About AFMC MBBS
AFMC 2018 MBBS admission will be done on the basis of NEET UG score. AFMC MBBS application form 2018 has been started from 13 June by Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). Aspirants who have qualified for NEET 2018 can apply for AFMC MBBS admission. AFMC, Pune has released the official AFMC MBBS Brochure 2018 for the aspirants. AFMC MBBS admission is the basis for admission to 150 candidates - including 117 are boys, 28 girls and 5 will be Govt. sponsored candidates. After the last date of registration, list of candidates registered will be provided by MCC. AFMC MBBS 2018 merit list will be prepared including the NEET roll number of selected aspirants. Around of 1750 candidates included in the rank list will be called for screening test - ToELR, PAT, interview and medical examination. Based on NEET scores and screening test, two separate AFMC merit list will be prepared, one for boys and girls, respectively. - AFMC is affiliated to Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik and is recognised by the Medical Council of India.
- NEET 2018 will be conducted on 6 May 2018. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are eligible for All India 15% quote seats counselling. Earlier AP, Telangana, and Jammu Kashmir have opted out of NEET so they did not offer 15% all India Quota seats. Eligible students from these states have to appear in NEET for admission to AFMC Pune.
The admission in MBBS Course at AFMC Pune for session 2018 will be done based on NEET. The candidates after successfully clearing the NEET exam would be responsible to register themselves on the Medical Counselling Committee website

About AFMC MBBS Course
AFMC has been ranked among the top medical colleges of India, with the Outlook 2012 survey ranking it second amongst all the undergraduate medical institutions of the country.
- Course Duration: The duration of MBBS course is 4 ½ years followed by compulsory rotating internship training of one year.
- Signing of the Bond: The Candidate’s Parents/Guardians are required to sign the bond agreement. There is no tuition fee charged by AFMC and the students are rather given various kinds of allowances to pursue their studies and are hence not expected to leave the course in between and for this the candidates have to sign a bond amount of Rs 27,00,000 for admission to MBBS in the year 2017 towards and in case the students leave the MBBS course in mid-session then they would have to pay Bond Amount
- Type of Commission: The candidates admitted to AFMC for MBBS Course have compulsory liability to serve as Commissioned Officers (in one of the three services, viz. Army, Navy and Air Force) in the Armed Forces Medical Services after completion of MBBS. Details of the Commissions are given below:

AFMC MBBS Eligibility criteria
General Eligibility: A candidate seeking admission to the MBBS course is eligible to take the entrance examination only if they meet the below mentioned general eligibility:
- Nationality: The candidate must be Indian Citizen. Foreign national of Indian Original can also take admission to AFMC (subject to getting Indian Citizenship or certificate of eligibility issued by Ministry of Home Affairs).
- Marital Status: Must be unmarried. Marrying during the course is not permitted.
- Should be medically fit as per the norms laid by the Govt. of India, Ministry of Defence.
- Age criteria: The candidate should have completed the age of 17 years on 31 December 2018 but must not have attained the age of 24 years on that date.
Academic Qualifications:
- The candidate must have passed all the opted subjects in the very first attempt of the last qualifying examinations.
- The candidate must have been a regular student with English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology taken simultaneously and must have secured minimum 60% aggregate in these 3 science subjects taken together.
- The candidate should not have secured less than 50% marks in English and 50% marks in each of the science subjects.
- They must have also passed an examination in Mathematics of the 10th standard.
Non-Eligibility:
- If passed in Domestic Science, Domestic Arithmetic, Lower Maths separately or in combination with other subjects like General Science/ Social Studies in High School/Higher Secondary (Multipurpose) or equivalent examination.
- If passed only Pre-University/Pre-Degree (one year course) or Pre-Professional in Agriculture/Veterinary/Dental Examination.
- If passed the Pre-professional or equivalent qualifying examination as a Private candidate or from Open schools.
- If securing the requisite percentage but in subsequent attempts or compartment examination.
AFMC MBBS Application form and Admit Card
All the eligible candidates have to apply Online for admission to AFMC MBBS for the academic session 2018-19. The candidates are required to register and apply online on using NEET 2018 Roll No. The candidates are informed to apply on or before the due date. Steps to be followed while filling the AFMC Application Form
The Application process consists of 3 stages and the details regarding the application process are as follow:
- STEP 1 (Registration): The Candidates need to register on the AFMC’s website using their NEET 2018 Roll number. The NEET Roll number will be required for being recognised to AFMC Pune at all the stages of admission.
- STEP 2 (Filling Qualification Details): The candidates need to log in to their account using the relevant details and fill in the details related to their academic qualification.
- STEP 3 (Filling The Personal Details): The Candidates need to fill in their personal details such as name the of their parents, postal address along with a scanned copy of photograph and signature. After filling all the details the Challan for the payment of the fee at any SBI branch can be printed.
- STEP 4 (Payment of the Fee): The application fee of Rs. 250 can be paid at any branch of SBI using the challan generated at the end of the application form. The candidates can check the status of their application form by logging into their account on AFMC’s Website.

