About IMU CET
IMU CET 2018 will be conducted on 2 June. The conducting authority, Indian Maritime University (IMU) conducts IMU CET for admission to various undergraduate and postgraduate programmes offered in IMU and other affiliated institutes. IMU CET 2018 admit card has been released on 16 May. The link to download IMU CET hall ticket has been provided on this page. Only aspirants who have submitted their application form before the due date with paying the fee can download IMU CET admit card. The entrance test will contain 200 objective type questions from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English, General Knowledge and Aptitude. Only 3 hours will be allotted to complete IMU CET 2018. After the completion of the test, the competent authority has declared IMU CET result 2018 on 5 June. Only candidates who will qualify the test will be called for counselling process which will begin from 7 June 2018. BBA (Newly Introduced) - The Indian Maritime University has introduced a new course i.e BBA (Logistics, Retailing, and E-Commerce) from the academic year 2018-19 and there will be no CET for the admission in this programme.
- The candidates applying for the BBA programme also need to register for admission when the application starts.
- MSc in Commercial Shipping and Logistics - (Newly Introduced, Non-Seafearers candidate need to appear in IMU CET for admission in this programme).

IMU CET Eligibility criteria
Age: The candidates must be minimum 17 years and not more than 25 as on 1 August 2018
Academic Qualification
- The Candidate who have passed Class 12 or equivalent in the first attempt. Candidate must have appeared in the qualifying exam on or after 1 August 2018.
- Those appearing in Class 12 (Qualifying Exam) can also appear for IMU CET 2018 provided they appear in the Qualifying exam before 31 May 2018.

In case of SC/ST candidates there will be a 5% relaxation in eligibility marks; however, it will not apply to English marks.
Course wise Eligibility requirement for Admission to IMU
The eligibility criteria required for the admission in various courses are different. Therefore, the candidates are suggested to go through the eligibility criteria of the course they are opting for before filling the application form. The criteria for the different courses are given below.
For DNS B.Sc Nautical Science & B.Sc Maritime Science
- Candidates who will be selected for DNS, B.Sc. (Nautical Science) & B.Sc. (Maritime Science) Should have a 6/6 (normal) in each eye.They are not allowed to wear glasses.
- Admissions to Diploma in Nautical Science leading to B.Sc. (Nautical Science) programme in IMU Affiliated Institutes is open only to "sponsored candidates" i.e. candidates sponsored by Ship Owning or Managing Companies who qualify in IMU’s CET for UG programmes.
- A Diploma in Nautical Science calls for minimum 60% secured as aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, Electronics and Mathematics in Class 12 or equivalent.
- Only unmarried candidates are eligible to apply for DNS, B.Sc (Nautical Science) and B.Sc (Maritime Science).
For B.Tech Courses
- Candidates joining B.Tech.(Marine Engineering) Degree course, distance vision (unaided 0.5 (6/12) in each eye or 0.67 (6/9) in better eye and 0.33 (6/18) in another eye. Normal colour vision shall be tested by Ishihara test chart.
- For candidates joining T.S. Chanakya, MERI, Mumbai and MERI, Kolkata their eyesight standard should conform to the New Entry Standard as per Mercantile Marine Department of Government of India.
For BBA (Logistics, Retailing and ECommerce)
- The candidates should have passed 10+2/ equivalent with minimum 60% of aggregate marks in any stream and with the minimum of 50% marks in English subject in Class 10/ 12 examinations.
- The percentage of the aggregate marks will be calculated by considering the marks scored in English subject plus the marks scored in the major subjects. However, the other languages will not be included in this calculation.
- In case of SC/ST candidates there will be a 5% relaxation in eligibility marks; however, it will not apply to English marks
IMU CET Application form and Admit Card
The candidates will be able to apply for IMU CET 2018 ONLY online. There is no offline process of filling the IMU CET 2018 Application Form and it can be filled through an online mode.IMU CET 2018 Application Form has to be filled in two stages. The Online Registration Process will be considered complete in all respects only when both the stages have been done correctly. Once the payment details have been updated the Online Registration Process is complete then no further editing will be possible.

- Stage 2: Candidates have to pay the IMU CET 2018 Application Fees Online

IMU CET 2018 Admit Card
The IMU CET admit card has been made available from 16 May 2018 and the candidates who have successfully filled the application form can download the admit card. Candidates have received an automated notification via SMS or Email regarding the availability of the IMU CET Admit Card 2018. Aspirants need to log in to their account using User id and Password. IMU CET Fees
The application fee for the courses offered through IMU CET and BBA (Logistics, Retailing and ECommerce) is different.The fee has to be paid through online mode only that is credit card/debit card/net banking. IMU CET Result and Counselling
IMU CET Result 2018 has been declared on 5 June 2018. The candidates who appeared in the exam would be able to check the result by following the link given below. After the declaration of the IMU CET result, the selection process for the admission to the university will start and the candidates will be offered admission based on the selection criteria. The important information regarding the same is given below.
- Physical Fitness Test: As per the guidelines laid down by the Director General of Shipping, Mumbai all the candidates need to clear the physical fitness test which is essential for admission.
- Medical Fitness Certificate: The prospective candidates are required to produce a medical fitness certificate in the prescribed format issued by a Medical Officer approved by Directorate General of Shipping
- All the desirous candidates who wish to join these courses are advised to apply for Passport before taking admission.
IMU CET 2018 Counselling (In Online Mode)
The shortlisted candidates will be called for Counselling at designated IMU Campus(es) and will involve verification of original mark sheets and certificates, physical fitness clearance, and allotment of seats in the IMU Campuses or Affiliated Institute
IMU counselling will be done in online mode, the candidate need not be physically present for the counselling. The allotment of seats in IMU Campuses would be done based on the online counselling. To get the complete information, the candidates are suggested to follow the link below.
IMU Counselling Dates
The counselling will start on 7 June and end on 14 July. It would be done in online mode and only valid for admission in IMU Campus. For admission in other colleges that accept admission based on IMU CET, the students will have to apply individually to these colleges and follow the schedule.

IMU CET 2018 Syllabus
Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, English, General Knowledge and Aptitude at Plus 2 level (CBSE, ISE and State Boards).
IMU CET 2018 will be conducted in 36 centres across the country. Until the last year, the IMU CET was conducted in 35 centres. From this year, one more centre is now added by the Indian Maritime University. The IMU CET exam will be conducted in 36 centres. The name of the centres is given in the table below.
