BHU Law Entrance Exam 2018 is for admission to law courses i.e. B.A. LL.B.(Hons) and LL.B. (Hons.) (Bachelor of Laws) in Banaras Hindu University (BHU). The admission will be based on BHU UET 2018. The admissions for both these law courses are made on the basis of the written exam whose exam pattern, previous year question papers and other important details are given below to provide an idea to the students about the questions of the exam. BHU UET is a common exam and makes the student eligible for admission to various Undergraduate Courses offered by Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. It is one of the most reputed Central Universities in the country. The student can apply to various courses in BHU provided they are not on the same date. The application for the same has been started. Candidates can apply from the link given below.
A separate test will be conducted for each course under the name of BHU UET 2018. However, there are certain courses where a combined common test will be conducted but in case of BHU Law Entrance different exams will be conducted for the given below two courses on different dates.
- B.A. LL.B. (Honors) is a 5 years course (10 semesters) and is taught at Faculty of Law, BHU Campus.
- LL.B. (Hons.) (Bachelor of Laws) is a 3 years course (6 semesters) and is taught at Faculty of Law, BHU Campus.

BHU Law Entrance Exam Eligibility criteria
The candidates must be qualified and eligible enough to appear in the admission to the Faculty of Law, Banaras Hind University. The minimum requirements to appear in the BHU UET Law Entrance 2018 is given below.
The age restrictions of the BHU UET for admission in the BHU's BALLB (Hons) and LLB (Hons) have been removed as per the latest notification which is given below.
Minimum Eligibility For B.A L.L.B.(Honors)
Applicants who have successfully completed/ is appearing Senior Secondary School Class 12 or equivalent are eligible to apply.
- The candidate should have passed from a recognized University of India or outside or from a Senior Secondary Board or equivalent constituted or recognized by the Union or by a State Government or from any equivalent institution from a foreign country recognized by the Government of that country.
- The candidate should not have secured less than 50% of total marks in case of General category. (45% in case of OBCs and 40% in case of SCs & STs applicant.)
- Candidates who have completed their education of class 11 and 12 via open universities (without any basic qualification supporting the higher studies will not be eligible for the admissions).
- Age Criteria: No age Criteria is applicable as per supreme court.
Minimum Eligibility For LL.B. (Hons.)
- Candidates must have a Bachelors Degree in B.A./ B.Sc./ B.Com./ Shastri (at least 10+2+3 pattern) securing a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate considering all the subjects in the three years except those subjects where only pass marks are required and which do not contribute to the total in the final (degree) mark sheet
- Candidate can also have any other Degree under at least 10+2+3 pattern recognized by the Bar Council of India for the purpose of admission to LL.B. Course
- Candidates should have secured a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate considering all the subjects in the three years
- For SC/ST candidates, there will be no minimum aggregate percentage of marks in the qualifying examination except that they must have passed the qualifying examination.
- For OBC and PC candidates, there will be a relaxation of 5% marks in aggregate in the qualifying examination.
- Directive of Bar Council of India- As per directive of the Bar Council of India, the candidates acquiring High School/ Secondary or Intermediate/Senior Secondary level (10+2) through the distance education or external mode will not be considered eligible for admission in LL.B
- Age Criteria: Not age criteria is applicable as per supreme court.
BHU Law Entrance Exam Application form and Admit Card
The candidates can apply for BHU Law Entrance Exam 2018 in "Online" mode only. There is NO offline Process of filling the BHU UET 2018 Application Form. Candidates may apply through online mode by visiting the official website or can click on the following link. The candidates have to fill the BHU UET 2018 Application Form as per the procedure provided. The last date to fill the application form is 28 February 2018.
BHU UET Admit Card for BHU Law Entrance Exam
The BHU Law Entrance Exam Admission will be done on the basis of BHU UET. BHU UET Admit Card 2018 is expected to be released in the month of May 2018, tentatively 1 week before the exam. The candidates can download the admit card from the official website of Banaras Hindu University one week before the exam whose link is given below.

BHU Law Fee Structure for 2018 (Annual)
- The B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) course runs at Main Campus, Faculty of Law under Special Courses of Studies with the fee structure of Rs. 60,000 per annum and as BALLB is a 5 years course the fees total to Rs. 3,00,000 for the entire course.
- In addition, a student would be required to pay the regular fee component prescribed for the course.
BHU Law Entrance Exam Result and Counselling
BHU UET Result for BHU Law Entrance Exam has been declared on 16 June 2018. The merit list for the same is prepared according to the result. The selection of the candidates will be made on the basis of merit list prepared.
- BHU Score & Marks: The marks obtained by the candidate, the order of overall merit and the all the relevant information related to the BHU Score and marks will be sent to the candidate by mail as well as SMS. The candidate can also check the BHU Official Answer Keys and calculate their marks.
- No Revaluation of BHU Result: Banaras Hindu University will not entertain any request for Re-evaluation or Investigation of the answer sheets at any conditions. Further, no query about the same will be considered. BHU UET Results would be available at the BHU official website.
- Admissions will be solely done on the basis of merit in the UET, subject to fulfilling of eligibility requirements and availability of seats in the particular Course for which the candidate has applied for. BHU Counselling 2018 for BHU Law Admission
There will be computerized counselling procedure for admission to various courses at BHU, Banaras Hindu University will announce the BHU Counselling schedule after the declaration of results for various courses for the year 2018-19. Check the course wise BHU Counselling 2018 schedule for BHU Admission 2018-19. The Counselling would be held for the following seats.
- Regular seat on the Main Campus
- Paid Seat in the BHU Main Campus
- Seats in the Affiliated Colleges
First of all the regular seats in the main campus will be filled and once they are full then the counselling for the paid seats in the BHU Main Campus is conducted and lastly the seats in the affiliated colleges are filled.
BHU Law Entrance Exam Exam pattern
- Duration: 2 hours duration.
- Total Questions: 150 multiple-choice questions carrying 450 marks.
- Each question will carry 3 marks and for each wrong answer, one mark shall be deducted while the un-attempted question will be awarded zero marks.

- Questions shall be based on General Awareness and Current Affairs, Common Legal Knowledge, Aptitude and Mental Ability.
- It will also include two sets of multiple choice questions on Language comprehension, one each in Hindi and English, where the candidate is required to answer either the Hindi language set or the English language set but not both.