Important Points to Remember while filling up the application form
- The Application Forms must be filled Online before the last date.
- Do not use NEET Registration Number as it may lead to cancellation of the candidature.
- AFMC should not be held responsible for any such mistakes on the part of the candidate.
AFMC MBBS Fees
AFMC Application Fees: Rs 250
There is no tuition fee for MBBS at AFMC Pune. The Government provides various allowances to candidates pursuing the course.
Allowances to Students in AFMC
- Entitled rations as authorised and subsidised messing arrangements.
- Hostel Accommodation: Free hostel accommodation and allied services.
- Travel Allowance: During the terms vacations candidates are provided AC-3 Tier railway warrant for the journey from college to home and back.
- After the candidates have been commissioned, they are produced First Class/AC2 Tier rail journey on railway warrant.
- Books Allowance: Throughout the training tenure, every medical cadet gets the subsidy of Rs. 12000 for the purchase of books and equipment. The amount will be issued proportionately during I, II and III years of MBBS.
- Uniform allowance - Every medical cadet gets Rs. 6000 during the first year and Rs 1250 in the followed year as maintenance allowance.
- Hair Cutting/Hair Cleaning Allowance of 140 per month per medical cadet.
- Stationery grant.
- Washing allowance.
- All AFMC cadets are provided Insurance / Disability benefits by Army Group Insurance Fund on payment of Rs 7200 as a one-time non-refundable premium.
- Insurance
The premium to be paid is as follows:
- One time- non-refundable Premium- Rs 6200
- Additional premium: Rs 857 (Every six months).
Benefits that will be provided to the cadets are as follows
- Death benefit of Rs 15,00,000
- Rs 7,50,000 in case of 100% disability
- Rs1,50,000 for 20% disability.
AFMC MBBS Result and Counselling
The AFMC Selection will be done in four stages. The candidates while appearing for each of the stages should follow the terms decided by the individual body. The four stages in which the selection will be done is described on this page below.
- The selection into the AFMC will be done based on NEET UG 2018 score and screening at AFMC. The Air Force Medical College will draw the two separate merit lists, one for boys and another one for girls.
- The admission will be offered to the shortlisted candidates in accordance with their final merit position.
- The remaining seat will be fallen under the waiting list. The result for the AFMC shortlisted candidates will be displayed on the official website and also at O/o DGAFMS and Admission cell AFMC Pune.
AFMC MBBS Seats
There are total 130 MBBS seats (105 for Boys and 25 for Girls). Out of 130, ten seats have been reserved for scheduled castes/scheduled tribes. Also, to the above 130 seats, Govt of India at its sole discretion through Ministry of External Affairs & Ministry of Defence may select few foreign students from friendly foreign countries for MBBS training in AFMC, under their aid/collaboration programmes.

AFMC Merit List - Based on NEET Score
Interviews will start after the merit list is declared by AFMC Pune. The meritorious candidate can download their interview letter from login ID. In case any candidate does not receive call letter for the interview, they can contact in their respective department. The last year merit list is given below. This year merit list will be available once it is out.
Service Conditions after passing out from AFMC Pune
- On successful completion of MBBS, for at least seven years all the students have to serve in the medical services of the Armed Forces
- All the students have a compulsory liability i.e. to serve as Commissioned Officers in the Armed Forces Medical Services.
- The offer of the type of commission will depend on the vacancies available.
- The parents/guardians of the students are required to sign a bond agreement at the time of admission.
- The candidates are offered the status of being Class 1 Gazetted Officers.
- They are paid as per the Central Government pay scale.
- They receive some perks and an opportunity to serve in India as well as abroad as part of Indian Contingents in UN Peacemaking Missions.
- AFMC will release Merit list of provisionally shortlisted candidates (based on NEET Score) for Interview, ToELR and Medical Examination.
- Final Merit List of the of the selected candidates who have appeared in Interview and are declared medically fit will be declared after that. AFMC will declare two lists viz are, Selection List and Waiting List.
Information Regarding the AFMC MBBS Vacant Seats
Last year AFMC, Pune released the status of the vacant seats available for the admission in the MBBS programme. The candidates who were on the first waiting list i.e. Boys BW - 01 to BW -100 and Girls GW - 01 to GW - 25 were advised to report to the OIC Admission cell on 7 August 2017 before 9:00 AM. The vacant seat would be filled in order of the merit of the candidates.
