About AP LAWCET & PGLCET
AP LAWCET 2018 & PGLCET 2018 are the Pen and Paper Based common law entrance test that will be conducted by the CONVENER, AP LAWCET 2018 & PGLCET 2018, Department of Law, Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati on behalf of the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE). The application process of AP LAWCET 2018 & PGLCET 2018 is started from 9 March 2018 and candidates can fill the application form by 5 April 2018 without any late fee.
- AP LAWCET 2018 (LAW Common Entrance Test) is for admission into 3 Year/ 5 Year LLB Regular Courses in the Colleges of Law in Andhra Pradesh for the academic year 2018-19.
- PGLCET 2018 is for admission to LLM courses
- LL.M Courses are offered as full-time regular courses in the University Colleges, constituent/PG Colleges of the University and Private Law Colleges affiliated to the Universities.
- The candidates seeking admission into LLM (self-financing) and LLM (Private Appearance) of Osmania University, Hyderabad also need to qualify in the PGLCET 2018.

AP LAWCET & PGLCET Eligibility criteria
Eligibility Criteria for AP LAWCET 2018
3-year LL.B Course (After Graduation)
- Academic Qualification and Minimum Marks: The Candidates who want to appear for 3 years L.L.B. course should have passed any Graduate Degree from a recognized University with 45% of aggregate marks or any other Examination recognized as equivalent by the Universities concerned. The aggregate marks for BC candidates is 42% and for SC/ST candidates is 40%.
- If any candidate secured less than 45% in graduation then he should have passed any additional graduation or post graduation with 45% marks.
5 Year LL.B. Course (After Class 12)
- Academic Qualification and Minimum Marks: The Candidates applying for 5 years LL.B. should have passed 2-year Intermediate Examination (10+2 pattern) with 45% of aggregate marks or any other examination recognized as equivalent by the University concerned or the Board of Intermediate Education, A.P. The aggregate marks for BC candidates is 42% and for SC/ST candidates is 40%.
Eligibility Criteria for PGLCET 2018
- Candidates holding LLB/BL degree with minimum aggregate marks of 50% can apply. Candidates who have appeared/appearing for LL.B./B.L. final year examination are also eligible. The minimum aggregate marks for SC/ST candidates is 45%.
- The Candidates seeking admission into LL.M. (Private Appearance) of Osmania University, Hyderabad shall have a minimum experience of 3-years as a judicial officer or 3-years standing as an advocate on the date of appearing for PGLCET-2018.
Nationality
The candidate should be an Indian National and should satisfy Local/Unreserved status requirement as laid down in the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admissions) Order, 1974 and the amendments made thereto from time to time.
Age on admission
The maximum age limit for a candidate seeking admission into the following course as on 31 December 2018 (year of taking admission)
- 5-year LLB Course
- OC candidates should not complete 20 years of age as on 31 December 2018
- SC/ST/BC candidates should not complete 22 years of age as on 31 December 2018
- OC candidates should not complete 20 years of age as on 31 December 2018

3-year LL.B Course
- OC candidates should not complete 30 years of age as on 31 December 2018.
- SC/ST/BC candidates should not complete 35 years of age as on 31 December 2018.
Not Eligible to appear in AP LAWCET/ PGLCET 2018
The applicants who have obtained 10+2 or graduation/post graduation through open Universities system directly without having any basic qualification for prosecuting such studies are not eligible for admission into the law courses.
AP LAWCET & PGLCET Application form and Admit Card
There would be an only online application for AP LAWCET 2018 and PGCLET 2018. The online application is started on 9 March 2018 and the last date to apply without late fee is 5 April 2018. To fill an online application, the candidates have to visit the official website of AP LAWCETand PGCLET 2018 at https://www.sche.ap.gov.in. or can click on the following link.
AP LAWCET and PGLCET Application Form 2018
The candidates can fill the online application form by providing their personal details, educational details, residential details and contact details. AP LAWCET and PGLCET application form fee can be paid in two ways: AP Online and Credit/Debit card.
Submission of Application Form
AP LAWCET & APPLGCET Application Form should be submitted only through online mode. The application form can be submitted without late fee till 5 April 2018. Candidate no need to send print-out of the application form.
AP LAWCET and PGLCET Admit Card 2018
The admit card for AP LAWCET & APPLGCET examination will be available from 12 April 2018. Candidates have to carry the admit card in the examination centre, without this entry won't be allowed. Candidates can click on the following link to download the AP LAWCET & APPLGCET Admit Card.

AP LAWCET & PGLCET Fees
The candidates have to make payment of the application fee for AP LAWCET and PGLCET 2018 as under:

AP LAWCET & PGLCET Result and Counselling
The candidates can download the Rank Card from the website www.aplawcet.org after one week of the publication of results. In the case of any difficulty in downloading the Rank Card the candidates are advised to contact the Convener’s office.
The qualifying percentage of marks in the AP LAWCET is 35% (i.e. 42 marks out of total 120 marks). The qualifying percentage of marks in the PGLCET is 25%.
- Rank obtained in AP LAWCET 2018 is valid for admission into 3 years/ 5 year Law Courses, as the case may be, for the academic year 2018-19 only.
AP LAWCET 2018 Selection Process
- The qualifying percentage of marks in the Entrance Test is 35% (i.e. 42 marks out of total 120 marks). There will be no minimum qualifying marks for SCs & STs for ranking.
- The candidates will be ranked in the order of merit based on the marks obtained in the AP LAWCET 2018. In case oftie the relative rank will be decided as mentioned below:
- By considering the marks secured in Part-C of AP LAWCET and if the tie still persists marks obtained in Part-B in AP LAWCET shall be taken into consideration.
- If the tie still persists they may be bracketed together for the purpose of ranking and seniority in age may be considered at the time of admission.
PGLCET 2018 Selection Process
- The qualifying percentage of marks in the PGLCET Entrance Test is 25%. There will be no qualifying marks for SCs & STs for ranking.
- The Candidates will be ranked as per the total marks obtained in the Entrance Test. If there is a tie in total marks,
- the marks obtained in Part-A of Entrance Test will be considered for awarding the rank.
- If the tie persists they may be bracketed together for the purpose of ranking and seniority in age may be considered at the time of admission.

AP LAWCET 2018 Exam Pattern
- The language of Test - The question paper will be set both in English and Telugu.
- The Test is designed to evaluate the candidate’s ability and aptitude to pursue the study of Law. The Test consists of three parts.
- Number of Questions - A total number of questions will be 120 and the Maximum marks are 120.
- Duration of the test is 90 minutes.
- Type of Questions - The Questions will be objective type including multiple choices questions, matching items.

Aptitude for the Study of Law |
- For 5 year Law Course, the standard expected is of Intermediate level
- For 3 year Law Course, the standard expected is of Degree Level.
- The questions in Part-C, Aptitude for the study of Law, elementary knowledge of the basic principles of the Law and Constitution of India on the Part of the Student is assumed.
PGLCET 2018 Exam Pattern
Single entrance test is conducted for all the courses of LL.M
- The Language of Test- The question paper will be in English.
- Duration of Exam - It is of 90 minutes duration and consists of 120 questions of 1 mark each.
