Male or Female born between 2 January 1994 and 1 January 1998.
• CPL Holders: Candidates having valid and current CPL (Commercial Pilot Licence) issued by DGCA (India) and born between 02 Jan 1994 and 01 Jan 2000 (both dates inclusive) can apply for Pilot entry.
• For NAI Officers: 19.5 to 25 years i.e. born between July 02, 1993 and July 01 1999.

Educational Qualifications

• Pilot Officer: Completed or in Final Year of B.E/B.Tech. in any discipline and Physics & Mathematics at Class 12 and must have minimum 60% marks till the 5th and 7th Sem in the of Engineering Degree Course.
• Air Traffic Controller Officer: For ATC entry, the candidate must have 60% aggregate marks in class X and XII and minimum 60% marks in English in class XII. The candidates will, however, be required to pass the final examination (BE/B Tech) with minimum 60% marks. The candidates failing to meet minimum cut off % age will not be permitted to join INA Ezhimala.

Guidelines for Filling the Indian Navy Online Application Form

• Fill the online registration form and the details must be filled as per Matriculation Certificate.
• E-mail address and Mobile number must be filled in order to complete the application process.
• Candidates should mention their priority (Pilot or ATC) in the application form while filling the online application form.
• Every detail filled by the applicants will be verified, it is mandatory to enter the exact percentages of each semester of their degree and school. Any ambiguity and false information may lead to the termination of the application.
• Applicants have to carry the printouts of the application form with the same application number which is to be produced at the time of the SSB Interview along with original documents.certificates. 

Submission of the Application Form

Indian Navy Pilot /Air Traffic Controller Applications are to be submitted in online mode only. Candidates do not have to send the printouts of the application form via post. The Shortlisted candidates will be informed on their registered email id and mobile number.

There will be no exam for the recruitment process and the selection process will consist of two stages.The Candidates will be informed about their performance at the end of each round of SSB Interview and Medical Examination. The SSB Interview is a 5-day procedure and consists of the two stages i.e. Stage 1 (day 1) and Stage 2 (Four days). 

Indian Navy SSB Interview of the Shortlisted Candidates

Shortlisted candidates will be informed via email or SMS regarding their selection for the Interview. The Candidates will be issued call letters for Service Selection Board interviews based on their performance in educational qualification as per the cut off percentage fixed by Ministry of Defence.

• Venue of the Interview: SSB interviews of the short-listed candidates will be scheduled from May 2018 to June 2018 at Bangalore for Pilot/Observer and at Bangalore/Bhopal/Coimbatore/Visakhapatnam for Air Traffic Controller.

The SSB interview will be of 5 days and will consist of two rounds.

• Round 1: It will consist Intelligence Test, Picture Perception Test, and Group Discussion Task. It will be an elimination round, and only the candidate selected in Round 1 will move to round 2.
• Round 2: It consists Psychological Tests, Group Tasks, and Interview.

Aviation Medical Examination

Candidates who fail in round 1 of the interview will be sent back on the same day, while candidates who will clear the Round 2 will undergo Pilot Aptitude Battery Tests and Aviation Medical Examination depending upon their preference of Post. Candidates of Observer entry will also undergo Aviation medical examination. 

Candidates recommended by the SSB cleared PABT (for Pilot Entry) and declared medically fit will be appointed for training based on merit list and depending on the number of vacancies available.

Training for Indian Navy Pilot/Observer/Air Traffic Controller

Candidates who have cleared all the stages of Indian navy recruitment process will undergo training of 22 weeks and will be on probation for a period of 2 years at Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimalain end of December 2018 with full pay and allowances are admissible to officers whilst under training.

• For Pilot Entry: 22 weeks of Naval Orientation Course at INA, Ezhimala followed by Stage 1 and Stage 2 flying training at the Air Force Academy/Naval Establishment.
• For Air Traffic Controller: Candidates will undergo 22 weeks of Naval Orientation Course at the Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, Kerala followed by professional training at various Naval Training Establishments/Units/Ships.
• For NAIC Entry: Candidates will undergo Naval Orientation Course at the Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, Kerala followed by professional training at various Naval Training Establishments/Units/Ships. 
• For Observer Entry: 22 weeks of Naval Orientation Course at INA, Ezhimala followed by training at Observer School.

The given below pay and perks will be granted to the candidates selected as Pilot/ATC in Indian Navy. The given below pay and perks are updated by the government after 7th CPC. The promotion from Sub Lieutenant to Commander is time scale basis subject to completion of mandatory courses, sea time & medical conditions.

• The cost to Company CTC: The CTC of a Sub Lieutenant will be Rs. 72,444 to 81,700 per month including basic pay, HRA, DA, Grade Pay, Flying allowance and Transport allowance.(being revised as per 7th CPC)
