Amrita University MBBS 2017 admission is based on NEET UG Score. The counselling for the allotment of seats will begin in the month of September 2017. NEET Meritorious candidates must register for the counselling before the third week of August 2017. Amrita Institute of Medical Science was established in the year 1999 by Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, Amma. Until 2015 Amrita MBBS admissions in Amrita School of Medicine, Amrita Health Science Campus, Kochi were done on the basis of Entrance Exam but from this year onwards MBBS admissions will be based on NEET Score. The medical school shares the campus with the Amrita Institute of Medical Science Hospital. Amrita University MBBS 2017 Eligibility criteria
Age: Candidate should have completed 17 years of age but should not have completed 23 years of age by 31 December 2017.
Academic Qualification:
- Candidate must have passed Class 12 in the first attempt.
- Candidates appearing in 10+2 examination in March/ April 2017 can also appear.
- Those who have secured qualifying percentage for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) in 2017 can apply.
Minimum Qualifying Marks: Candidate must have passed in higher secondary examination or its equivalent with an aggregate of 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/ Biotechnology and 60% marks in English separately from any State Higher Secondary Board or equivalent.
Amrita University MBBS Eligibility for NRI Candidates
- Those candidates who qualified from NEET are eligible to apply for NRI category. Indian nationals can apply under the General Category.
- The foreign nationals or NRI or Indian nationals supported by NRI relatives can apply under the NRI Category.
- The candidates applying under this category must be an NRI or supported by either Parents or Brothers or Sisters or Spouse having an NRI status.
- However, the candidates supported by cousins, uncle, aunt, brother/ sister-in-law or any other person will not be accepted.
Amrita University MBBS 2017 Application form and Admit Card
The candidates can apply for Amrita University 2017 only online. There is NO offline Process of filling the Amrita University 2017 Application Form. The last date to apply for MBBS/BDS Counselling is August 3rd week 2017.
As per the latest notification of UGC, the NEET scores is mandatory for admission to MBBS/ BDS course in any government and private medical colleges in India. Therefore, to apply for the admission into MBBS/BDS course, the candidates need to submit their NEET score.
Online Application: Candidates have to apply through online mode by visiting the official website. Amrita MBBS 2017 Application form has to be filled following these steps:
- STEP 1- Personal Details.
- STEP 2- Contact Details.
- STEP 3- Parents/Guardian Details.
- STEP 4- Reference Details.
- STEP 5- Upload the Photograph- Candidates have to upload a recent passport size photograph (JPEG;30Kb) clicked in front of the white or off-white background.
- STEP 6- Upload Scanned copy of NEET result sheet: Upload scanned copy of Candidate's NEET result sheet and save. Please note that the Applications without candidate’s NEET result sheet will be rejected and not considered.
- STEP 7- Payment of Application Fee: Complete the online application form and pay Application Fee of Rs. 600 through Net banking/ Debit card/ Credit card.
The candidates will also receive an email and SMS about the successful completion of Application along with your application number
Submission of Amrita MBBS Counselling Application
The candidates are not required to send any hard copy of the confirmation sheet generated. Notification relating to approval of online submitted application form will be sent either via Email or SMS or Both email and SMS.
After successfully submitting the application form the candidates will be redirected to a panel which will contain their Registration id. Hence, the candidates are required to note down the Registration Number for future References.
Amrita University MBBS 2017 Fees
MBBS/ BDS Counselling Fees: Candidates are required to pay an Application Fee of Rs 600. The application fee for Amrita university application has to be paid online by Net Banking/ Credit Card/ Debit Card.

Amrita University MBBS 2017 Result and Counselling
Candidates will be selected on the basis of rank obtained in All India Amrita Entrance Examination conducted by Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham.
- Results of MBBS/ BDS examination, are expected to be available within three to four weeks from the date of the examination i.e. June 2017.
- Ranks in respect of all Entrance Examinations for MBBS/ BDS will be published at Amrita website.
Amrita University MBBS Counselling - Important Information
Counselling and admission for MBBS/ BDS will commence after receipt of the rank list from NEET. The dates of the counselling will be soon uploaded on the website as well as on this page
- The separate counselling letter will be sent and the candidates desirous of admission should report to the Chairman on the date/ time announced on the website.
- The admission will be made strictly on the basis of the availability of seats. As soon as the seats for the particular course get filled, the admission will be closed from the side of the university.
- Interested candidates should report and be present at least half an hour before the time allotted on the date of counselling with call letter, announced on the website.
Documents to be submitted by the Foreign Nationals at the time of Admission
- Passport with valid student VISA
- Equivalence Certificate from the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi
- PIO Certificate/ Card if obtained
- Over Seas Citizen of India Certificate/ Card if secured
- Medical Fitness Certificate
- Character and Conduct Certificate
- Translated version of all documents, if they are not in English
Amrita University MBBS 2017 Exam pattern
The admission of the candidates to Amrita University for MBBS / BDS course will be done on the basis of NEET scores. NEET 2017 will be conducted in 10 languages. The candidates have to specify the language of the question paper while filling the application form. There will be only one paper in NEET entrance exam, which will be conducted in Pen and Paper mode.

- Duration of Exam: 3 hours
- Total no. of Questions: 180 Multiple Choice Questions from the three subjects namely Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology). Four marks will be awarded for every correct response.
- Negative Marking: For every incorrect response one mark will be deducted from the total score.
- The Medium of Exam: From this year NEET question paper will be conducted in 10 languages viz are; Hindi, English, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi, Tamil, Oriya, Kannada and Telugu.
The questions would be answered on the specially designed machine-gradable sheet using Ball Point Pen provided by CBSE at centre only.
